Serena stood slilently before yelling."HE'S your boyfriend that you've been babbling on and on about for the past two months?!" Serena choked out in disbelief, pointing to semi-amused man. Ann moved over to Darien and wrapped her arm around his arm. Smiling, she gazed up at the man. "He's perfect", she said dreamily and completely heart eyed. Serena almost gagged at the sight before her. ' What in the world does Ann see in this guy?' She pondered to herself.
The day was just getting worse by the minute. "Listen baby, I don't mean to bail out on you and your friend," Darien said, ephisizing the word friend, causing Serena cheek to become a adorable shade of pink. "But I have to my school work." Ann pouted for a moment before releasing her boyfriend's arm. "Fine." she stated flatly.
Darien wrapped one arm around Ann's waist, using the other to push her chestnut colored hair out of her face before placing a passionate kiss on her lips. Serena groaned inwardly, wondering how much more of this she would have to endure from Ann. Then a question popped into her mind. If Ann was like this, did that mean that all her other friends whom had significant others were like this as well? The thought brought pictures to her mind that she did not want to see. Thus destroying any appetite she had left after the PDA that she'd witnessed ealier. Serena couldn't explain it but whenever she was around someone with their significant other, she felt some what alienated.
Serena snapped back to reality at Ann's questioning voice and noticed that Darien had left. "Sere, are you feeling okay?" Serena blinked once or twice before giving Ann an answer. "Yes, of course I'm felling okay." smiling half heartedly, "what would make you ask a stupid question like that?" Serena laughed coldly and waved her hand, dismissing the thought. Ann was stumped at how her friend was behaving. Grabbing her book bag, Serena smiled and waved goodbye to her friend.
As Serena walked home she recalled all the times Ann had talked for hours, both in person and on the phone, about her unimaginably good looking boyfriend and how he was perfect in every aspect. Perfect? Him? In what way was that jerk "perfect"? What was so special about him? Ann must be lowing her standards, Serena giggled to herself, once again lost deep in her thoughts. Oblivious to anything around her, she walked directly into somebody. "Ouch! watch were your going!" Serena, while brushing herself off, snapped. "And what are you going to do if I don't blondie?" Serena's eyes widened and slowly began moving up until hers locked with another pair eyes, only they were an off shade of indego.
In that split second every insult or remark she was about to spit back at the person disappeared. "Oh it's you... aren't you supposed to be kissing Ann's ass or doing you school work or something?" Serena sugested, in hopes that Darien would get the point. Darien only raised an eyebrow in interest. "No, not really." He said nonchalently as her shrugged. So she's trying to get rid of me, huh? Well little girl it's going to take more than that to do it, he thought smugly to himself. Dropping her head, she growled in frustration and clenched her fists. God did he have a way of crawling under her skin. "Oh, just get lost why don't you.." It never ends, she screamed mentally, rubbing her temples. "And what if I don't? You going to throw another exam paper at me?" Even if it killed she would never admit that the guy actually had some sense of humor. The thought made her giggle a bit as a wicked idea formed in her mind and a look of pure confusion was planted firm on Darien's face.
Without even a second thought Serena strutted over to the tall man and kissed him on the cheek, then made her way past him and headed home, leaving Darien speechless. Darien stood frozen as the high school girl walked down the street, unable to explain what had just occurred, the retreated to the safety of his apartment to replay the days events. Neither one knew of the feeling the bubbly blonde had ignited with each other.
