Chp. 4 training and dinner

He almost seemed to tenderly carry her to Malachite's arena. While he carried her, he wondered if she was his missing moon princess. When he got to Malachite's arena, he found Malachite sitting in a chair, reading. He shut his book when Endymion got there. Endymion gently shook Serena awake and gave her to Malachite and left without a word.

At first, Serena was scared of Malachite because he also seemed icy. His icy platinum white hair was also long and in a pony tail. His piercing eyes seemed to see right through her. He taught her the elements of magic: fire, wind, earth, thunder, ice, water, and much more. She started out with Earth first, because it was associated with her training with Zoicite. She was taught how to concentrate to form earth and throw boulders with her mind.

When the session was over, she felt that malachite wasn't that bad, it just was that he used his iciness as a mask from the outside world. Endymion came again and talked to Malachite for a moment, asking about Serena's progress. He seemed to approve of her progress with Malachite and nodded at her. He brought her to another arena next, which was next to his room. For a moment, the arena seemed plain, but he changed the terrain to a rocky and dark one.

“You must be able to fight under any circumstances. I will teach you how to combine hand to hand combat with magic. I will teach you how to fight under desperate circumstances and different terrains, take this terrain for instance. Your enemy could be hiding anywhere because the rocks would cover them.”

She nodded. “will I be using portals in battles too?”

“Portals during battle, are usually for retreat.”

He taught her how to use the terrain to her advantage and to hurl the boulders. She could also uncover the enemy by moving boulders with her mind or with the movement of a hand. He taught her how to use forcefields when the enemy was hurling something at her and how to absorb their magic in their force field and to hurl it back at them.

When their session was over, he led her to some sort of dining room. It was incredibly huge with a really long table vertically down the middle. He sat her down next to him. He took the seat in the middle. (You know at the end, that's what I mean by middle.) Malachite appeared out of now where and sat next to Endymion, on his left. Jedaite and Nephlite appeared at the same moment and sat down on opposite sides of each other. Nephlite sat next to Serena and Jedaite sat next to Malachite. Zoicite was the last of them and he made Serena scoot down to the next seat so he could sit down next to Endymion and discuss important matters with him. Then everyone else appeared. Then, Queen Beryl appeared at the top of the stair case, with Anne right behind her, and made a grand entrance. At the sight of her, everyone stood up with their heads bowed.

The Queen sat on the other end of the table, with Anne sitting on her right. The Queen motioned for everyone to sit. After that, everyone started to eat. Serena felt really hungry. While she ate, she was entertained by the four generals. Endymion watched her during the whole meal and talked to the generals only, discussing important matters. Once during the meal, however, their hands accidently brushed, when they had reached for the butter at the same time. Their eyes met and she blushed and lowered her eyes right away and jerked her hand away. His eyes were piercing and searched her face in a questioning way.

Towards the end of the meal, Serena fell asleep. Malachite had elbowed Endymion and motioned to him that Serena had fallen asleep. He rose from his chair wordlessly and picked her up and carried her to her room. The four generals followed him, to make sure that no one else would hurt Serena on her first day.
