Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Epiphany ❯ Another short chapter! ( Chapter 2 )
Another short chapter!! Sorry guys!!!
The apartment room was small. There were few furnishings; there was a lumpy mattress stuffed into one corner and there was a large vanity pressed against one of the walls. There were no windows, and the room was dimly lit by a single tarnished lamp. There was a full sized mirror in the room, but it had been cracked. Hotaru's reflection was split in the middle. She swallowed. The damp room seemed to close in on her more every minute. She was on the hard wood floor, gagged and bound. The rag that covered her mouth was dirty and smelled musty. She wanted to throw up, the smell was so nauseating. Her head hurt. Her face hurt. Her legs and arms hurt from being tied at awkward angles. Hotaru just wanted to see her Papa. A tear ran down her white cheek. It fell with a small plip to the floor.
<This is no time for tears.> Some strong side of Hotaru said. <I've gotta get out of here!!>
"Yes." She spoke aloud. She began to rotate her wrists furiously. The strong rope cut into her flesh, but she didn't give up. The rope tore away at her pale skin, cutting them open. Blood slowly seeped out. Finally, partly because of the loosening of the rope and partly because her wrists were slick with blood, she freed her left wrist. Using that hand, she untied the tight knot. She ripped off the gag with distaste and threw it on the ground. She untied her legs and stood shakily. Blood dripped onto the wood floor. Hotaru picked up the cloth used for her gag and wrapped it around one wrist. She ran to the door quickly. Just as she was about to open it and run, it opened and hit her square in the shoulder. Hotaru fell back on the floor with a thud, arm bent at an odd angle. The man stood in the doorway. His dirty blonde hair stuck out in every direction. His broad shoulders blocked the doorway completely. Hotaru shrunk back in fear. He grinned at her, his blue eyes glinting. Hotaru slid back on her bottom, holding her arm.
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't want to hurt you! I didn't mean it! Honest, I'm so sorry!" She stammered, speaking quickly. The man's grin didn't waver. Hotaru backed away further and hit the faded yellowing wall. The man stepped through the doorway quietly, his hand behind his back. The door slammed shut behind him. He pulled his hand out from behind his back and Hotaru screamed. A silver knife was in his hand. Intricate designs covered the sharp blade. His grin grew wider at the expression of fear on Hotaru's face. He began to move forward slowly. Hotaru's body didn't want to move. She seemed paralyzed to the spot. He lunged at her then, seeing that she wasn't going to move. Hotaru's motion came back to her and she leaped away, the knife mearly glanced and cut her side. She felt a thin trickle of blood down her side. She cried out.
"Help!! Please, someone help me!" The man lost his grin. In its place was an expression of pure fury.
"Do you know what you did to me!?!" He took a big step toward the shaking girl. "Do you even know? You drove me insane!!! All the medication.the pain.pain." He lunged at her again. This time Hotaru didn't move quick enough the knife pierced her side. She cried out and sank to the floor, red beginning to cloud her eyes. The man withdrew the knife and held it up, ready to stab again. Hotaru's hair blew out behind her in a wave of black, and her eyes went out of focus. Power began to form around her in a strong purple glow.
"No, you don't this time!" He cried, slamming down the knife. Just as it was about to piece her heart, the man was brutally pushed out of the way. The knife stabbed Hotaru's side again, and her eyes rolled in her head. She slumped to the floor.
