Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Senshi Academy ❯ An Unexpected Birthday Suprise ( Prologue )

This story was inspired by a mix of things. I can't explain how my mind works, so I wont even try ^^

Princess Serenity stood on her balcony alone. She had just finished eating breakfast and as always she spent a few moments gazing upon the beautiful roses that were in full bloom all around the castle.

 

I better get in, it's going to be a long day; She sighed and headed into her bedroom to get changed. Just as she was about to grab her dress there was a knock at her door.

 

“Enter;” Serenity said as her turned towards the door, wondering who it was. A few moments later her guardian Luna entered the room. “Oh it's you Luna.”

 

“Yes, I see you're not dressed yet. You must learn to stop daydreaming and hurry up a bit!” Luna headed over to the princess wardrobe and pulled out a dress and laid it on the bed. She quickly helped the princess get changed and started to help her put her hair up in the royal style.

 

“You know I can do it myself Luna.” Serenity was getting a little irritated. She didn't need peoples help to get dressed and put her hair up the way she has had it since she was walking.

 

“Yes, I know. But you're already late to meet with your mother and this is a very important day.” Luna said as she finished up with Serenity's hair. “There, beautiful; as always.” Luna smiled and patted the princess on the shoulders. Serenity didn't say anything in response; just smiled and quickly headed downstairs to the throne room.

 

 

Within a few minutes Serenity reached the throne room. She gracefully walked inside and stood before her mother.

 

“Good Morning my Dear child.” Queen Serenity said upon Serenity reaching the throne.

 

“Good Morning mother;” The princess curtsied and walked up and took her spot next to the Queen.

 

“You know why you are here, correct?” The queen questioned, raising an eyebrow.

 

“Yes I do. It is my birthday and the people of the Moon Kingdom wish to pay respects to their beloved princess…” She replied in her most sarcastic voice. “You say the same thing every year mother, I think I get it by now.”

 

“Good;” she chuckled, “Artemis, you may let the people in one by one to pay their respects.” Artemis did as the Queen said and let the people of the Moon Kingdome into the throne room one by one. This took all morning and most of the afternoon. By the end of it, the princess was tired and just wanted to go lay down, but the day was not over yet. Luna quickly rushed the princess to her bedroom and got her ready for the evening ahead.

 

The ballroom was filled with people from all over the universe; even a few members of royalty from other planets. Serenity knew most of them; it was her duty as princess. She mostly just wandered about socializing with people here and there; altogether a very tiring process. The ball lasted a few hours and soon it was dinner time. Everyone filed into the Dinning Hall and the princess took her seat next to her mother at the head of the table.

 

Dinner went well; Serenity was pleased that she didn't spill or drop anything like she usually did. Princess lessons have sure paid off this past year… she thought to herself.

 

Just as she though she was going to make it out of dinner alive, her mother stood up. Everyone at the table stopped immediately and looked at the queen.

 

“Everyone, I would just like to announce now something very important.” She had everyone's attention, including her daughters. “I know that this Kingdome will not be at peace forever and there will be a time in the future that my daughter will have to defend this beloved Kingdome.” The princess was getting nervous. “So, I have decided that my daughter, Princess Serenity will be attending Senshi Academy come this fall.”

 

All around the table people started to whisper. The princess was in total shock and dropped the wine glass she was holding. As the sound of glass shattering everyone at the table grew silent and looked at the princess. The queen had a feeling this would happen and excused the princess and herself from the table.

 

She grabbed her daughters hand and pulled her into the closest room, which happened to be the study.

 

“I'm sorry, I know what you're thinking; but this will be good for you. Not only will you get to meet more people you age and in the same situation as you, you will also be able to finally learn how to use you true power. Believe me; my mother did the same thing when I turned fourteen. But back then it was much harder to leave home because the universe was not at peace.” The queen squeezed her daughter's hand, hopping that she would understand. The princess just looked dazed and confused.

 

“Mother…” The princess closed her eyes and collapsed into her mothers arms. Immediately Luna and Artemis ran into the room.

 

“Take her to her room and let her sleep. She is just over whelmed by the news. I will tell everyone in the dinning hall the situation.” Artemis and Luna nodded and carried the princess to her room.
