Chapter 4: The Evasion Continues
It had been days since Darien's tragic encounter with the evil driveway mud. In fact, a week had passed, and Darien still hadn't seen Serena anywhere. He was beginning to get annoyed.
*I mean, how does she manage it? I see her leaving, and when I go after her, she disappears! Into thin air it seems!*
In fact, Serena had been disappearing into thin air....sort of. Every time she'd feel Darien, she'd leave, sprint into an alleyway, and use the Lunar Pen to make herself invisible. Then she'd follow Darien home, and change back to being visible.
However, one day, when she had stealthily been following home, she'd accidentally tripped on a pop can (AN: See?? Being invisible does have a disadvantage!), and sent it flying at Darien's head. To make things worse, she fell, and got the wind knocked out of her.
"Oof!" she grunted as she fell.
Hearing the noise, Darien stopped and whirled around, just as a whizzing pop can came sailing at his head, missing him by mere centimetres.
"Who's there?" he called out cautiously. "Who are you!? Show yourself!"
Petrified, Serena sat huddled on the ground, holding her breath. Like a true blonde (AN: Now, before you start bombarding me with old shoes, I just need to say that I couldn't think of anything else!! Besides! No offence is meant to anyone blonde....considering the fact that I am blonde too...), Serena had completely forgotten that Darien couldn't see her.
When he turned away, she noisily let out her breath. Again, Darien turned around, shook his head, and walked away, muttering something about food poisoning and going crazy.
Shaking, Serena got to her feet, turned, and ran to her house (AN: She took a short cut. Not the same way Darien went).
Once she was safely inside, she ran upstairs to her room, and grabbed some clothes to change into. Going to her bathroom, she started changing. Then, she glanced at her mirror to see if her hair was still secured properly and ----
"AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I FORGOT!!!!!!"
Muttering could be heard, and then Serena's shorts, sweatshirt and socks walked back to her room, grabbed an object from Serena's pants pocket, raised the object, shouted "Disguise Power! Detransform!", and revealed a very irritated Serena, who went downstairs to start dinner. (AN: Yes, she can cook! =P)

Meanwhile.....
Darien was walking home slowly, straining his ears for sounds behind him, and mentally cursing all the cars for being so noisy. He kept stopping, and looking back, but there was nobody behind him. People across the street were beginning to give him looks, and a woman walking in his direction paled noticeably when he turned around and shouted,
"I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!!!"
The woman blinked, grabbed her daughter by the hand, and bolted to the other side of the street, ranting about escaped convicts from mental institutions.
*I know someone was there! And I could almost feel Serena...but why?*
Confused, he decided to stop by the arcade and discuss the plan with Andrew. With renewed enthusiasm, he quickly entered the and sat down on a stool, waiting for Andrew while he showed a little girl how to push the quarters into the Sailor V game.
Finally, Andrew turned around and spotted Darien. Smiling, he came over to him.
"Hey bud! How's it going? Seen the elusive Meatball Head yet?"
"No. It's almost impossible! She keeps disappearing! Literally! At this rate, by the time I'll get to try my plan, she'll be so old that she won't remember who I am!"
With a groan, he lay his head on the counter, while Andrew shook his head sympathetically.
Suddenly, someone tapped Darien on the shoulder.
"I hear somebody's got a problem with Serena," said an angry voice.
Gasping, Darien's head flew up and around, to stare straight into the eyes of none other than Rae. Gulping, he prepared himself for the priestess' temper to explode.
Instead, she grinned and said, "Maybe I can help."
