Chapter eight: Love or Dueling?

 

Amara crawled into the bed that was in the basement. She felt odd. She felt broken for some reason. She felt tears running down her face as she buried her face into the pillow to let out her sobs.

Yami who was going into the basement to grab something, he saw Amara crying. She was trying to hide it even though she thought no one was there. `Why does she lock her feelings like this?' Yami thought as he walked toward the bed and lightly touched her shoulder. Amara shrugged it off as if it were nothing. Yami moved the blanket that hide her face to see red eyes and a trembling lip.

“Amara, what's wrong?” he asked as she sat up and looked at him. Yami pulled her into a hug to try to make her feel better.

“Nothing,” she lied throw her teeth. `How? Why? Why did they want us dead? Why did they lie to us? Where are Darien, Rini, and Pluto? Are they alive?' Amara thought trying to stop the tears that threaten to fall.

“It's okay to cry,” Yami whispered as Amara cried hugging him back.

 

With Darien

 

Darien walked in the dead of night with a little bundle in his arms. He looked like heck. His cloths were torn and he had bruises on his arms and face. He took off his jacket that was black and kept the little bundle that was crying.

“Amara, Hotaru, Pluto,” he said as rain started to fall.

 

With Pluto

 

Pluto walked up to a castle that looked nice enough to let someone sleep there for the night, but that wasn't the real reason Pluto was walking up to the castle. The real reason was because the person that lived in the castle, was Pegasus.

She knocked on the large door to see that guard had opened the door. Now she looked like a normal woman who got caught in the rain. She was wearing a black shirt that had long sleeves and a skirt that was black and it went to her ankles.

“May I come in?” she asked as the guards nodded.

“Yes,” they led her to where Pegasus was reading in his HUGE library. He looked up from his book and smiled when he noticed the female.

“Well, hello,” he said as he put the book down.

“Hello,” the guards left leaving them both alone.

“What are you doing here?” he asked noticing the blood stain on her skirt, “and what happened?”

“I need your help,” she said.

“I can see that,” he said pointing to the blood stain.

“It's a long story,” she said as he nodded and pulled up a chair for her.

 

With Hotaru the next Morning

 

Kaiba had this smirk on his face as he put on his duel disk. Hotaru who had just woken up, looked at him because she wasn't use to this Kaiba who only cared about winning.

“Hello, Seto,” she said as Kaiba just went past her.

“Hello,” he said with an odd gleam in his eyes. Kaiba looked down at the card that was called `Death Rose' it had a large black rose on it, but it was connected to a chain.

“What are you doing?” she asked as he slowly walked out the door.

“I am going to duel Yami,” he said as he walked outside with the limo all ready to go.

“Can I come?”

“I guess I could use a cheer leader.” Hotaru looked at him with anger drowning in her eyes. Kaiba pretended that he didn't see it.

 

With Yami

 

Yami hadn't said anything about last night and neither did Amara. Everyone was in front of the game shop thinking of something to do when they saw a black limo drive up to them.

“Great, it's rich boy,” Joey said as Allister noticed another figure inside.

“Ha, mutt,” Kaiba said as he opened the door and got out. Amara's eyes widen when her eyes met with violet. Hotaru's eyes widen when her eyes met with navy blue.

“What do you want, Kaiba?” Yami said as he noticed a female come out of the limo. She was looking at Amara who was looking back at her.

“A little duel,” he said as Yami rolled his eyes with annoyance.

“What is going to make this different?” Tea asked as Hotaru looked at Allister who looked back at him.

“This,” he said as he showed a card.

“One card isn't going to make a difference!” Joey said.

“Idiotic as always,” Kaiba said as Joey tried to kill him.

“JOEY!!” Tea yelled hitting him on the back of the head.

“Hotaru…” Allister whispered as Kaiba looked at him.

“What are you doing here?” Seto asked looking at Allister.

“I have every right to be here,” he said looking at him.

“Well, never mind! Get ready to duel!” Seto said as Yami got his duel deck ready.

“Let's duel,” they both said as everyone stood back. Amara grabbed Hotaru's hand and squeezed it as Hotaru squeezed it back. Hotaru watched this new Seto that she had never seen duel. He almost seemed evil in away to her. Dark, the one word that never came to mind when she first met him. She thought that he was just misunderstood. (Behind these Hazel Eyes comes on)

“This card forces you to play all three of your Egyptian god cards!” Seto said as the three creatures came out.

“What a foolish mistake,” Yami said as Kaiba smirked.

“I play this card! Black roses of the dead!” Hotaru flinched when he said that.

“Seto! Don't play that card!” Hotaru screamed as she ran up to him and grabbed his arm that held the card.

“Let go!” he yelled as Hotaru held on tighter.

“Kaiba, something isn't right about that card!” she screamed.

“How do you know?!” he yelled as he pushed her off of him. “Your not worth my time!” he yelled as Hotaru's eyes widen. “You should be grateful that I even let you live in my house! But you do nothing to show it!” Hotaru looked at him for a minute then got up and ran. Allister looked at Kaiba with pure anger for a second then ran after her. Amara ran after them after looking at Yami.

“Kaiba…” Yami said even though he didn't know the girl very well, but it was easy to see that the girl had trusted Seto Kaiba.

“What?” he said as he placed the card on his duel disk. A strange black energy came out of it.

 

With Hotaru and her POV

 

Why? What? I trusted him! I thought…I thought he was different, but I see that I was wrong. I trusted you! You made me feel alright for once after everything the scouts did to me! I thought you would be the special person in my life! I can't believe I started to have deeper feelings for you!

 

Allister's POV

 

I knew this was going to happen. Kaiba! Why do you enjoy hurting people so much? Why? What did she do to you that causes you to hurt her? I know I was forward with her, but I didn't know how to express my feelings for her. I just wanted her…so much.

 

No one's POV

 

Hotaru felt the rain falling against her back. She fell on the ground feeling grace tickle her legs. She knew she was in the park. Kaiba took her there once, but…

 

Flash Back

 

“Where are we going?” she asked as Kaiba dragged her to the park.

“To the park.” He said.

“Why?”

“I want to show you something,” he said as he softly lead her to a tree that had just bloomed.

“Oh wow,” she said breathless.

“I know,” he saw a small smile play across his pale lips.

“Thank you,” she said as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Hotaru didn't notice it.

“Here,” he said as he caught a cherry blossom and gave it to Hotaru. She smiled and took it causing her fingers to intertwine his. If you didn't know them, you'd think that they were a couple holding hands, showing there love for one another.

 

End of flash back

 

Hotaru just fell on the ground letting the blossoms fall in her hair. She felt someone pick her up and softly stroke her hair. She opened her eyes to see Allister with tears in his eyes.

“He's always been like this,” he whispered as Hotaru shut her eyes tightly not wanting to believe that this was happening.

“Why?” she asked. (Song changes and it turns into The Voice within)

“I don't know,” he said as he lightly squeezed her.

“Thank you…” she said as Allister said.

“I'm sorry to be forward with you, but I didn't know how to tell you,” he said as Hotaru looked at him.

“Tell me what?” Allister felt his cheek turn red as she asked that.

“Ummm, well,” he said, but was interrupted.

“HOTARU!!” Amara cried as she fell to her knees.

“You know each other?” Allister asked at Hotaru nodded and let go of him and Amara hugged her.

“Amara,” she said as she held on to her.

“I missed you,” she said.

“I missed you too,” Hotaru said smiling.

 

 

With Kaiba

 

“Kaiba, what did you do?” Yami asked as darkness surrounded both of them.

“I don't know,” he said as darkness covered his eyes.

 

Someplace else

 

“You fool! Kaiba, I knew you would take that card as soon as you saw it and soon Hotaru will be mine,” an evil voice laughed in the darkness.

Next time: Kaiba finds out the mistake he made with Hotaru, but will she take him back when he asks her for forgiveness? An what does Allister have to say to all this and what about that creepy voice?
