Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Sailor Star or Sailor Wind ❯ Chapter One ( Chapter 1 )
"KONEKO-CHAN!"
Usagi looked up startled. "Haruka-san!" she gasped.
"I think you should watch where you are going, my little kitten". Usagi's expression remained blank. "Neko-chan? Usagi?" Haruka waved her hand infront of Usagi's face. "Odango?"
Usagi jumped again. "Gomen, Haruka-san. My mind was elsewhere. What did you call me?"
"Obviously" replied Haruka, ignoring her question. "Or you would have been looking where you were going".
"Eh?" Usagi looked behind her to see the usually fast and busy road at a standstill, many cars jammed together and some looking pretty banged up. She blinked. "I did that?"
"It's a wonder you got through there alive" grinned Haruka, ruffling Usagi's hair playfully.
"Gerroff!" giggled Usagi, swatting at Haruka's fist. "I'm in my last year of university! You can't do that anymore!"
"Oh can't I?" retorted Haruka, grabbing Usagi in a headlock and ruffling her hair harder.
It was true. Usagi was in her last year of university, and a spirited eighteen year old blossoming into a beautiful young woman. Though they had both matured over the past two years, Usagi's and Haruka's relationship was just as playful as ever, but now they were a bit more understanding of eachother.
"Tell me, Koneko-chan", said Haruka, after releasing a very disgruntled Usagi. "What's troubling you?".
* * *
Not even ten minutes later, and Usagi was sat in Haruka's apartment, looking out over the gorgeous ocean view.
"As you might have guessed, Michiru chose this apartment.
"It's beautiful" breathed Usagi.
"Just like my Michiru" murmured Haruka. Usagi blushed. She had never had any sort of problem with Haruka and Michiru's relationship, but occasionally the constant reference to it made her uncomfortable, especially when she was yearning.
"Haruka-san, where is Michiru-san?"
"She's taken Hotaru shopping". Haruka looked at Usagi out of the corners of her eyes. "Hotaru starts secondary school in September". Usagi looked down at the floor. That would mean that in the 30th century, Chibiusa would also be starting at a new school. She sighed deeply.
"So, Usagi-chan" said Haruka, tearing her eyes from the window, and turning instead to Usagi. "Something is bothering you. Do you want to talk?"
Yes. She did want to talk. About many things. About how visiting Mamoru last summer left her feeling empty and aching inside, sometimes spending days in a slump, yearning for his tender touch and soft lips. About how the past one and a half years at university had left her scared and afraid about growing up and leaving home. About her friends, her wonderful friends, who she rarely now saw. Ami-chan had left for England to study at a top medical school. Rei-chan had insisted that her grandfather retire, and was now chief priestess at the Hikawa Shrine. Mako-chan was attending a college that specialised in cookery, and Minako-chan had pursued her dream of becoming an idol and was currently touring in West Japan. And also, she wanted to talk about her longings for someone she could confide in, like an older sister. Someone who she could pass these worries onto, and be comforted in return. All this she told Haruka, and Haruka held her close and listened.
