The sun rose, and up they were. Of course, it did take a good 20 minutes for Endymion to finally wake Serenity up. After they ate breakfast they continued their journey.

 

“Are we almost there? It's been days and days, how do you even know that were going in the right direction?” Serenity whined.

 

“Because I know.” Was Endymion's reply, followed by a long sigh.

 

Serenity yawned. She soon started humming a song. The same song that Endymion heard when he woke up near the river. He was trying to tune her out, but curiousity pushed him to ask,

 

“What is the name of that song?”

 

Serenity stopped humming and directed her clear blue eyes at him, “Hmm?”

 

“That song you were humming, what is the name of it?”

 

“Oh…I don't know, I used to sing it to Shaoa when she would get scared.”

 

“I see.”

 

Serenity yawned.

 

Endymion looked at her out of the corner of his eye. She was such a mystery. He looked straight ahead and stopped in his tracks.

 

“We're here.”

 

Serenity looked at him and followed his gaze to little hills with houses built in them or on top of them. A few people were in the surroundings. She slowed down her pace.

There were people there. She was not prepared for this. Endymion was alone, she could handle one person, but she hasn't been in society for 5 years!

 

Endymion observed her. She was at her destination. This was their bargain, he was to drop her off at Montdell Shires and he would continue to Chando Kingdom where they thought him dead. Finally he would continue solitary, the way it's always been. “She was getting on my nerves anyways.” He convinced himself.

 

They walked to the small village, there was no rush, no rush at all. When they finally got there, Serenity's baby blues opened wide like saucers, looking all around her, admiring the small huts called houses, that she learned from Endymion. Asking questions was now her profession. Kids were laughing and running around the visitors.

 

They were invisible which releived Serenity. Montdell Shires was maybe known to be crossed by travelers from all over Gaia but she was still weary. She clung on to Shiva like her life depended on it and stayed close to Endymion which he noticed.

 

“Since it's a small society maybe we could ask if they know where your friedns are.” He suggested.

 

Serenity looked unsure but slowly nodded. Endymion stopped and looked around to who he could ask. They went over to a small market where he was going to buy food anyways. As he purchasing he thought it a good time to ask,

 

“Say would you know any…” he looked at Serenity expectantly.

 

She cleared her throat nervously and looked at the ground, “Umm, would you by any chance know Berily, Paige and Shaoa?”

 

The old shop owner nodded. “Yes, they live on that little hill over there.” He pointed to the north and on top of a little similar hill was a small hut.

 

“Thank you.” She said.

 

Endymion didn't bother to say thanks. It was a bad habit of his. They walked away and towards the house. He heard her clearing her voice nervously once more.

 

“Thanks Endy, I owe you big time.”

 

He stayed silent. There was nothing to say.

 

They marched up the small hill toward the little house and stood in front of the door. Endymion waited for her to knock but when he noticed she wasn't going to he did.

 

After a few seconds a tall girl with light brown hair and eyes of a pinkish color answered the door. She was shocked to see a handsome warrior and checked him out. As her eyes looked to his side and saw the blond she dropped her book that she was holding and brought her hands to her mouthg.

 

“My lord, Serenity?? What on earth are you doing here?”

 

Serenity didn't know what to say, obviously she wasn't expecting that reaction. She was imagining them to hug her and greet her not question why she was here. What a silly quesiton!

“Well, I'm here to see you guys.”

 

Two other girls showed up from behing the tall one, they were shorter, but their hair and eyes were of the same color as the previous one. It was clear they were all related. The shortest one ran toward Serenity and hugged her.

 

“SERR! I thought I KNEW I would see you again, big sis always said no, but I knew, I knew!”

 

Serenity's lips grew into the biggest smile Endymion's ever seen. She hugged her back

“Holy crap, you grew Shaoa!”

 

The too women at the door smiled at Serenity, althougt Endymion knew the smiles were fake.

 

“Come inside! Paige make tea!!” The girl know as Paige nodded and went inside.

 

Shaoa only then noticed Endymion, “Who's this?”

 

“Oh that's Endy! It's thanks to him that I'm here!” Serenity was glowing with happiness.

 

“Then come in, come in!”

 

Endymion let Arago eat grass, his horse would never leave him and went into the house, as Serenity laid Shiva on the grass near the horse. She quickly followed inside.

 

As they sat Shaoa was burting with questions while Serenity answered. The two oldest stayed quiet as did Endymion.

 

Hours passed but the talked never died out. Endymion got up, and looked at Serenity.

 

“I'm just gonna go check on Arago.”

 

Outside the sun was setting, he went over to Arago and petted him. He could feel someone behind him and looked back. Berily was standing a few meters away from him.

She looked angry, glaring at him and all.

 

“Why did you bring her here?!” she hissed.

 

Endymion's eyes narrowed, “Excuse me?”

 

“You heard me! Why the hell did you bring her here?!”

 

He was confused, wasn't this supposed to be a big happy reunion?

 

Berily grunted in anger, “Don't you understand, do you think it was a big coincidence that we left her in a deserted area where no humans go?! How the hell did you meet anyways?!”

 

As he was about to reply she cut him off, “You take her with you! We don't want her here, they'll come! You bastard, you fell into a trap!”

 

“What the fuck are you talking about you bitch?! Will you calm down?! It's you who a bastard! Leaving a twelve year old on her own! What, did you kidnap her from her parents because you didn't like her and left her in the middle of nowhere?”

 

“You don't know anything you fucking asshole! We found her, no memory of her own, lost in the storm, we took her in our shelter. Everything was fine, until they starting showing up! She's a damn witch that's what she is, and you are going to take her with you, it took a lot of work for us to live normal again now you'll be cursed but that's none'my bussiness. Leave NOW!”

 

“Hey, she's not my damn responsibility awright?! She followed me here, it's not like I invited her to come along, she said she had friends here!”

 

They were now yelling at the top of their lungs and hadn't noticed Serenity standing in the door frame with Shaoa.

 

Serenity's face was heartbreaking, but she didn't cry, “Sorry for the trouble, I'll leave and don't worry Endymion I won't follow.”

 

“No Ser! Don't leave!” Shaoa had tears to her eyes, Serenity was the sweetest girl she had ever met.

 

Serenity ignored her, picked up her side bag and Shiva and started walking away.

 

Endymion grunted took Arago and followed after her. For a few minutes they walked in silence and when they got out of Montdell Shires Serenity finally spoke.

 

“You can go.”

 

“I don't want to leave you alone.”

 

“I'm not your responsibility, I can take care of myself.”

 

“I know, but what if we see other trapped animals and you destroy your hands trying to save them?”

 

“I'll deal.”

 

“There are dangerous men out there.”

“I'll be fine.”

 

Endymion sighed. “I'm sorry about what I sai-“

 

“No your not, and you're right I just tagged along following you like a child, but I can take care of myself, no worries.” She turned around and forced a smile on to try and convince him.

 

Of course he was not a fool, “I know you can take care of yourself, but I… it a long way till Chando Kingdom and I'll have no one to talk to, how bout it?” He offered a smile. “What am I doing? BEGGING?”

 

Serenity looked down to the ground. “mmmkay…”

 

“Wow you're a push-over.”

 

“I AM NOT!”

 

And Endymion laughed.
