Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Sailor Moon E(ternals) ❯ Minako’s Big Shot. What Will She Do? ( Chapter 12 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N: Moonlight Phoenix-Nope, Pluto still has to swallow her pride, as you'll see soon, but she'll be coming up soon.
This one was easy to write. For some reason the relationship between Venus and her protector just fell into place. Hopefully, as will the others, I hope I kept in character. She was rather easy to write about since I always enjoyed her ditzy-ness. I don't know how often I can post. School has started again and I don't know when I'll have the time to update. I hope that everyone is enjoying this story. Keep in mind that I will be having a lot of chapter with this story and the sequel story. I may try and finish this story before I start another. Again, any questions, comments, concerns, please post a review.
By the way, just to clear up: When I use the word “lover”, I mean it in the traditional sense. In other words, it is the word to describe two people who are in love, NOT the word to describe two people who are in a sexual relationship.

Enjoy the next chapter.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Sailor Moon characters. Naoko Takeuchi has that illustrious honor. I do however own all the new characters and, of course, the senshi's Eternal transformations and powers…ïŠ

Chapter 12
Minako's Big Shot. What Will She Do?

“So,” a tall brunette asked the blond sitting on her kitchen bar, drinking a cup of hot coffee, “What are your plans after you leave here?”

“What?” the blond replied mischievously, “are you trying to get rid of me already?”

In a dry voice, devoid of any inflection, yet still sarcastic, the brunette said, “Yes, Minako-chan, because I really don't like you.”

Minako's blue eyes twinkled as she pretended to be hurt. “Mako-chan, you should be ashamed of yourself.”

Hai, hai,” the brunette replied, exasperated.

“Actually, I'm heading to Kobe next,” Minako responded, flashing a grin at her tall best friend. “There is a producer there who wants to talk to me about his next project. He tells me I'd be perfect for the job.” Minako flipped her blond hair behind her back and gave the “V” symbol with the first two fingers of her right hand.”

Suspicious, Makato asked, “And what exactly would that be?”

Minako flushed slightly and mumbled, “A live action Sailor V movie they're making.”

“Ah-hah! I should have known!”

“Well, can you blame me, Mako-chan? I am the original…”

“Min…a…ko…” The name was ground out in utter exasperation.

Neo-Queen Serenity paced in her throne room, waiting for news from the guards guarding her Guardians. She had set guards when each and every one of her personal guards had been taken over. Her pacing was interrupted when a guard came in and bowed sharply to the queen.

“You asked to be informed when the Guardians came out of their trances?”

“Yes?”

“The Lady Mars has. She said…” The guard cleared his throat and nervously looked at his queen. “She said, `Tell that baka of a queen to get her odango atama butt in here before I go pyro on a poor defenseless maid.'” The guard looked nervously at his queen and prayed to Selene she wouldn't get angry at him.

Neo-Queen Serenity grinned and said, “Thank you. I think you've deserved the rest of the day off for having to tell me that message.”

As the guard scurried off in one direction, the queen walked in the other direction, towards Mars' chambers. When she entered the room, Mars was sitting up, holding Yuuichirou's head in her lap. “Aren! How are you feeling?” Aren? Where the heck did that come from?

“Fine, Serenity, but why in the world did you put Ditio in the bedroom next door? He rolled out of bed, expecting me to be there to stop him.” Mars flushed, thinking of why he rolled over, but hoped the sometimes slow queen wouldn't recognize it.

Serenity recognized the blush for what it was and winked at the Martian Queen. “Why Aren…I'm surprised at you.”

“Why, Serenity?” Aren asked sharply and a little hurt.

“I…I'm not sure. I think I need to talk to Pluto.”

“You think there is something going on with the timeline?”

“Possibly. I'm sorry you were hurt, Ditio. I hope you'll feel better soon.” And with that, the queen bowed out of the room and headed towards the Time Gates to talk with her Time Guardian.

**************

“Minako-chan, what are you doing?”

“Ah, Artemis. I'm just trying to find…ah-hah! Here it is!” Minako exclaimed, coming up with a decorated pen that Artemis faintly recognized. It wasn't until Artemis saw a mixed look of remembrance and pain on Minako's face that he remembered what it was.

“Uh, Minako…”

Minako held up her original Sailor V transformation pen with a look of triumph on her face, and said, “Finally, finally, finally.”

“Uh…Minako?”

“Moon Power Transformation!” For a few seconds, Minako held her arm up in the air, waiting for the transformation to overtake her. When nothing happened, she quietly said, “Moon Power Transformation?” When nothing still happened, she dropped to her knees and with her chin in her hands moaned, “Why can't I transform?”

“Minako…!” The pen fell to the ground as she covered her face with her hands. “Minako-chan,” Artemis said gently, “You will not be able to become Sailor V again.”

“What? Why?” Minako asked, looking up at her white cat.

“You have evolved past her. You will never become Sailor V again, though you still should be able to use the Crescent Compact…” At Minako's guilty face, Artemis stopped and snapped, “What did you do?”

“It doesn't matter right now. The Crescent Compact will work for what I need it for.”

“What exactly do you need it for?” Artemis asked, slightly suspicious.

As an answer, Minako held up the Crescent Compact and shouted, “Crescent Moon Power! Transform! Turn me into an older version of Sailor V for the producer!”

Artemis hung his head and said, “Minako, you are so ditzy.”

************

People on the street swore they saw Sailor V once again running after a bad guy. Problem is, they couldn't find the bad guy and Sailor V seemed to have disappeared into a movie studio.

“Must be an actor,” they all mumbled, shaking their heads at the way these silly actors…acted.

One woman wasn't smiling. In fact, she was staring at the spot “Sailor V” disappeared into, her mind working furiously. She spoke to the shadows behind her. “Umeka! Are you there?”

Hai, Sailor Minerva-sama.”

Baka! It's Masaka when we're in public like this. Do you think you could take the Mind Soul of these stupid actors? It seems like University students are too smart.”

Hai, Masaka-sama. It would be easy.”

Masaka held up the grayish card and said, “Go to it then.”

A shadow covered the card and when it retreated a few seconds later, the card was gone. “As you wish.”

Masaka grinned and disappeared to report to Calcite.

*****************

“Aino Minako. Audition number SV-536BF10. Forward!”

Minako nervously stepped forward in her updated version of Sailor V's uniform and smiled at the audience. She bowed and waited for the instructions.

“You will be working with Brooks Aidan. Audition number KA-267HG29.” A man, a little older than Minako stepped out of the shadows and bowed to Minako first, then to the audience.

Minako stared, this man…he looked achingly familiar to her, but she couldn't place him. Her attention was snapped back by the sound of their instructions.

“Aino…you are Sailor V. Nice work on the uniform by the way, very authentic…You hear someone in trouble, but you are caught in an enemies trap. You are trying to get out, but the person being attacked is getting weaker. You then see Brooks come to the rescue.” The man speaking turned his attention to Brooks. “Brooks, you are Kaitou Ace. You come to the rescue of the person being attacked, then you help Sailor V push back the demons she's facing. At the end, you introduce yourself, and Aino, you introduce yourself. We'll see if that seems to work, then we'll have you kiss if we think the chemistry is right. Ad-lib for right now.”

Minako gulped and sneaked a glance at the man next to her. He looked a little shell-shocked himself. With a quick prayer to someone that her powers wouldn't start working, even though she's not transformed, she got into her role.

***************

Aidan Brooks stood looking at his cousin who had just told him that he might have to kiss this girl in front of the entire studio. If we were in the movie together it would be one thing, but…Jiro, why did you do this? But Aidan knew why his cousin did this. He thought that Aidan needed a wife to take care of him. Jiro, despite being in movies, was a traditionalist. And he had decided this Aino Minako would be the perfect wife for reckless Aidan.

Aidan, for his part felt Jiro was right. Minako would be perfect. Aidan felt a connection with this girl that he had never in his life felt for any other human being. He felt like he knew her, or that he should know her. Before he could work it out, Jiro had shouted, “ACTION!” and Aidan had to act.

***************

After the performance, the producer, Nakamura Jiro, had turned back on his megaphone and said, “Okay, thanks. Now, just to see if the chemistry remains during an intimate scene, I want you to kiss.”

Minako blushed. Surely he's kidding. He had a huge smile on his face after all. Minako looked at her co-actor and noticed his scowl. She was surprised. She thought she had been getting on well with this man.

“Jiro, forget it. If the chemistry is here now, it'll be there later. If you try and force me, I will quit.”

Minako tried not to cry. Here was this very attractive man who did not wanting to kiss her. She held her head up and said, “Nakamura-san, I agree with Brooks-kun. If we had chemistry during that scene, we will have chemistry later.” If he doesn't want to kiss me, I don't want to kiss him.

Jiro held up his hands. “Okay, okay. Fine. Congratulations, you both got the job.”

Avoiding Aidan's gaze, Minako bent over to pick up her mask, which had fallen off during the acting. “I'm sorry, Aino-san. Please forgive my cousin. When he is matchmaking, he can be a little…enthusiastic.”

“Cousin? Matchmaking?”

“My cousin wants me to marry and has decided…well, never mind. Anyway. I refuse to let you be used as a pawn.”

Minako blinked because for a minute, she saw the same man, but he was dressed in orange and gold armor instead of the comfortable work pants and t-shirt. “Oh, okay.”

“I'm glad we'll be working together, Aino-san.”

“I am too. And Brooks-kun? Arigato.”

“You're welcome,” Aidan said as he watched the blond beauty walk away.

*******************

Aidan slowly walked out of the studio after his audition. He needed to think about Aino Minako because she was causing havoc with his memories. He remembered a time he never lived.

Flashback
“Write me, Feste,” a young girl with blond hair and a red bow begged the black haired young man.

“I'll only be gone five years, Afen. You know that it'll go by quicker than you think.”

Afen pouted, sticking her lower lip out. “But it's five years, Feste. I'll be a woman then.”

Feste hid a smile as he looked down at his best friend. “Don't worry, Afen. I'll be back before you know it. And yes…I'll write you.”

Afen's golden smile lit up the entire room. “Thankyouthankyouthankyou!”
End Flashback

What is happening to me? Aidan asked himself as he walked into his apartment. Why do I feel this way? Aidan had opened the door to find a guest seated on his loveseat. “Why am I not surprised?”

“Aidan. I'm sorry about this afternoon, but that little girl…”

“She's not a girl, Jiro. She's a woman…and human. You can not manipulate her like you try to manipulate me…”

“You're angry.”

“Damn right I'm angry, Jiro. Have you ever thought I wanted to marry someone I love? Not any girl that looks pretty.”

Jiro's own temper was flaring. “Have you even looked for a spouse? I've never seen you date…”

“I date…”

“One date does not qualify as you dating, Aidan.”

“I haven't met the right girl…” I have, but I'm not telling you, Jiro.

“Well, you're not getting any younger…”

“Out, Jiro. I'm tired and I want sleep before filming starts tomorrow.”

“Fine, but I wanted to let you know that you should apologize to Aino-san…”

Aidan sighed. “I have…for both of us.”

Jiro grunted, picked up his coat and made sure to slam the door extra hard when he left.

*******************

Umeka stood watching the actors. She saw a young woman with green hair pouring her heart and soul into her performance. Unfortunately, the girl was never left alone. From the moment Umeka found her and decided she would make a good candidate, there was always someone near her. The more people around, the more chance Umeka stood of getting caught, so she bided her time, despite the fact that she knew Minerva would be angry.

“Nothing to do but to wait,” she said to herself, watching as she walked home with three other actors. Umeka was smart. She knew the best bet was to wait it out, so wait it out she did. Around midnight, Minerva showed up.

“Well?”

“I haven't done anything yet. I figured you wouldn't want me to get caught…”

“WHAT? UMEKA, I'M WARNING YOU IF YOU SCREW UP…”

“I won't, Masaka-sama,” Umeka interrupted, hoping to forestall the yelling that Minerva seemed anxious to start. “I will definitely get the target tomorrow.”

“You'd better, or I will personally destroy you!”

Umeka sighed once Minerva had disappeared. It always rankled that, she, the smartest of the demons, got assigned to Hot-Head Minerva. “I will wait…and I will get the target tomorrow.” Umeka settled down for a nice long wait.

The next day, around mid-day, Umeka saw her green haired target step into a dressing room, alone. Now's my chance, she thought, slipping through the shadows into the dressing room after the woman. Umeka threw the Mind Soul Extractor at the woman, causing her to scream. “Good, my dear. Scream, then help me wreck the havoc I so crave…”
