Sailor Universe: Chapter 8

**BEEP BEEP**

“What's up Lita?”

“Marlena, get everyone down to the park. The Kullden is attacking!!”

“Right away! Guys, we've got some fighting to do!! Oh, my god, I cannot believe I am about to be in my first Sailor Scout battle! What if I mess up and get killed? What if I get one of you killed? I'm not sure which one would be worse!”

“Calm down girl, and transform. We gotta get going!”

“Oh, right Serena. UNIVERSE PRISM POWER MAKEUP!!”

(Yeah, Yeah, you know the drill, everyone transforms.)

**AT THE PARK**

“Sailor Jupiter, we're here to help!!”

“Two of them ran off towards the lake. Only three need to go after them. They are the weak ones. These five on the other hand, are pretty tough despite their ugliness.”

“Nice one Jupiter! Mercury, Universe, and Mars, go after the scaredy cats. All right, everyone pretend I did my little hero speech and let's kick some butts!!”

“Ok, Cupid's Arrow Strike!!”

“Nice one, Venus!”

**BY THE LAKE**

“If these are the weak ones, I don't want to know what the strong ones are like. Auggh! You nasty beast!! Galaxy Stardust Beam!!”

A dazzling array of stars zoomed towards the `nasty beast', but could not destroy the monster. Suddenly, a voice sounded above the noise of the battles, “Galaxy Star Spiral!”

A twisting beam of stars hit the monster exactly where Sailor Universe's attack had hit.

“Hello there. Just thought you might like some help, Sailor Scouts. I'm the Sunlight Knight!”

“Oh, great, another creep in a tux. Hey, don't you know this ain't no stinking prom?? It's bad enough having one overly dressed idiot around!”

“Hey, maybe I want to get a jump start on prom. And who are you to be talking? Isn't it a little early for ugly Halloween costumes?”

“UGLY!? HOW DARE YOU INSULT ME!! I happen to the winner of the Nasu beauty contest for three years running!”

“Whoa! If you're beautiful, I'm too scared to see what the ugly ones are like!”

“You creep! Take that!!”

Dark energy in the form of a spear flew at him. Sailor Universe saw it happening and screamed, diving to push Sunlight Knight out of the way.

“NO!! I will not lose you again!”

“Uh, why did she use the same attack as Beryl??”

“Because I know all about your pathetic past lives! Queen Karimenta has told us all!”

“But how does she know about them?”

“Ah, because she is Beryl's twin sister! She has come here to take her revenge on the Sailor Scouts, particularly the Moon Princess, for killing her sister!!”

“WHAT??!”

“Well then, tell her that if she wants revenge on me, she'll have to come kill me herself. No puny minions could defeat us!! In the name of the Moon, I shall punish you!”

<You know it Mars!>

“Moon Imperial Beam!”

The bright beam of moons and stars burned into the creature's body.

“Hey, maybe we should start collecting the dust from defeated Enemies. We could label bottles of it with the minions' names and dates they were defeated. It would help keep the tales about us accurate in the future.”

“Uh, how about, no! Chill out Mercury, the tales are supposed to be inaccurate. That is what is so cool about legends and myths. You never really know what is the truth and what's not.”

“Whoa! Where did that come from?? Are you going genius on us?!”

“Haha, you know that would never happen. I'm just into those kind of stories, oh and comics too.”

“Should have known that one was coming! Venus, why'd ya think she'd go genius?”

“Hey! She does rule the entire Earth in the future.”

“If we live that long.”

“Hey, no pessimism. We are all optimistic here! Anyway, those were some attacks Sailor Universe and Sunlight Knight! Glad you're on our side!”

“No worries there! Let's get back to the Temple, so that we can detransform. Using Scout names still confuses me.”

“Alright, let's go. We need to talk about what the monster said anyway.”

**AT THE TEMPLE**

“I think that the Sun Queen knew that Beryl had a twin sister. However, I do not understand why the Moon Queen did not know. Luna, Artemis, have you ever heard of Queen Karimenta?”

“No, Raye, we haven't. I did not even know there was life on Nasu. Queen Serenity said it was barren when some people wanted to set up a colony on it.”

“Then she must have known about it! She didn't want the colony because of the evil kingdom. Besides, someone besides Queen Serlena had to know about it because that's where Beryl came from. She wasn't a true Earth person!”

“You must be right, Serena. I just wonder why she never warned us about it. She had to know that Karimenta would attack one day. She knew we killed Beryl when she told you how to use the Crystal to transform.”

“Maybe she was worried we'd go off and attack Nasu and end up dying without Marlena and Colin with us.”

“She could have told us about them.”

“That might have interfered with our futures too much. She couldn't risk that.”

Ami's thoughts: `There Serena goes acting intelligent again. Something is going on. Now, what year does she become queen??'

<I have been wondering the same thing Ami. Maybe the change in our futures causes her to be crowned sooner.>

<Raye! You are not supposed to listen to our personal thoughts!>

<Well, you were thinking loudly. Anyway, Setsuna, make an excuse and go contact the future. See if the coronation date has changed.>

<Ok, Raye, but I hope you know what you are doing. We already know much more of our futures than we should.>

<We must know. It could affect how we fight the Kullden. If she is crowned soon, then the prediction of our deaths will also occur sooner than expected.>

<You are right.>

“Um, I need to check the Fourth Dimension. I want to make sure no one has gained access to it. I will be back soon.”

“Ok, Setsuna. But, please, be quick. We never know when the next attack will be.”

“Of course, Princess.”

In a puff of purple smoke, Setsuna disappeared.

“Why is everyone calling me princess?? I want to know now! If you know something that you are not telling me, you had better tell me now.”

“What do you mean, Serena?”

“Several days ago Raye call me Princess. Then Setsuna did the same a few days later, and then again today. What is going on?”

“I called you princess?? I didn't even realize I had.”

“Raye are you playing dumb with me?”

“No…”

“Serena! We have a problem!!”

“Setsuna? What are you talking about?”

“Well, while I was in the Fourth Dimension I decided to contact the future Marlena. It seems that the near future has been changed more than we thought. You did not take the throne at the age of 22 like we have all thought you would. You were crowned, instead, exactly one year from now.”

“That means we only have three years to beat the Kullden, or we shall die!”
