Episode 1

{The Coming of the Eclipse}

It all started when Serena was in her science class while the teacher was out of the room seeing to a misbehaving student. She was just doodling with her pencil, when her best friend Molly runs up to her, "Serena! Serena!" Molly called, but Serena didn't hear, for she was daydreaming about her boyfriend, Darien.

It wasn't until Melvin came over and made a wise crack remark about her that she came back to reality and nearly clobbered him. Molly managed to stop her. "Serena! Stop!" Serena slowly looked up at Molly. Serena turned red with shame.

"W..was there something you wanted?" she asked seeing the look on Molly's face.

Molly's anger quickly turned to joy when she remembered what she came to tell her. "Did you hear about the new girl?"

Serena who was just gathering her things and helping Melvin up, looked up and replied, "No what's her name?"

"I think I heard someone say it was Maggie O'Conner."

The teacher soon returned and they started their daily lesson. "I wonder what she's like?" Serena thought to herself.

As Serena, Lita, Amy, and Luna were walking home from school (Luna spent the day walking around the city), Serena told them about Maggie. "Yes, I've met her. She's very nice," replied Amy.

"Ya, but there's something strange about her. I don't know what it is, I just have a gut feeling." Added Lita. Luna looked up at her.

"What do you mean `something strange'?" she asked moving over to walk on the nice cool moist grass, because the path was a little too hot for her little paws.

"I don't know, it's just that every so often when Maggie passes Kit and Laurel in the hall, she got an evil desired look, as if she and Kit were old rivals or something…

"But she can't know Kit! Kit and Laurel were living in the Seri Desert with their families for six years, and Maggie moved here from Brazil!," Said a voice behind them. They all turned around to see Nora Tepel.

"Hi Nora." Amy said grinning at her other friend. Nora was very active, basically if there was something around the current area that someone wished to find out, they turned to Nora. She was just an inch shorter than Lita and had long red hair, there was always a braid that would hang over her shoulder. Nora had over heard their conversation, so she decided to relay what she knew about it.

"Uh, I'm a little confused. So basically you're saying that Maggie and Kit knew each other, but yet they don't?" asked Serena not understanding at all.

"Ex…cuse me…Nora, bu…but wh…where's Maraki?" Luna asked from up in a tree. She had been there ever since she heard Nora's voice, fearing that if Maraki was with her, that her dogly urges would kick in and she would pounce on Luna.

"Don't worry Luna," Nora called, "Maraki is with Sarah on the other side of the park." Luna let out a sigh of relief.

"OH NO!" Serena said suddenly looking at her watch.

"What is it?" Amy asked.

"I'm going to miss this new show coming on and it looks so good!" she said in her `I'm late again' voice. She and Luna said goodbye to the others. She nearly crashed into Darien as she left the park.

"Hey what's the rush, Meatball Head!" he teased. But for some strange unknown reason Serena walked right past Darien as if she didn't even see or hear him. He stood there a little dumbfounded. Even Luna was confused, but kept up with Serena's pace.

"There is more she's worried about than just a TV show," Luna thought.

Later that day the Inner, Outer, and Zodiac scouts except Serena met at Raye's temple. "It's very strange," said Sarah. Since Luna was there, Sarah kept an extra eye on Maraki, even if she was Sarah and Nora's guardian. And it was even more dangerous with Luna, Artemis, and their daughter Diana there.

"I know. She had never walked past me like that before. There's something wrong and I'm going to find out!" said Darien worried for his beloved Meatball Head.

Amara and Michelle looked at each other. The cousins felt sorry for Darien and wished that there was something they could do. Then Michelle got an idea.

"Sarah! Couldn't you do that thing, what do you call it?" Michelle asked.

"What? Oh it's like telepathy, but stronger. I can get more then just emotions though." Sarah replied.

"What do you have in mind Michelle? Mina asked.

"Well, I doubt Serena will tell us what's wrong, not yet anyway, and if a monster attacks the city, she could be in danger to the team. What I was thinking, is that since Sarah is telepathic she could see what's wrong with her."

"But I can't invade someone's mind without their consent!" Sarah cried shaking her head.

"Sarah's right. It wouldn't be right. But yet I'm worried about her. I can't stand seeing her like this. Sarah, I'll talk to her about it okay. But you should come along as well," Darien said standing up.

"Okay, but what of this Maggie girl?"

"She is a mystery, we'll keep our eyes on her." Replied Raye, her hand on her chin in a Sherlock Holmes manner.

Serena was in her room cleaning it up and searching for the seventy dollars from her allowance that she had been saving for over six months. "Oh, where is it?" she asked herself shuffling though her closet.

"Serena, are you alright?" her mother called just outside her room. Serena quickly closed her closet and jumped on her bed and picked up a comic. Her mother walked in. "I see you have finally cleaned your room, or did you stuff it all in the closet?" she asked grinning, but with her hands on her hips.

"No mom, I even cleaned the closet," she replied, her nose still in the comic. Her mother started to leave then turned.

"By the way, where's Luna? I haven't seen her for awhile. Is she over at Amy's, Mina's?" Serena shrugged. Her mother left.

Serena put down the comic and looked at the calendar. Only three days and she still had nothing for her mother's birthday. Serena looked grim.

Darien and Sarah reached Serena's house. Darien knocked. Serena's mother came to the door. "Darien? Sarah? Hello, come in." she stepped aside allowing them to come in.

"Thank you," Sarah said with gratitude. "Where's Serena?" Mrs. Tsukino looked grim.

"She's been in her room all day, ever since she got back from school. Did something happen?" she asked worriedly. Darien and Sarah shook their heads. "Well I'll go tell her you're here," Mrs. Tsukino left the room as Darien and Sarah took a seat.

"Serena! Serena! You have some friends over!" Mrs. Tsukino said standing right outside her door again.

"Mom, I'm busy…Friends? Who? Darien?" Serena's voice changed from being gloomy to excited.

"Yes dear. Sarah is here too!"

"Sarah!? Tell them I'll be right there!" Serena quickly got her hair up in `meatballs' the way Darien liked it and grabbed her purse containing the seventy dollars. She rushed out of her room and into the living room where Sarah and Darien were. They both stood up, but Serena knocked Darien back when she went to hug him.

"I'm so happy to see you, Darien!"

"You are? You didn't seem so happy when passed you as you came running out of the park." Serena looked at him confused.

"What are you talking about? I…"

"Serena, I'm going to the store, look after your brother when he comes home." Said her mother as she left.

"Serena what's wrong? You have been down a lot lately." Sarah asked.

"My mother's birthday is in three days and I can't think of what to give her," she said as she looked down at her lap.

"Your mom won't have a nice birthday as long as the Negaverse is around!"

Serena, Darien, and Sarah look down to see Luna. "She's right, but we'll help you throw the most fantastic party ever, for your mom! Sarah says excitedly.

"That's not what I meant", Luna says softly.

Dark-con, the new ruler of the Negaverse looked down upon the earth. "Those pitiful humans, I have always wondered how people like Queen Beryl, Ann, Allen, and so many others even more powerful, couldn't drain this planet of energy. But where they failed, I will succeed! Kinister!" Dark-Con called to his first hand man. Kinister appeared within a cloud of smoke.

"Yes, my lord? How may I serve you?" Kinister was a big built of a man, young, with long black hair and blue eyes. He liked his work because he enjoyed playing with his victims before draining them. Earth was just a new playground to him.

"How should we begin? Any ideas?"

"Well, we could send Catina down disguised as a little cat and when she is in a crowded area where people can't escape very easily, she'll change back and steal their energy!" he said making a grabbing gesture with his left hand.

"But what of those Sailor brats I heard so much about?" Dark-Con replied.

"Don't worry my lord. Leave them to me." Kinister said grinning darkly.

"Very well, proceed." Kinister bowed, turned, and left. "Ha, ha, ha! Those Sailor Scouts can't stand in my way! No one can!" Dark-Con laughed insanely.

"Serena, did you hear about the community ball that's taking place tomorrow?! Asked Molly during the beginning of class.

"Yes, I can't wait! Dancing, music, food, games! The whole nine yards!"

"Dance smance!" grumbled Melvin.

"Oh dear." Molly said only to Serena, but load enough so Melvin could hear, "I was hoping Tom would ask me, but since he asked Sarah, I guess I will have to stay home and miss all the fun!" she pretended to cry.

"Molly, you could go with me, Lita, and the …"

"I'll go with you!" Melvin said suddenly. Molly and Serena turned toward him, puzzled. "I mean, would you like to go with me?" he repeated.

Molly thought for a moment, "Sure, Melvin, but don't humiliate me, okay?

"Scouts honor!" he said making the boy scouts sign.

The whole school heard about the dance, as well as the elementary school where Rini went and that whole part of town. Shy little Maggie knew no one would ask her, being new and everything, so she agreed to take her mother, who had been in distress ever since her husband died just six months before they moved. So far she had made no friends, it was only her second day. Maggie's most cherished possession was her colorful hawk Zorin. Zorin was like no ordinary bird, her wings and breast were covered with colorful feathers. She also was more stealthy then most birds.

"Mom, it's time to go!" she called from the doorway.

"Just a moment, Mag." Her mom replied. Mrs. O'Conner was a self-centered person, much like Maggie. She had long blue hair that she swore in a braid. She didn't get out much except to do weekly chores. Mrs. O'Conner came done the stairs wearing a very beautiful gown. It was a mix of black, red, and orange. It started with one color and gradually went to the others. She had a bun instead of being braided. Maggie knew there was a chance that her mother would marry again if she continued to go out in public like that. Maggie wore a simple dark blue party dress. She had her short green hair down just the way she liked it. She wore a pair of small sun-moon earrings. She carried her purse with her.

"I'm coming, dear," replied her mom. They got in the car and drove to where the community ball was.

"Serena, I suppose you're going with Darien, right?" asked Mina. The girls, Serena, Lita, Amy, Raye, Mina, and Molly were walking along discussing whom they were going to the ball with.

"Well duh!" says Serena sarcastically. "What gave you the first clue?"

"Uh…"

"Mina, who are you going with?" Raye asked, rescuing her.

"Andrew," she replied quickly.

"Huh! Interesting, Ken and I are going together." Inserted Lita.

"Well, everyone knows I'm going with…" Raye started.

"Chad, right!? Serena says playfully in a teasing manner. Luna shook her head, but said nothing because of Molly.

"That's none of your business!" yelled Raye. Serena and Raye once again get into a fight. As they fight Mina and Lita turn toward Amy.

"So are you going with Greg? I've heard that he's been aching to ask you out for a long time." wondered Lita.

"Well…I…uh…I don't know…I have this extra credit report to do and the deadline is this Friday,"(it's Tuesday) implied Amy. At this Serena and Raye stop fighting and quickly walked over to Amy.

"Extra credit? Your grades are as high as they'll get. Beside, its Tuesday, you've got three days to work on it. Come on, relax for once, enjoy yourself," Serena said trying to persuaded her friend.

"Uh, okay,' she said giving in.

"Hey Molly," Serena said turning to where she once stood. "Molly? Where are you? Luna, did you see where she went?" Luna shook her head.

"I was to busy listening to you all blubbering to even notice she was with us to begin with."

"Ahhh!" came a scream from down a nearby alley. Serena and the others ran toward the scream.

"Sounds like Molly!" said Luna. Her feet almost giving way beneath her. Amy scooped her up off the ground and continued to run. When they reach the alley, they saw a large man, about three to four inches taller than Darien, with long black hair and blue eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. He had a hold of Molly who was out cold after that last scream.

"Hello girls. If you want to see your friend again alive, that is, have Sailor Moon and her friends meet me in the park at five, Tokyo time!" with that, he and Molly vanished.

"Nooo!" cried Serena falling to her knees. The others tried to encourage her.

"Don't worry, Serena, we'll get her back! Those Nega-trash can't stop us!" said Lita.

"Will we ever completely be rid of the Negaverse?" Mina asked Luna.

"It's hard to say…"

"There you are! I've been looking every where for you!" says Artemis, as he, Rini, and Diana came into the alley.

"Lita, what's wrong with Serena?" Rini asked wondering what could be disturbing her mother so. Lit went to tell Rini and Artemis what happened. Diana ran up to her mother and snuggled close, falling fast asleep.

At the ball, two hours later, Darien, Andrew, Chad, Ken, and Greg stood together talking, while waiting for their girlfriends. "I'm getting awfully worried, where could they be?" asked Ken, more to himself then the others.

`I don't know,' thought Darien, `but I'm getting a strange feeling that something is wrong.' Sarah and Tom came up.

"So, they haven't shown up yet, uh?" Sarah asked. All the guys shook their heads. "I could get Nora and we can go look for them." She quickly ran off into the crowd, before anyone could protest. When Andrew and the others turned back to face each other, they saw that Darien had disappeared.

"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!"

"MARS STAR POWER!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER!"

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER!"

"MOON PRISM POWER!"

"SCOUT POWER!" the Sailor Scouts shouted. The scouts ran into the park. "I hope it's not too late!" said Sailor Moon huffing and puffing. Jupiter looked at her watch.

"We still have twenty minutes, Moon. Calm down." They reached the center of the park. There was no one in site. Sailor Moon sank down to the ground.

"I can't go on! Leave me and save Molly yourselves!"

"Awww! Poor Little Miss Moon can't walk! Wish me to make it permanent!" said a voice that seemed to come out of thin air.

"Show yourself coward!" yelled Jupiter. Kinister appeared in front of them, Molly asleep by his feet. "Coward? Me? I don't think so! Bear-Hug, come forth!" A small little walking teddy bear came forth. Sailor Moon looked at it in wonder, "Oh how cute!" she exclaimed reaching out to touch it.

"Sailor Moon! NO!" the others called out. She didn't hear them. Bear-Hug walked closer so she could have better access. Just then his cute little brown eyes turned to a fire red. He opened his mouth to reveal many small sharp teeth.

"Ekk!" Sailor Moon screamed, retracting her hand and quickly getting to her feet. Bear-Hug began to grow in an extraordinary rate.

"Mercury Bubbles…BLAST!" fog surrounded the area. Kinister made it so they couldn't get to Molly, by putting up a shield.

"Let's go Sailor Scouts!" said Sailor Moon.

A small brown and white cat walked around the crowd of people, many were dancing. Andrew and the others began to get impatient. It seemed to them as if Serena and the others wouldn't be showing up. In the back, a sad wallflower leaned against the wall. Maggie watched as her mother was enjoying herself. It was the first in a long time she had seen her mother smile the way she was now. Maggie soon saw that Tom (Nora's date) was walking toward her. She quickly got out her lipstick and put it on. One couple bumped into her, causing the lipstick to spread all the way to her nose. She quickly looked up to see that Tom was closer. She rushed to the restroom to wash it off.

"Aww! How cute!" People were crowding around the small cat, petting and praising it. Soon it hissed loudly and grew into the enormous monster, Catina. She started to drain the energy from the closest people. Others were screaming and running toward the doors, but couldn't get out. Catina finished her first batch and went on for another.

"Mars Fire…IGNITE!" Mars and the others tried everything they could think of to defeat Bear-Hug, with little success. "Mercury, scan that monster, see if it has any weaknesses!" yelled Mars.

"Right!" Mercury replied. She put her visor over her eyes. To her amazement, Bear-Hug didn't even appear on her screen. She retracted it. "Uh, guys? Its not even there!"

"Not even there? How can that be?" Jupiter asked.

"I don't know. I don't understand." Mercury replied.

"Let me try something," said Venus, "Venus Love-Me-CHAIN!" bear -Hug was knocked off balance, but quickly regained it. "We have to attack with more force!" Venus yelled. Bear-Hug used this as an opportunity to even the odds. He ran to where Kinister held Molly and used her as a shield.

"Wha..!" the scouts said in surprise.

"now what are we going to do asked Sailor Moon, who was giving up hope.

"WORLD SHAKING!"

"DEEP SUBMERGE!"

Bear-Hug was hit by a double blast of both fire and water. He quickly let go of Molly. The Inner scouts ran to her. Just a little ways away stood the Outer and the Zodiac scouts. "MOUNTAIN DROP!" Horizon called. Bear-Hug was buried under tons of rocks.

"Molly? Molly?" Sailor Moon called. Molly moaned, but didn't awaken. Sailor Chibi Moon walked up to the hill.

"Do you think he's…"The rocks began to fall down from the hill and Bear-Hug shot out and attacked Chibi Moon. "Pink sugar heart… ATTACK!" she yelled. Bear-Hug quickly became a pile of dust. "Uh?" she said confused…

Maggie heard the people scream, she quickly looked out and saw this human sized cat draining the energy out of the people, one of them was her mother. "Oh, no! What am I going to do?" she thought for a moment, then she started to rustle through her purse. She pulled out and item that looked like a small wand, with a sun and a moon on top. She rose it above her head and said, "ECLIPSE NIGHT POWER!" Maggie transforms into Sailor Eclipse. Eclipse ran out of the restroom. "Stop! By the power of both the sun and moon, combined together in equal harmony. As the darkness surrounds those of the night, I am Sailor Eclipse!" Everyone looked at her confused. Catina dropped her victims and ran toward Eclipse, who jumped up and did a round-house kick, hitting Catina in the face. "Eclipse Hyper…MAGNUS!" she called when she landed on the floor. Catina was in a dazz, but quickly recovered. She stretched out her claws and hit Eclipse who fell to her knees in pain.

"Wayta go, Rini!" Jupiter said hugging Sailor Chibi Moon.

"I don't understand" Rini replied, "My Pink Sugar Heart Attack has never done that before! What gives?"

"It's obvious, you little brat! Bear-Hug's only weakness' were love and the heart of a child. You used both against him! You may have the little girl, but you haven't seen the last of Kinister and the Negaverse!" with that he vanished.

"That's very strange?" stated Pluto.

"What's strange?" asked Jupiter.

"I think I know what she's talking about," Neptune said, "the Negaverse usually is out to steal energy or heart crystals. It's possible that this all could have been a way to keep us away from where the real threat is."

"And where would that be?" asked Sailor Moon. The other scouts looked at each other.

"The Community Ball!" they said together.

"Huh?" replied Sailor Moon.

Eclipse tried desperately to get up, but Catina was draining her of her energy. Soon the Sailor Scouts showed up. "I am Sailor Moon, Champion of Justice. I will right wrongs and triumph of evil, and that mean you, NEGATRASH!"

"I think not, Moon Brat. For I've got one of your friends!" Catina said standing so they couldn't see Eclipse.

Sailor Moon looked around at the others to see if they were all there. Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus were present. Chibi Moon, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn stood ready for battle. Earth, Sun, Horizon, and Aquarius were looking a little bored, but they were all there. Who could she be talking about? "Music Box…PARALIZE!" the scouts heard. Catina was frozen stiff. Their mouths all dropped.

"Who did that?" asked Aquarius. Eclipse stepped out from behind the statue of Catina.

"Who are you? A Sailor Scout?" asked Sun. who looked at her angryly.

"Calm down, Sailor Sun!" said Earth. Eclipse said nothing. She looked at each and every scout, then her eyes fell on Sailor Moon and Sailor Sun and said.

"You are the Moon that darkens the Sun, and I'm…I'm that glorious darkness, I'm Sailor Eclipse!" she said with pride, pointing at Sailor Moon and Sailor Sun.

Just then a red rose shot down right in between the scouts and Eclipse. A man in a tuxedo and a mask jumped down. "Tuxedo Mask!" cried Sailor Moon happily. He smiled back, then he turned to Eclipse, who stood ready to do battle with him. The people who weren't attacked by Catina, stood in awe at the extraordinary site.

"Are you friend or foe, allied with the Negaverse?" he asked. Eclipse gave him an outraged look.

"I don't have to answer to you!" she said sarcastically. Just then, Catina broke free of the spell and attacked Eclipse, but Tuxedo Mask knocked her out of the way in time.

"Aquarius Sonic…SUMOIA!" called Sailor Aquarius. It affected Catina somewhat, since she (and all cats) hate water, but not much.

"Mega…STARBURST!"

"Mars Celestial Fire…SURROUND!"

"Jupiter Thunderclap…ZAP!"

"DEAD SCREAM!"

Horizon, Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto said using their powers against Catina. The others didn't seem to affected her much, but Pluto's attack sent her clear across the room. Neptune and Uranus joined in.

"WORLD SHAKING!"

"DEEP SUBMERGE!"

"DEAD SCREAM!"

Pluto called again, assisted by Neptune and Uranus. Catina disappeared, and no one could find any sign of Eclipse.

The next day, Serena and Mina were at the arcade center playing the Sailor V game, when Maggie came in. Serena stopped playing momentarily and looked at Maggie. `Mmm…She must be very lonely. Maybe I should ask Mina if she would like to go over there with me and say hi,' Serena thought. She noticed that Maggie had ordered a chocolate sundae and was talking to Andrew, who was standing behind the counter.

"Mina, guess wh.." Serena was interrupted by a small yelp. When she looked down she saw a little black lab puppy with a blue collar tugging on her shoelaces. "Mina, look!" Serena said pointing to the puppy. Mina stopped playing to see what Serena was pointing at, "Oh!" she exclaimed bending down, "aren't you the cutest little thing."

"RUFF! RUFF!" the puppy replied, jumping into Mina's arms after letting go of Serena's shoe. Both Serena and Mina giggled. Maggie who was still talking to Andrew and eating her sundae, turned to where she heard the giggles. She recognized the puppy as her own. "Anika!" she called the black puppy, who was licking Mina's face, stopped to the sound of her name and turned to look at Maggie. Anika squirmed in Mina's arms, trying to break free. When Mina softened her grip on the puppy, Anika darted forward toward Maggie jumping onto her lap. Mina and Serena followed.

"So she's your puppy? Hi, I'm Serena," she introduced herself.

"And I'm Mina. It's really nice to meet you. You have a very cute puppy."

"Thank you." Maggie said.

"Yelp! Ruff! Replied Anika. The three girls laughed.

In the Negaverse, dark-Con was not a bit pleased with Kinister's performance. "How dare you call yourself one of my generals! Failed! I can't believe it! Perhaps I should have someone else handle it! But since it's the first time you've faced the Sailor Scouts, I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Make sure that you don't fail again, cause you know what I do to failures!" The touch of his young daughter, Kenya, was what caused Dark-Con to ease up on Kinister. When Kinister left, Kenya said, "Oh father, is there anything I can do to help?"

"Soon my sweet. Soon." Was all he said. Kenya then looked the direction Kinister went, with desire and compassion in her eyes.
