Sailor Universe: Chapter 9

“Hey, Serena, maybe that's why Setsuna and Raye called you princess without knowing it. It just might be our memories of the past kicking in because you will soon be queen!”

“Yes, Mina I believe you are right.”

“Well, at least now I know why you have started to act smarter. We all know that you are going to be positively brilliant as Neo-Queen Serenity.”

“Jeez, thanks Ami. I guess that means I'm just some dumb bum right now.”

“I didn't mean it that way…”

“I know, Ami. I'm just poking fun at you. Ok, we need to get some more information on the Kullden. Especially now that we know Karimenta is Beryl's twin. Hmm, maybe it was not the ancient Moon Kingdom that Sailor Universe is meant to save. Maybe Beryl had it all wrong. It could be that Marlena and Colin were meant to help save our new kingdom when I take the throne.”

“What?! Serena, how did you think all that up? Even with your recent burst of intellectuality, that is extremely genius-like, and not something you would normally think of.”

“Well, I know. However, as a future queen, I will need to think like this. Being able to decode prophecies, and thinking like an army general are valuable qualities in a queen. I can at least say that Beryl was a good queen of the Negaverse militarily wise. The same goes for Karimenta.”

“You are right, Princess Serenity. Those are the qualities that existed within your mother, and now they reside in you. We will defeat this new Enemy. You will live to have Rini and raise her. I know this now more than ever."

“Michiru? Where did that come from??”

“We Outer Scouts dealt extensively with your mother. Though we were not directly given the charge of protecting you, we did indeed protect you and the Inner Scouts. Many Enemies existed during the time of your mother's rule. We fought them many times and kept them from disturbing the peace of the Moon Kingdom. At that time, Karimenta was not a serious threat. Her evil kingdom was new, and had very little power. Beryl was the true queen of the Kullden, but she fled to Earth in fear of assassins in her court. With her, she took all the power that existed on Nasu. We failed to see that she would attack, and so we all died in battle. When you defeated Beryl, she died, and her power returned to Nasu, and the new queen, Karimenta. That is why she is now a threat."

“Michiru, why did you not tell me this before? I have asked everyone repeatedly if they knew anything of the Kullden!! I cannot allow secrets to be kept from me. That gives the Enemy an advantage over us!!”

“Princess, Michiru did not tell you because none of us remembered. Except for the battle with Beryl, our memories of our past lives were not clear. While the Inner Scouts can remember all, we remembered none, until yesterday.”

“Why did you not tell me then?? You still kept a secret from me!”

“We were going to tell you, but..”

“No buts! You are here by banished for a period of one week, all of the Outer Scouts. Setsuna, as you were alive then, you had no trouble of remembering the past like they did. You are banished for three days more than they are. All of you should consider yourselves lucky is not longer.”

“Serena! You cannot banish them! We need them to fight!!”

“We can hold off the minions without them. Get out of Tokyo, and do not return until your banishment is up, or I have Raye tell you to return. Setsuna, you stay in the Fourth Dimension. In addition, do not use time travel to make the time `fly' by. You all need to think about how keeping secrets could harm everyone. Do each of you understand?”

“Yes, Princess, we do.”

Again, Setsuna vanished into thin air. The other three Outer Scouts walked out of the Temple and did not return until they were called for.

**SIX DAYS LATER**

“Look, I know none of you like what I did. However, it was necessary. The Outer Scouts have gone against my wishes more than all of the Inner Scouts combined. They must be taught to obey me, and not keep secrets now. Otherwise, when I am crowned, our kingdom shall fall. However, I am not devoid of leniency. Raye, use thought speech to contact Michiru, Haruka, and Hotaru. Tell them they may return today. I will go into the Fourth Dimension and return with Setsuna tomorrow. I need time to talk to her alone.”

“Of course, Princess.”

**IN THE FOURTH DEMENSION**

“Setsuna, where are you?”

“I am right here Princess.”

“I'm sorry for having to banish you. I could not let the other Scouts know that you had already told me. We will return tomorrow. However, I wish to visit my mother first. I need her guidance.”

“Of course, Princess Serenity. You know the way. Oh, and Serena, I understand. I know that you had to banish them to prevent the future kingdom from being destroyed from within. I also know why you had to banish me as well. You must go now, or you will not return in time to arrive at the Temple tomorrow.”

“See ya in a bit, Setsuna.”

Serena disappeared behind the silver and white door. The crescent moon at the top began to twirl.
