Prologue - New Worlds

Serena lay on her bed and looked around her room. Her last battle as Sailor Moon was a year ago today. EXACTLY a year ago today. It had fun at first, not having to worry about saving the world, but in truth she missed it. She missed becoming Sailor Moon. She missed the feeling she was actually good at something and that she was helping. But now she just had emptiness, and the overwhelming feeling that she was no longer needed.
Worst of all, when she was around her friends she acted normally, so no one knew of her depression... no one but her diary. She was doing okay with Darien, when they weren't fighting because she just wasn't talking to him. He didn't know why, and their relationship was hurting because of it. Reenie, well, Reenie was completely oblivious as to anything that was happening between them. She was still her carefree self
Serena sighed and stared at her ceiling. It was so quiet. She looked outside and saw a single star shining through the clouds.
Silently she made a wish, just so that things could be like they used....
Little did she know that soon she'd want to take that wish back.

She covered up under her blanket, closed her eyes, and slowly fell asleep.

Deep in the darkness of the Fujito cave of legends, a small diamond shone through the puddle it lay in, lighting up the cave. This was the Saji Daimond, a highly valuable, very deadly, and VERY powerfully treasure that was never found.
In ancient times the Fujito cave of legends was a shrine to the Gods, Goddesses, and demons of the underworld. Many people came to worship them so they would bring their wrath upon their village. They'd walk inside the cave, leave food and precious jewels on a small stand, then walk up to the alter of the snake demon, Seno, and bow before the statue.
One day a wanderer walked inside the cave looking for shelter during a storm. He was low on food, and hadn't eaten a decent meal in three days. Being a foreigner to these parts and not knowing of the demons and Gods, he ate some of the food, and drank some of the water.
The next day when the people found him wandering out of the woods and heard what he'd done, they were scared and angry. An elder told the wanderer of the tribute in return for the safety of their village. At that moment the demons began to attack, lead by the vile snake demon.
To save the the people of the village the wanderer used his magic trapped the Gods and Goddesses inside a small diamond for all eternity, never to be released. But in this task he mortally wounded himself.
The people were amazed and greatful, and gave the wanderer help, but alas, it was not to be. The next day he died.
The people placed the wanderer in a stone coffin, and put it inside the cave. In rememberence of his good deed they placed upon the stone a writing:
For the wanderer who travels through earth without fear. Let him continue to walk and live on in spirit. For he is one who will never be forgotten. He is the sage of Fujito, and forever honored.

It is said that one day the demons will return and seek out the one who banished their leaders into exile and free them from the crystal prison.

"And that is the story of the Fujito cave of legends." violet haired Mari finished the story for her younger sister Lisa.
"Will they ever come back?" Lisa asked.
"OF COURSE NOT!!! THAT'S WHY I SAID THEY WERE TRAPPED THERE FOR ALL ETERNITY!!" Mari shouted exasperated.
"Oh." she said simply.
"I've told you a story, now will you go to bed?"
"Fine." Lisa said. She rolled on her, stuffed her right hand under her pillow, squeezed it like a teddy bear, and fell asleep. This was it, one of the few moments of slience when she was happy to have a younger sister, mostly...Mari got up off her sister's bed and stretched, her long violet hair falling to her waist. She sighed and pulled it back into a ponytail.
She walked into the hall and into her room which was covered with Sailor Moon articles, pictures, and other things like dolls and comic books. Honestly it disgusted her a bit, so much over one person who they hadn't seen in a year. She picked up her diary and began to write-
Dear Diary, Wendesday April 5, 2002
It was just another day, another normal day. Normal for the past year anyway. I long for some action, I long fora mystery, an enemy of any kind!
Mori says I'm just being pathetic, but I can't help it. It's been so long since we had any fun. I know the others feel the same way. If only things could be like they used to be.....

She closed her diary, fell on her bed, and went to sleep instantly with the tale of the Fujito cave of legends still on her mind.

The Next Day

Serena woke up. She felt very groggy. She waited a few minutes and things came into focus.
She suddenly shot up in the bed which she lay. THIS WASN'T HER ROOM!! So... Where was she?
She jumped out of bed and looked around. The walls were a shade of violet, the curtains were like silk. CURTAINS??? SHE DIDN'T HAVE CURTAINS!!! SHE HAD BLINDS!!!
She ran out of her room and down the stiarcase into the kitchen. She sighed. Her mother was there, cooking breakfast as usual. She went to tap her on the shoulder and try to get some answers about what happened to her room.
"Mom?" she asked casually. The woman turned to look at her. This was not her mother. The woman standing before had long silvery hair with blond hairlights. Who was she?
"Oh, Belle, you're awake! I was about to think you were going to sleep in again." the woman said to her happily. Belle?
"Uh, what happened to my room? Where am I?" Serena asked. The woman frowned.
"What're you talking about? You've loved your room like that since you were five. Don't tease me today Belle, I just don't have the energy for. I'm already worn out as it is."
"Uh, yeah, sorry." What could've happened?

Mari woke to someone shaking her. she dully opened her eyes to see her twin brother, Mori shaking her trying to wake her up.
"Mari, there's something on the news you should see." he told her. She got up out of bed and walked into the living room. She stared dully at the television which was playing the news.
"A disturbance was reported last night in the center of Tokyo. Witnesses of over a hundred reported seeing a sort of vortex in the sky. Supposedly, it looked like a black hole. The witnesses are claiming that this was the cause of the severe rain last night and the loss of power for over two million in the Tokyo area. Flash flood warnings ended around two 'o clock this morning, and power was regained exactly one hour and fourty-seven minutes later.
"Police have no comment on this matter." the news reporter finished. The screen switched to another news report.
Mari stared blankly at the tv screen. What?
"So I guess you'e trying to say we should investigate?" Mari said as she sighed.
"What do you think? It doesn't sound like nothing to me..." Mori retorted.
"That's because you're paranoid." Mari mumbled.
"WHAT?" Mori asked through gritted teeth.
"Nothing. Okay, I'll check it out."

Serena walked out of the house. Okay, the calender said this was saturday, that means there's no school. Which is good, because now I can figure out whatever the heck is wrong!!!
"Serena...."
"WHAT?" Serena turned around and said annoyed. But there was no one there.
"But.. I, I-" Serena stared confused. She shrugged it off and continued to walk.
"Serena...."
THERE IT WAS AGAIN! She turned around, going in circles, searching for the source. She couldn't find it! She took a deep breath to get herself under control. She turned around and started to walk away again.
"Come find me Serena..." she heard the voice say.
"Who, who are you?" she asked.
"Come find me..." she heard it say again. What could it be.
"Where are you?" she asked.
Suddenly visions flooded her mind. Woods, rain fall, ice, dead trees, and a cave. She knew where it was.
She started to run west, away from the city and the people, as fast and as far as her feet would take her to her destination.
Her heart was pounding in her chest. What was this place? Why was she running to somewhere she had never once been to? Who was the voice calling her? She didn't know, and she wasn't if she wanted to. BUT SHE HAD TO KNOW! This seemed to the thing in a million miles that remotely familiar.
But wait... If I've never been here, how can it be familiar? Is it just this feeling? This feeling of fear and suspense inside me? It seems so much like when I first found out-
Serena stopped dead in tracks. Like when I first found out I was Sailor Moon and had another life before this one... she finished the thought.
"Come to me... Come find me..."
That was it, she wouldn't stop until she found this place, she wouldn't rest until she knew where she was and how she got there. I can't.

Mari felt something sharp and cold peirce her heart. She'd had this feeling before. Something was happening. Something supernatural.
What is this? I know this feeling? Where is it coming from.
Then she felt something, something pounding at her heart. She saw flashes in her mind, heard the sound of heavy breathing, and watched through the flashes as footsteps pounded against the gound, running somewhere. Trying to find something, searching for something, but knowing all along the answer to her questions. What could this be?
She felt the sensation of running to somewhere you knew. She felt the loss of breath, the doubt, and the hope from the person running. And then a second later, in one simple second everything was normal once again.
"Miss, are you allright?" said a man leaning over her. She had gathered quite the crowd.
"Excuse me?"
"You were walking when you suddenly collapsed. Are you all right miss?" he asked again.
"Uh," she struggled to regain her thoughts.
"Miss?"
"Yes, I- I'm fine." she answered, taking his outstretched hand to help her up.

Serena reached the cave. She was panting heavily from running.
"Okay, I'm here." she said as soon as she was able to speak.
"Come inside, come find me Serena..." said the voice. She could make out what it sounded like now. A whisper, with some sort of accent. It was male, and it was not in any way comforting. It sounded like death, it sounded like blood. How could something sound like blood? It felt strange, that was all she was sure of.
There was a scent she couldn't identify as she entered the cave. It smelt of must, mixed with mud, and something else she, but she couldn't place it.
She looked around. It was dark, she couldn't see anything, not even the part of the cave she came in through. She reached for the wall, but couldn't find it. Where am I?
This cave never seemed to end.
It was then she heard something and saw a flicker of light. She looked toward and it became solid and constant, almost as if guiding her to it.
She walked in small steps, being as careful as possible. There it was, lying on something long and made of stone. It suddenly brightened the room.
Serena looked around. It was odd. There were old statues and carvings. She walked up to the snake statue.
"Yes..... Serena, free me, save me..."
"DON'T TOUCH THAT!!" Serena heard from behind, startling her and making her pull her hand away.
"Just who do you think you are? How did you find this place? What are you do here?" a girl asked Serena with a very serious and dangerous face.
"I- I- I followed the voice and my memory." Serena answered. It was the truth.
The girl took a step toward her and Serena backed away, bumping into the long stone case. The whole cave lit up with a blinding light.

Mori stopped and stared, as did everyone else, there was the vortex, right in the sky... Just staying there...

"Hmmm.... Interesting. You see, I knew they'd lead us right to it." said a male voice from outside the cave.
"Yes, you did call this one." said a female voice.
The diamond stopped shining the blinding light, and torches hung on the walls of the cave lit. There stood two, people? They looked like people, in a sense. They looked like the people Serena used to fight from the Negaverse.
"Who're you?" the girl asked through gritted teeth.
"Oh, did we forget to introduce ourselves?" the woman asked the man sarcastically.
"How rude of us." he answered. They grinned.
"It doesn't really matter. If you'd just let us get what we came for, we'll be on our way." the woman said.
"I know what you want. You want that jewel, don't you?" the girl asked.
The woman simply smiled a smile that said 'and you'll give it us, or else'. She nodded her head.
The girl turned back to Serena.
"You stay there." the girl told her angrilly. Serena nodded feebly.
"I don't think she wants us to have it." the woman said unhappily.
"I suppose we'll just have to convince her." the man replied.
The girl braced herself for anything they could throw at her. They weren't planning on holding back.
The man's eyes began to glow dark and turned completely black. He walked toward her.
He tried to punch her, but she blocked, aiming a kick at his stomach which unfortunately missed.
She went to punch him, but he dodged and grabbed her arm, twisting it and sending hard into a wall. Serena could hear the creak of bones. The girl's pain showed in her face, but she wouldn't give up easily.
She struggled to move her other arm, but it was stuck between herself and the wall. She groaned as her arm continued to creak while the man continued to twist it, smiling evily.
"NO!" Serena yelled just before it would've snapped. The room became brighter, everything became distorted. She tried to run and help the girl, but the woman shoved her hard against the stone case, Serena's right hand landing right on top of the small diamond.
That was it, the room went blank. Serena felt some sort of energy, like electricity, run through her body. And she fell into the deepest sleep she had ever had.
