Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Sailor Moon E(ternals) ❯ Secrets Revealed! The Truth About Sailor Sun. ( Chapter 10 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N: I think the reason I like Shingo and Ami together so much is because I connect with Ami/Sailor Mercury most in the story. Of course, I also love all love stories. I'm really excited about Jupiter's and Venus's story…But I digress…

Moonlight Phoenix-I know how it is to be really busy. Since it's the end of the school year, I'm stressing out all over and barely have time for myself. That should change though, because I'm all caught up and I only have a week left…yay!!

Disclaimer: I do not own the Sailor Moon characters. Naoko Takeuchi has that illustrious honor. I do however own the villains, Sailor Sun, Sailor Aphrodite, the story line, and, of course, the senshi's Eternal transformations and powers…

Chapter 10
Secrets Revealed! The Truth About Sailor Sun.

“Setsuna?” two voices chimed at once while the third asked, “Who are you?”

“Hello, Ami, Mamoru.” Turning to Shingo the green haired senshi of time grinned and asked, “What, Lord Merc? Do you not recognize your own step-sister? I would think, by the way you teased me…”

Shingo looked embarrassed as he started to shake his head, but he stopped before his head finished the first shake. He had an intense look of concentration on his face, and then it lit up as he asked, “Haly?”

Setsuna laughed but shook her head. “I'm called Setsuna in this time, Shingo.”

“Of course, of course…”

Mamoru and Ami watched this conversation with a mixture of confusion and amusement. Setsuna turned towards Ami and said, “I bet you didn't know I was related to the people on Mercury through my step-father, did you? Lord Merc and I were step-siblings during the Silver Millennium and he used to tease and play tricks on me all the time.”

“I wasn't the only one doing the teasing, you know.”

Everyone laughed, but quieted down when Setsuna opened her mouth. “I'm actually here to give you some background information about Sailor Sun. I think it will help you understand her; though,” she said, turning towards Mamoru. “I will talk to Sailor Sun about letting Rei and Yuuichirou go back to their normal lives.”

Setsuna pulled a chair up and sat down next to Ami's bed. She looked at the door to make sure it was closed and leaned back. “Now, where do I begin…?”

Flashback
“Princess Haly, can you play host?”

Haly, the Princess of Plutobowed to her queen, Queen Serenity, and stood up. “I can, your Highness. But who am I to play host to?”

“Well, Princess, Sailor Sun is passing the guardianship over to her daughter, Solana, in a month's time. Sailor Sun wants Solana to spend some time isolated, since she will remain isolated for most of the time she will be Sailor Sun. What better placeto spend time than the furthest place away from her home planet.”

“If you wish, your Highness, I will comply.” Haly bowed again, but flushed. Since her skin was so dark, Queen Serenity didn't notice. The fact of the matter is,Haly thought, I've been noticing Solana during training sessions and…Haly exhaled and looked up at Queen Serenity. The queen smiled and motioned for Haly to follow her.

They walked into the room at the end of the hall and there stood a girl, younger than Haly, with short, spiky, white-blue hair. Running through her hair, was red and gold highlights, which sparkled in the sun. She turned when she heard the sound of the door open and flushed when she saw it was Queen Serenity and Princess Haly of Pluto. “Your Highnesses,” she mumbled, dropping a quick curtsy.

Queen Serenity smiled and held her long white hand out to the frightened young girl. “Come, Solana, meet your host for the next month.” She pulled the two towards each other and placed Solana's hand in Haly's hand. “Solana Sistan of Mercury, this is Princess Haly Chrinus of Pluto. Princess Haly will be the one you will be staying with, my dear.”

“Th…thank you, Queen Serenity, Princess Haly,” Solana stuttered, droppinganother curtsy.

Queen Serenity swept from the room and Haly turned to Solana, grinning a little. “One thing you'll need to learn before you become Sailor Sun is that all the senshi bow to our queen and princess, not curtsy.”

“Oh,” Solana said, blushing furiously.

“Let's clear the air, Solana, shall we? We have a long trip to Pluto and I for onewould hate to travel the whole way in an uncomfortable silence.” Haly grinned, hoping to calm the jumpy young woman down. Besides, it might not make what I'm about to tell her such a shock.

“O…okay, Princess Haly.”

“First off, since you'll be living with me, call me Haly. I've never felt comfortable with my title and since I'll soon be Sailor Pluto full time, my title won't mean a thing. My given name will do.” Haly looked at the girl and blushed, thinking how much she would love to comfort Solana with hugs and kisses. Oh well, words will have to do.“Secondly, I…” Haly had to cough because her heart jumped into her throat as she tried to tell Solana the bold truth. “I don't want to make you uncomfortable, so no matter what I say, understand that you, in no way, have to agree with me. You need to know, though, and I will respect whatever decision you make. I…I find you very…er…attractive, Solana…”

Solana looked at Haly in shockthen started shaking her head. “I don't agree with you…”

Haly's heart stood still and she stopped breathing. Oh, what have I done?

“I don't think I'm attractive at all. I think you are though.” Solana's golden eyes flashed with hidden humor as she started laughing at the look on Haly's face.

Haly started laughing along with Solana and soon, they were holding onto each other trying to catch their breath. “I don't think we'll have an uncomfortable trip, Solana,” Haly said, causing them both to erupt in giggles again.

Once they calmed down, tension filled the room. “Haly,” Solana said, to break the silence.

At the same time, Haly said, “Solana…” And they were off again, giggling and laughing hysterically for no reason.

This time, when they calmed down, instead of letting the tension build, Haly leaned down and gently kissed the girl gasping on the floor.

All the air left Solana's lungs as she felt Haly's lips on hers. She tentatively returned the kiss, grabbing on to Haly's arms to keep her from pulling away.

Haly's elbow's threatened to give out, but she deepened the kiss instead of ending it. When they finally broke apart, both were breathing heavily. Haly sat up and smiled at Solana, knowing she had a “cat that ate the cream” expression on her face. This time, Solana kissed Haly.

The trip to Pluto was silent, but it was a silence that came from two people who recently discovered love in one another.
End Flashback

Flashback
Haly, now full fledged Sailor Plutoknocked on SailorSun's door. “Solana, are you awake?”

“Mmmmmmphmmmmm….”

Haly laughed and walked in, flipping the light crystal on in the process. “Wake up, Sleepy Head. We have to head to Mercury for the induction of their new Princess.”

“I don't want to get up yet, Mom.”

“Mom? I liked it better when you called me…”

“HALY!” Faster than Haly thought was possible, Solana flew out of bed and clampedher hand on her lover's mouth. “Shush, silly.”

“No, that wasn't it either,” Haly said, laughing and pushing Solana's hand away. “You'd better get dressed,” Haly looked down and smirked. “While I like you in just a shirt, I'm sure the Queen and Princess won't.”

“Oh, ha ha.” Within a moment, Sailor Sun stood in front of Haly in her gold fuku.

“I guess I should transform too, huh?”

“Possibly,” Sailor Sun replied dryly, still miffed at being woken up like she was.

“cool off, Sunny,” Haly said, calling her lover by her secret nickname. “I was trying to get you up before Luna came in to do it.”

“Fine, fine, Sets. Now transform.”

Haly transformed and, holding their staffs at an angle best suited for running, took off running down the hall.
End Flashback

Flashback
“…and so it is with great distress that I make the announcement that Hermione, Dowager Queen of Mercury passed away from a massive panic attack when her palace was attacked. It was only due to the actions of these two senshi, Sailors Sun and Pluto, that further deaths were avoided.” King Hermes, King of Mercury motioned the two women up to the stand. “I present the greatest awards Mercury has to offer to the two ofthem.” Reaching down, Hermes brought out a long silver and onyx chain. “To Princess Haly, Sailor Pluto, who is a daughter of Mercury as well, albeit a parental figure removed…” Hermes winked so both Pluto and the assembled audience could see, “I award the Onyx Crest. It is a chain that will allow the carrier to excel in anything he or she wishes to, with no consequences.”

Pluto took the chain with a bow and a mumbled “Thank you, King Hermes.”

“And to Solana, Sailor Sun,” Hermes brought out a long rose gold and amber chain, “I award the Amberose Circlet. It will allow you to carry out whatever is needed without emotions getting in the way.”

Sun took the chain and bowed to the King. “Thank you, your Highness.”

“Both of these hold great value. Honor them, please.”

After the award ceremony was over, Pluto and Sun found a corner so they could be alone. “I wanted to give you this,” Sun said, holding out the Amberose Circlet. “I don't think I deserve it…”

“Sunny…”

“Take it, Sets. You did more work than I did. Plus, I feel uncomfortable taking something form them when they were attacked because of me.”

“Only if you take something from me.”

“Not the Onyx Crest…”

“No,” Pluto replied, untying her front bow and letting the dark red button fall soundlessly to the carpeted hallway. “Take this,” she demanded, holding the length of black ribbon out to her lover. “This should give you more luck than any Onyx Crest and Amberose Circlet ever would.”

“Sets…I…thank you!” Sun cried, throwing herself in Pluto's arms. The two shared a brief kiss before they fell apart, afraid of what people would say if they were caught.
End Flashback

Setsuna sat back, staring at Mamoru. “So you see, Mamoru-sama, Sailor Sun is indeed on our side. She may have hid out for the past several years, but she is here to help.”

“Besides,” Shingo put in, “she told me that Mars was too stubborn to let herself heal unless Sailor Sun kept her quiet and asleep.”

Mamoru started laughing and held up his hands. “Okay, okay. You convinced me. I should go call Usagi. Setsuna?”

“I should go too.”

“Oh, Mamoru. I'd like you to do me a favor,” Ami asked from the bed.

“Yes?”

“Don't tell Usagi about Shingo and I yet. I want to tell her in my own way.”

Mamoru sighed, but nodded. “Alright Ami. But tell her soon, ne?”

“I will.” Once the two left, Ami turned to Shingo with a small, sad smile on her face. “That explains so much about Setsuna-chan.” Shingo raised his eyebrow, but didn't say anything. “She's always been quiet and reserved. Minako thought she was actually in love with Endymion, but I wasn't sure. She didn't seem the type. Now I know she's been grieving for her lover for over a thousand years.”

************

When Ami got out of the hospital the next day, she decided she needed to tell her best friend about her relationship with said best friend's younger brother. “Shingo,” she called to her lover, “I think it's time we tell Usagi.”

Shingo sighed, but nodded. “How?”

Ami smiled. As much as Shingo complained about his younger sister, she knew he wanted her approval. “I was planning on calling her.”

“Okay.” Shingo sat down, but, being too nervous to stay that way for long, soon got up and started pacing.

Ami smiled again and fished out a phone card. She dialed Usagi and Mamoru's apartment.

Moshi, moshi?”

“Usagi-chan?”

“Ami-chan. How is Germany? Have you seen Mamo-chan? Did he tell you…?”

“Hi, Usagi. Yes, I saw Mamoru yesterday. Usagi…” Ami shushed Shingo, who was nervously talking to himself. “Usagi, the guy I told you about in my letter…”

“Yes?” she asked and Ami could tell her interest was caught.

“He's…he's my Guardian. He's called Kamen no Mercury and he was known as Lord Merc during the time of the Moon Kingdom.” Chicken!

“Wow, Ami. So you now have a gua…but wait, why do you need a Guardian?”

“There's a new enemy, but I think I can handle it on my own…Well, Kamen no Mercury can handle it on our own. We think that Mars was attacked by the same enemy. I'll let Mamoru tell you the rest when he gets home.”

“Okay. How is it that you know him, Ami? Did you meet him on your way to Germany or does he live there?”

“I'm actually calling to tell you that. As I said before, he's the one I told you about in the letter. He didn't believe I could love him until just recently.” Ami smiled at Shingo, causing the man to blush.

“Who is he?”

“Here, I'll let you talk to him.”

Shingo's face went white, but he took the phone. He mouth the words, “I'm going to get you,” to Ami as he took the phone.

Promises, promises,” Ami whispered back.

“Hey, Big Sister.”

“Shingo, what are you doing on the line. Ami was going to…AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!”

“I think she figured it out,” Shingo said, handing the phone back to Ami and massaging his ear.

“Usagi…”

“How…why…?”

“Usagi!”

“I…when…?”

Usagi!

“Because…!”

Usagi!

“I don't…”

USAGI!

“What?”

“It wasn't intentional. We were meant to be, like you and Mamoru-san.”

The other end of the line was silent for a few minutes, and then Usagi's cheerful voice piped up. “When is the wedding?”

Shingo, who was just sitting down, missed the seat and fell to the floor, while Ami bent over and started banging her forehead on the table multiple times. “Usagi, you are just sometimes too much.”
