Haruka sat in the plush seats of her family's 1984 Oldsmobile car. Her head rested uninterestedly against the thick glass window. Her mom was standing with her hands on her hips impatiently waiting for her daughter to exit the vehicle. Her daughter - however - showed no intention of moving. Mr. Ten'ou scowled and opened the door.
"Now listen up -" he said sternly, "You are being very selfish young lady" - Haruka winced - "now you are going to get out of that car, go into that house, unpack your boxes, tidy your room and cheer up and stop making us all so miserable." his voice rose at the end of his lecture as he waggled his finger in his daughter's face. Haruka swallowed a glare, unbuckled her seatbelt, shouldered past her father and mother, and stomped up the walk. It was a very lovely house, in a nice neighbourhood. Mind you - the town was small enough to be a nice neighbourhood on its own. Ashcroft. Tiny place. Haruka glanced at the garden and the house as she furiously made her way. The front lawn was large, very green - surprising in the extreme heat, and the lilac bushes were all in bloom by the front door. The house was large - two story with a basement. The outer part of it was aluminium sliding painted a cheery ivory/peach colour. The shingles were a light grey and the gutters (AN: I think that's what they are called) were a crisp white. There was a large bay window in the front, with squared detailing. Every window had the box detailing. Haruka pushed open the door violently and then kicked a few stray boxes out of her way. The entry hall was nice, hardwood maple floor, soft dove-white walls with intricate flower detailing in the crown molding. She kicked off her NIKE air max men's hazardously and stomped along the hall. She came to a maple and ivory carpeted staircase leading to the upstairs. She stomped up them, making sure to be extra careful to stomp hard on each and every step until she got to the top. She pushed through a room that had all of her boxes in them. She knew it was hers because the boxes had been haphazardly taped with duct tape. She kicked the boxes out of her way and slammed her door shut. She leaned against it, her chest heaving. She hadn't wanted to come to this stupid place, she wanted to go back - go home. She shut her eyes tight and barricaded the hot tears inside, she wouldn't let them fall. she balled her hands into tight fists and jammed them into her kangaroo pocket of her man's sweater. She raised her head and walked calmly over to her mattress and bed frame which was in pieces and put them together. After not much labouring she had managed to get the frame up and she had set her box bed and mattress on top. It took her most of the day to unpack her boxes, set up her memorabilia and put her clothes away. It was now about five in the evening - almost dinner. She sat on her naked bed and stared out her curtainless (AN: yea I made that up) window. She heard a soft knock on the door. She glowered and watched as her mother walked into her room. She didn't feel like having a 'heart to heart' at the moment.
"Haruka -" her mother began.
"Mom! I don't feel like talking okay - I'm just sick of moving around all over the place. You promised we wouldn't again after we lived in Grand Prairie - but you lied, and I'm upset, I know I shouldn't act this way and yadda yadda yadda! I need some sheets for my bed and I'll be down for dinner - I'm going to bed early I have school." with that she got up and strode past her mother. She stomped down the hall to the end closet, opened it up and yanked out the first sheet she saw, some pillow cases, and stomped back to her room. Her mother was still standing by her bed with a severe look on her face.
"Haruka, change the attitude right now!" was all she said, before flouncing out. Haruka glared, stuffed her pillows into their cases, haphazardly put the sheet on her bed and flopped on it. She could smell spaghetti (AN: hehe, ICP dating game) and her stomach rumbled. She got up and walked downstairs slowly. She took in the dining room with wide eyes. This was defiantly a nice house. Rich hardwood floors again, detailed molding, and a nice teardrop chandelier. The table was set and everyone was ready to eat. Haruka sat down and dished herself out a large portion. Everyone ate in silence, which was normal.
"you can do the dishes tonight Haruka." her father stated, clearing his plate off with a heel of garlic bread. She nodded. As usual she was left to clean up. Her mother finished her meal as well and they left the house, not stating where they were going or when they'd be back. That was also normal. She emptied the large pot of uneaten spaghetti into a container and put it in the refrigerator. She gathered up the many used dishes and rinsed them off. Once they were reasonably clean she placed them neatly in the dishwasher. She washed the pots and pans in the sink and put them away. By the time she had completed that it was late. She hurried upstairs for a quick shower. She turned on the temperature quite cold, she needed a shock for her system. She stepped in, shivering. Washed her hair and body quickly, mechanically. And then stepped out. Her body was dripping water all over the floor as she searched for a towel. She found one and dried her self off in a hurry, dried the floor, and hung up the towel. She ran outta the bathroom and into her bedroom, shivering because she was naked. She tugged on her favourite boxers and a white muscle shirt and snuggled down into her comforter. She was emotionally exhausted, but she couldn't sleep. Too apprehensive about what the next day would bring. After a few hours of restlessly tossing and turning she fell into a fretful sleep. jerked awake to the relentless sound of her alarm clock. She groaned, flung her hand out and smashed the horrendous device with her fist. It stopped the evil noises immediately. She let out another groan like a wounded animal and forced herself out of bed. As soon as she stood up she dove back under the covers again.
"ffffffffffffffUUUUUCK! Its cold!" she yowled, her voice rising at the end. She tentatively slid out again, placing her feet on the icy floor. She waddled (AN: yes waddled, wouldn't you if you were half asleep and half frozen?!) over to her closet and pulled out a clean pair of boxers (AN: what was she dreaming about?!) and a pair of baggy black Dickies, a crisp white muscle shirt, and a button up silk shirt with blue flames running up the sides. She looked in her mirror and brushed her hair, then played around with some sculpting paste, then grabbed some white socks and pulled them on. By the time she had 'prettied' herself up she was running late. She ran into the kitchen, grabbed an apple, and ran out the door. She knew she lived down the street and around the corner from A.S.S. (AN: Ashcroft is a place, and ASS is a school) so she wouldn't be *too* late if she ran, which she did. She arrived through the front double doors just as the warning bell rang. She ran up to the front office as quick as she could, she tapped on the window softly. The secretary opened it.
"Yes?"
"I'm new here, Ten'ou Haruka - I don't know which homeroom I'm in." she said in a rush, out of breath. The woman nodded and looked down a list.
"you're in Mrs. Schiller's TAG, room 3." she said quickly. Haruka nodded her thanks and rushed down the hall. Room three, room three, where the hell was room three?! Her jumbled thoughts were silenced when she saw the goddess she had nearly ran over.
"Sorry!" the girl said quickly, lightly touching Haruka's arm. The girl had large gorgeous marine blue eyes, with naturally long eyelashes. Her hair was long, sea green/blue with a long wave to it that caused it to frame her lovely face perfectly. Her skin was soft, pale and clear like porcelain. She had a soft rosy blush to her cheeks. Her gorgeous figure was framed by her Pisces tee shirt and super low rise odd wash Dorinha (AN: the original one inch zip!) jeans. She was the most beautiful thing Haruka had ever laid eyes on.
"Are you okay?" the girl asked, "you look a littlelost?" Haruka forced herself out of her trance.
"I am actually - can you tell me where room three is? I'm new here a-"
"room three is right down here, you're in my homeroom! My name is Michiru, Michiru Kaioh." she tugged Haruka into the right direction.
