~~**Chapter Four**~~

"Oh wow Rei, look at this!" Minako gasped pointing to yet another dress displayed in a store window.

"Oh, wow." Rei replied listlessly. They had been shopping all day, and the miko was getting more annoyed by the second.

"This would look so great on you! You have to try it on!" Minako said, grabbing Rei's hand and practically dragging her into the store.

"Minako, please, no more." The raven haired girl said, pulling back on Minako's hand.

"Oh, Rei, just one more, please?" The Senshi of Love said, giving Rei huge puppy dog eyes she knew the miko wouldn't be able to refuse.

"Uh, fine. Just don't look at me like that." Minako's face split into a huge grin "You know, if you smile any wider, your face just might break." Minako giggled and led Rei to the dressing rooms.

All through the store, women were bustling around trying to get at the clothes on sale. Cashiers were wildly ringing up items, and other employees were trying desperately to please everyone at once. It was absolute shopping chaos.

"Here, save this one for us and I'll go grab…" Minako stopped. Her eyes widened and her grip on Rei's hand tightened "Do you feel that?"

"Yes, it's-horrible." The miko's face was very serious. A dark, ominous presence had filled the store. It seemed to be pressing down on the two Senshi, trying to crush them entirely. All talk had ceased abruptly. Everyone else had also felt that something was wrong.

"Why, hello ladies. Having fun?" A voice asked behind the girls. They whipped around to face a black haired woman with cruel blue eyes. Her huge wings were folded behind her and a small grin was beginning to creep across her lips.

"Who…who…" Rei faltered. The woman's smirk grew to a grin. She replied "Who am I? Well, that's for me to know and you to find out." She took a step towards the girls. They stumbled backwards. Just the mere presence of this creature made talk or movement barely possible. What was she capable of?

"Y-you're t-the one t-that k-killed Ami!" Minako stammered, clutching onto Rei's sleeve for support. Rei looked at her. She had been thinking the same thing.

"No, I have to admit that that was one of my youma." She took another step towards Minako and Rei "But you girls are very lucky. You get to be destroyed by me." She laughed. Her laugh held not even the slightest trace of joy. The two Senshi looked at each other and saw the same fear reflected in one another's eyes, the fear that they were going to die. This fear was not new to them. They had felt it many times before, but this time it held a sort of certainty. They knew that this time, their fear was about to become reality. Well, if they were going to die, then they weren't going down without a fight.

A woman somewhere in the store screamed, which seemed to jolt the rest out of their frozen state of fear. Everyone began screaming and running out of the store. This didn't seem to phase Nienev one bit. All her attention was focused on the girls. The two Senshi gave a silent prayer of thanks for that.

"Ready?" Rei whispered.

"Ready." Minako answered back. In unison they yelled "MARS CRYSTAL POWER MAKE-UP, VENUS CRYSTAL POWER MAKE-UP!" When the two girls were in full uniform, they sprang to the side, only to be stopped in midair. They looked over to see Nienev with her arm outstretched. With a flick of her wrist, the girls were sent flying headlong into the wall. They landed on the ground with a thud.

"She must have some sort of telekinetic power." Rei said, jumping up.

"That's exactly what I was thinking." Minako replied, getting up a little more slowly.

"Well, lets show her what we can do-FIRE SOUL!" Nienev rolled her eyes and lazily put up her arm. Sailor Mars's attack was sent flying back at the girls. They barely had time to jump out of the way.

"What the…?" Rei questioned.

"Let me give it a try. VENUS LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!" This, however, had the same effect. The two Senshi were more ready for it this time, so they avoided Venus's attack without trouble. Nienev laughed again.

"So cute" She said to herself. Then, louder, she said "It's been fun girls, but alas, all good things must come to an end." At this, she took a step back so she was facing sideways. Her wings extended out to their fullest as her arm slowly rose until it was parallel with the floor. A small ball of red light began to form in her hand. Rei and Minako tried desperately to move, but found that they were completely unable.

The black haired woman turned her palm up toward the petrified girls. The ball of light grew to a large orb.

"Bye, bye." Time seemed to stop as a silent blast of red energy sped towards and engulfed the two Senshi. Their screams were lost in the huge explosion that followed.

Police, firemen, and ambulances arrived just then; two seconds too late. They hurriedly cleared the street of onlookers. The crowd whispered excitedly to one another. The women that had been in the store looked on horrified. There had been two girls in there. Had they gotten out in time?

And floating above the now decimated street corner, Nienev sat with her arms and legs crossed an insane smile on her wan face.
