Just to let you guys know I'm writing what happens to Hotaru during school because it's just a waste of space and time.

Chapter 2

Steven and Spade were waiting outside the gates of the school that Hotaru went to.

“You sure making her my student was a good idea,” Steven inquired, “I mean I'm not ready to retire yet. Maximus is looking to retire so why didn't you make the girl his student.”

“Its simple after she masters the Dark Magician Girl your dragons are the easiest of the Legacy Duelists guardians to master,” Spade responded, “After that she will move on to the next hardest guardian until she gets to my guardian.”

“You mean we are going to train her to carry on our legacy,” Steven commented, “Matt I would think even you wouldn't put such a burden on the shoulders of a little girl.”

“Never use my name in public Kamiya do you understand,” Spade growled, “I know how heavy a burden it is but I have faith in Hotaru. You should have remembered one of our founding ideals. You always keep the faith.”

“You are right as usual Spade,” Steven sighed, “I just wish the girl would get out here already. The only reason I brought you along was to keep an eye on Hotaru in case I have to duel another of those bullies.”

Spade merely nodded his head and the two of them went back to watching for Hotaru. After another fifteen minutes Hotaru emerged from the school but she looked like she was trying to get away from something or someone. Steven and Spade watched as three bullies came out after her. They were about to catch Hotaru when Steven intervened.

“Hey Hotaru what's wrong,” Steven inquired.

Hotaru seemed to get a hopeful look in her eyes when she saw him.

“The same boys from yesterday are after me,” Hotaru explained, “I'm glad you showed up when you did. I could really use some help.”

“Just challenge them to a game of duel monsters,” Steven commented, “That is if they have the guts to accept the challenge in the first place. Though use your new deck.”

“So the freak has a new deck does she,” Greg sneered, “I'd gladly accept a challenge from her.”

“Then lets duel Greg,” Hotaru stated.

The duel started but before Hotaru drew her first card she was reminded why she was Steven's student.

“Remember what I told you yesterday student,” Steven stated, “Have faith in your deck and in yourself.”

Hotaru nodded at her new teacher and then drew her card.

“I summon Skilled Dark Magician in attack mode,” Hotaru declared, “Now I'll play Pot of Greed which will put one counter on my magician. Next I'll play Graceful Charity and discard two Sinister Serpents. I'll play Swords of Revealing Light putting the third and final counter on my creature. With three counters on him I can now trade in my Skilled Dark Magician for the Dark Magician. I'll end my turn by playing two cards face down.”

“I'll play a monster face down in defense mode,” Greg remarked, “Then I play two cards face down and use Snatch Steal to take your Dark Magician. Now I'll him attack you directly.”

“Did you forget I have swords meaning you can't attack for three turns,” Hotaru stated.

Hotaru drew her card and used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Snatch Steal and take back her Dark Magician.

“I flip over my face down card Heavy Storm to destroy every magic and trap you have on the field,” Hotaru commented, “Next I'll use Nobleman of Crossout on your face down monster. Now I'll use Cost Down and discard my Negate Attack so that I can summon the Dark Magician Girl. Now I'll attack you directly with both my creatures bringing you down to 3500 lps. I'll lay a card face down and end my turn.”

“I'll lay a card face down and summon a monster face down in defense mode,” Greg remarked.

“I activate my face down card Ceasefire,” Hotaru declared, “Now if your face down monster has an effect you will lose another 1000 points bringing you down to your last 500 life points.”

Greg's monster ended up being a Sprit Reaper meaning he lost 1000 points.

“I'll end my turn by playing the magic card Sparks,” Hotaru stated, “It will take away 5oo lps ending the game.

“Very good Hotaru,” Spade commented

“Yes a completely different performance from yesterday,” Steven remarked, “I'm very pleased with how your first duel as my student went. Now let's get going there is a tournament in about an hour that I'm taking part of.”

“Are any of the other masters going to be in this tournament,” Hotaru inquired.

“Maximus may take part in it but he never gave a straight up answer,” Steven replied, “So I'd bet if he doesn't enter then Vlad will. You see when we first started the Legacy Duelists Vlad and myself were rookies. So Spade and Maximus trained us to be Duel Monsters champions. I was trained by Spade and Vlad was taught Maximus.”

Spade, Steven, and Hotaru walked towards the mall that the tournament was being held at. When they got there they saw about eighty people in line to sign up for the tournament. Hotaru saw a few people that she goes to school with including Greg sign up. When it was Steven's turn to sign up he put down his middle name, which is Chaos. After waiting for everyone to sign up the preliminary matches started up to see witch sixteen duelists would be in the actual tournament. It didn't Steven long to make the final sixteen defeating all his opponents with his Blue Eyes White Dragons and his Delta Attacker magic card. After the preliminaries were all finished the duelists were paired up with their opponents and bracket looked like this for the first round of the tournament.

Chaos versus Rei, Haruka versus Makoto, Minako versus Ami, Mamoru versus Vlad, Usagi versus Maximus, Greg versus Michiru, Shingo versus Spade, Setsuna versus Rick.

That's it for this chapter. In chapter three the tournament begins. Will Setsuna's plot be revealed now that she has all four of our heroes in one spot? Do the Legacy Duelists have any tricks that may save them from danger? I will reveal everything within the next two chapters.
