Chapter 2- Selene
"Miss Aino?" Chibi-Chibi asked. "I found, I believe, our new exchange student in the front of the shcool." Chibi-Chibi turned kind eyes in Christopher Robin's direction. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name."
"Oh...yeah. Hi," he turned to the class, "my name's Christopher Robin, and I'm from Vermont."
"Well, Christopher, it's very nice to have you in our class for the next three months," said Miss Aino (oh, by the way, Miss Aino is Minako's mother...not Minako herself.).
"Thank you."
"You may both take your seats," Miss Aino gestured. "I'll excuse your tardy," she then directed to Chibi-Chibi.
"Thank you," Chibi-Chibi said, mid-bow. Christopher Robin found a seat luckily right next to Chibi-Chibi's.
Class began like normal. Everyone brought out a notebook for notes. Chibi-Chibi gave Christopher Robin her extra set of notes which she had typed up especially for the exchange student so they could get caught up. Christopher Robin found he was glad he was good at chemistry so Chibi-Chibi didn't make him look too unintelligent, but since he had all of his classes with her, unevitably, he was going to be made a fool of in front of her in English, his worst subject.
Christopher Robin's first day at school had been going fine considering he had a guide to show him around the ten floor school, which with out Chibi-Chibi, would be like a complete maze. It was not until English, fifth hour, that he had encountered problems. The sensei, as they called the teachers or professors there, was unbelievably strict.wonder she didn't speak a word to me since we entered the classroom,' Christopher Robin thought in regards to Chibi-Chibi. All she had said was, 'This is the new exchange student, please excuse my tardiness, for I had to show him to his locker, then to this class. It shall not happen again.'
Christopher Robin's seat this time was all the way across the room from where Chibi-Chibi, or Selene, as her friends called her he learned, sat. For better or for worse, he didn't know. At least now he wouldn't be embarrassed directly in front of her, but then again, he could also benefit from her guidance. The sensei started off on review that he sould have known.
"What is a complete predicate?" She started off very simple. "Yugi."
"Everything from the predicate on to the right. It describes and/or relates to the predicate, which is a verb."
"Very good. Now, Serenity (Chibi-Chibi's formal name, but too formal for friends to call her.), please come up her and correct the sentence."walked up to the dry-erase marker board, and, despite what Christopher was thinking, corrected the sentence by correcting punctuation, etc. and diagramming it, along with putting each part of speech above the word, and writing what tow kinda of sentence it was.good.' Christopher thought.
"Christopher Robin, please explain Serenity's corrections."Robin fumbled with many words in his mouth. He was going to be embarrassed in front of the whole class, not just by others viewing his grades. "Ummm...I believe that she...- Christopher Robin explained as much as he could, (which wasn't much mind you), got a small lecturing from the sensei, and, to his relief, the bell rang, dismissing him to lunch.
Christopher was lucky today, for he had brought a lunch and didn't have to go off campus to buy. He walked slowly to a shady tree in the court yard, and wondered where Chibi-Chibi had gone off to. Could she have not liked him enough to stay with him to eat lunch? Did she think him a pain? The questions repeated in his mind.
"Cynthia?" Chibi-Chibi called out. "I have your lunch!" 'That phrase alone should work,' she thought as the cat came running out from a bush nearby.
"I've missed your company, mistress." the kitten said sincerely.laughed. "And I yours. I've been having to escourt the new exchange student, Christopher Robin, all around the school, and I have all of my classes with him."
"Yikes," Cynthia said, her mouth now full of the sushi Chibi-Chibi had retrieved from the brown paper lunch bag. "Do you think he has any potential? You know, a good challenge?"
"Well, he's more intelligent than he looks, I must admit that," Chibi-Chibi giggled, "but definately not in English. I felt so bad for him. I corrected the sentence and he had to explain it. On his first day he got a lecture."
"But you gave him your extra set of notes?"
"For all classes!" Chibi-Chibi beamed.
"Well, now it's all up to him to become a worthy student," Cynthia replied before eating a piece of shrimp that had falled from her sushi.
Christopher Robin had no idea that Chibi-Chibi was eating lunch with a pink cat. But then again, niether him, nor Chibi-Chibi knew that Christopher Robin's stuffed friends from the Hundred Acre Wood had followed him to Japan, and found Mugen Gugen.
"Can anyone see him?" asked Rabbit.
"Not yet," answered Tigger.
"I think my foot fell asleep," whined Piglet.
"My feet are always asleep," commented Eeyore in his usual depressed tone.
"Will everyone just stop complaining?" asked Rabbit. "I'm about to fall out of this confounded bush!"
"Well that's not my fault! You have bad balance!" retorted Tigger. And with that everyone tumbled out of the bush and piled on top of Rabbit. They all knew they had to look like stuffed animals, and Rabbit had a considerably hard time muffling a yell.
Christopher Robin glanced over at the bush to see what had made a rustling noise.Rabbit, he too had to muffle a scream to keep people from looking at him and his stuffed friends.my god...' he thought as he saw who he knew was Piglet, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Rabbit. 'This isn't good.'
"Christopher?" came a voice behind him. Christopher Robin whipped around to see Chibi-Chibi smiling at him. Her smile seemed to warm his heart and wash away all his worries.
"Oh, hi, Selene."
"Oh, you don't have to call me that. It's too formal. Just call me Chibi-Chibi, okay? Hey, by the way, what were you staring at?"
"N-n-nothing really," stuttered the boy.
"Oh...okay then. Would you like to come with me to my locker? Then we could go to our next class together."
"Sure!" Christopher Robin got off the grass in the shade of the tree and followed Chibi-Chibi, chatting with her all along the way.
By 3:00, which was fifteen minutes before school got out for the day, Christopher Robin was dragging his feet when ever he walked, and laying his head down when ever he sat in a desk. He didn't know how Chibi-Chibi did it, school was so exhausting. In his mind before he arrived in Japan, he thought that, like always, he would have an easy time with the more strict school system and get straight A's as he always had. But now he was starting to doubt himself. This was way harder than he ever could have anticipated.
He was in World History, listening to the sesei give a quite interesting essay that he was honestly trying to follow, but too tired to really comprehend anything. He was sitting directly left of Chibi-Chibi, who was taking notes like wild fire, sitting straight up in her desk with her feet delicately crossed at the ankles underneath the desk. Christopher Robin prayed she would let him copy her notes. He also prayed the sensei wouldn't call on him to answer any questions. The teacher's words were going in one ear and out the other. His eyes were glued to the clock, watching time inch closer ad closer to 3:15.
Finally, the bell rung, and school was dismissed. No one really said anything out of excitement, so Christopher followed suit and only celebrated in his mind. Now he had to go to the house that would welcome him for the three months of his stay. He took a sheet of paper out of his pocket, and started following the directions on it.
So how did you like it so far? If you want to tell me however you feel, even if you feel negatively, go ahead. Although, flames aren't my favortie thing in the world. Well, chapter 3 should be following unless it's not posted yet. Please keep reading. You make me feel important that way...lol... Well, thanks for reading chapter two, and I hope you enjoyed it. Don't worry, it'll get more interesting.yalls,Gold
