Chapter 2
The Very Next Day
Late Morning:

For the first time ever, Rei had been excused from the shrine for a few days. Though it more in light of the spirit that invaded the shrine grounds. Her grandfather called other priests for a meeting and how for insight of the appropriate prayers and rituals that should be performed. Rei went into a furry of being treated like a 15 year old, and almost threw Yuichiro across the city by the collar when he tried calming her down, but her grandfather had the best of intentions and was concerned for her well being.
The bus scene accident was still played on the news, and even a few other stations.

Ami was back at her apartment, and finished taking a bath. She walked around her bedroom in her short blue bathrobe. A clean smell of ocean bay flowed out her bath as she was drying her hair. She already had her clothes picked out for the day. Neatly laid out was her white blouse, her stylish blue jeans, and her few undergarments.
(It's a nice day to try my new tennis shoes) She thought to herself. A short time later, she was dressed, and laced up, and locked the door to her place. She took the elevator six floors down, out of the building to her cute little blue Toyota Yaris Liftback and drove off.
Haruka and Minako were at one of those nice cafe sipping on a ice mint-chocolate cappuccinos.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“...”

“...”

“...”

“You're not doing anything today either huh?” Haruka asked.

“No, that's not true, I'm... here with you.”

“Oh? You wanna get together and see a lousy movie?”

“Oh yeah, well what about your Michiru, isn't she supposed to be at your side about now?”

“She's assisting an art class since it was underhanded today.”

“That's your best excuse?”

“So you're mind reader all of a sudden?”

“You can't question an answer with another question.” Haruka repeated her fractured comment in her head a few times before it made any sense.

“Uh-huh....”

“By the way, I never asked you about what you saw. Sooo, how bad was it?”

“....Pretty bad. It was terrible.” Both of them turned their heads, hearing a car pull up, seeing Ami's car.

“Hi guys, I'm here.”

“Hey Ami, how's our little book worm?” Haruka teased.

“I'm fine, and I'll have you know that after last night I watched a movie instead.”

“Ooooh, stepping in the danger zone aren't ya?

“Stop it, I'm not like anymore... I'm I?”

“No shes just teasing you, as usual.” Minako added.

“So what'd I miss.” Ami asked.

“Nothing really. When we got here we decided to invite you, and see what happened from there. Something fun for the three of us.”

“How about we go see a movie?”

“NO! I mean no, their isn't anything good playing”

“Wasn't their a re-showing of “Titanic?” Haruka said.

“That's not funny.” Minako gave Haruka a mean cat-scowl look.

“Well, we could just stroll around the mall, ya know just to look around.” Ami added.

“eh, I feel like I'm in the 7th grade doing that. I'd rather buy, and my cards are almost on the limit.”
[Chirrp-chirrp] Haruka dived for her phone and saw a heaven-sent-name.

“Michiru?”

(What a surprise, it's Michiru on her phone) Minako thought, Haruka excused herself and talked away from prying ears.
“Well since Haruka is gonna leave us in a few seconds, how bout we go to the “Swallowtail”?

“Isn't that a reservation only type of place?”

“Oh come-on Ami, I sure they could fit in two lovely ladies.”

“Gotta go!” They heard Haruka just as she closed her car door, and was just as quickly gone.

“How bout the Ocean Dome?” Ami asked.

“Nah, to far, and it would take to long to go home and get a two-piece.”

“Wanna go see a movie?”

“...sure.” Minako left a modest tip on the table and left. They both got in Ami's little car, and attached their seatbelts. Minako then had something grab her by the hair, and yanked backwards, just as Ami had something hard and cold shoved in the side of her head. Ami barely saw in the rear-view-mirror and a person in a black ski-mask get up.

“Start driving.” He ordered. She pulled the car out with slight jerked moves, and off they went. Ami's heart went from calm to near heart-attack when she realized she had a gun to her head.
“Just keep driving straight ahead.” The man tightened his grip on Minako's long perfect blond hair.
They just passed the first intersection when he spoke again.
“Turn the radio on would ya?” Ami didn't hear him, and already had a million thoughts in her head screaming out loud.
“Hey genius! You hearing me okay up front?! Turn on the radio! “She heard him that time and hit the tuner and turned on a sports channel.
“Eh, try and find some music.” She forgot about her automatic tuners and fumbled with the stations. The guy still had a grip on Minako's hair as he concentrated on what Ami was doing. Ami found a rap station {M-Flo song} and looked at the guy.
“Don't look at me, eyes on the road!! and change the station.” She fumbled with the tuner again, and found outdoor jazzy music.

“What do you want?” Ami asked.

“For you to find a decent radio station at the moment, keep looking. Find some thrash metal.”

“What station?”

“Don't you own this little heap? You find the station.” Minako has been trying to pry her hair out of his hands this whole time, and had been making little, if any, progress.
“Never mind, got a better idea.” The gun was removed away and his hand went into a bag around his shoulder. His black gloved hand handed Ami a CD.
“Here... play some of this., and turn the volume up.” He said with a good tone. She took the unmarked CD and put it in.
{WHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!} {The Great Southern Trendkill-Pantera}Ami freaked out, and covered her ears. The car started to swerve, then she grabbed the wheel again and continued with the screaming music playing.
“Oh yeah, this is music to drive with.” Then he realized something was going on.
“Hey-hey-hey, why are we slowing down?

“There's a stop light, I have to stop.”

“Wrong, you just keep driving.”

“I can't, I'll cause an accident, if I keep going.”

“KEEP DRIVING!!!” Ami's little heart was beating faster than ever, and he wasn't helping. She kept slowing the car down. He then pulled hard on Minako's hair

“Ahhhhh!! Stop IT!!” She screamed, as she was pulled half way over the car seat. Ami finally speed up, and drove straight through the intersection, almost colliding into five other cars. Ami was sweating buckets by now, and he could tell.

“Calm down, or your gonna get in a traffic accident.”

“Please stop this, your going to get us killed!” Ami said.”

“Only if you don't keep your eyes on the road. By the way, don't slow down again, just keep driving. If you see another stoplight do whatever comes to mind to keep going. If you have to run over a little old lady to keep going, well... worry about that later, for now, worry about me.” He still had a calm voice at the moment, and seemed to be enjoying himself. He looked around the car, just looking. Then he looked out the car seeing all the people going on their daily lives, unaware of what was going on in the small Toyota.
You know, I can see your little four-door here can do at lest 70, this whole time however you've barely passed 30. I'm sure you can go faster than this.

“I can't.” Ami started crying. [PAAP!!] The man shot his gun into the paneling of the car, and on a reflex Ami floored the gas petal. {Drag the Waters} The music changed with a skull cracking rhythm.
Already they were going 50 and he started talking.

“You know, for a V4 engine this ain't to bad. It ain't no Buick, but it's okay.” He kept looking through the window, as if looking for something, but he wasn't in a hurry. He was still relaxed, then he brushed the end of the gun against her face. Ami tensed up, but not much else. Ami was no expert driver and a gun against her head wasn't helping. She really wanted to get out, transform, and get this creep out of her car. Getting him to the police would be a nice touch too. She kept speeding and looked around.

(Their has to be a way to get him out.) Then she remembered he still had a grip on Minako's hair.
(I'd never be able to get out and transform in time to save her. What else..?)

“Make a right up here.” He said
“Don't slow down now.” Ami skidded the turn, and clipped a lamppost, and tearing most of her rear fender away.
“Nice. AHHHH!” Minako stabbed a small writing pen in his hand, he let go and all hell broke loose inside. The car swerved to the left as the man was grabbing his gun. The car swerved again [BREKK – BREKK] the man's gun went off rapidly. The sunroof was torn up, and the car speakers were shot out.
Ami slammed on the breaks in the middle of the street causing the man to lurch in between the seats. His hands seemed to be everywhere for a moment, then he adjusted himself and grabbed for Minako again. Minako was hitting him over and over again as Ami just now noticed what a large person he really was. The man grabbed Minako by the throat then pushed himself to the back seat. He grabbed Minako's seat belt and pulled hard on it, pushing the air right out of her.
“Keep DRIVING!!” Ami drove again.
“whew, wow, that'll wake up in the middle of the night.” The man pulled so hard on the seatbelt it snapped off at the hinge. Then he started pulling Minako in the back with him.

“No! Let me go!” She continued hitting him, but this time he didn't seem to feel the strikes, and pulled her all the way back. He cornered her into the rear driver side seat and shoved his boot into her. Then Minako realized how big he was, his boot went from her waist to just six inches away from her throat, and now she could see his gun in his hand. She recognized the look of it from her games, but this was real. A real gun, with real bullets, right in front of her, but she wasn't sure what that long thing was at the end of the gun was. The man however just looked at his hand, he wasn't as mad as she thought he would be by now. He just watched the blood drip from his hand onto his black denim jacket, and gray shirt.

“Huh.” He looked at Minako, and turned his hand to it's wounded side.
“See that? You did that... don't let this go to your head now. I wasn't paying attention and you got a free hit. Eh, don't worry about it. It ain't so bad, it's just a little blood.” He looked outside.
“Turn there, that quicky store, and stop the engine” Ami turned in and turned off the ignition. The man switched his gun hand and reached into his jacket pocket.
“So... how you girls feel about now?”

(Is he kidding?) Ami thought. About a minute passed with an unnatural silence. Then he pulled his other hand out with a rolled wad of cash.

“Minako, be good girl and go get us some snacks. Whatever floats your boat.” He gave a generous amount of money to her and took his foot off her. She looked at him, confused.
“Today would be nice.” She got out and walked to the store, Ami was still inside.
“So how long you two been friends? Five, six years?”

“Yeah.”

“Are you two just friends, or really friendly friends?”

“You pervert!” She spoke out then realized what she said, and was scared.

“No, I just wondering.” Ami was waiting to get hit from her response.
“Because I've seen you two together often. Well, your friend Makoto as well. You just seem in a better mood when your around them.”

“Why are you doing this?”

“Don't worry about why. Just go with it.” Ami noticed just now this guy had an accent. He definitely had a west European accent, but couldn't pinpoint the dialect. The Man turn his head all around, looking everywhere.
“Ah, here comes Blondie.” Minako got back in the front seat, with a small bag.

“I got soda's” She said as if waiting for the executioner to swing the ax. His hand came from the back and reached for a bottle.

“So, when your not saving the world, what else do you do?” Both girls got a cold chill that went from head to toe. They hoped he was just being arrogant, because what he said hit to close to home to be funny.
“Well, whatever. Keep the change. He got out of the car and began walking off. He was already around the corner, when they looked at each other.

“He's to dangerous to walk around freely.” Ami said. Minako nodded and both brought out their transformation sticks.
The Man walked only half way down an alley, then...

“What you did to those girls was inexcusable.” He turned around, as a white and blue costumed woman announced.
“Using your strength and weapons to control their emotions is wrong.” He tilted his head.

“Do you think this is still a sexist world where a man can control a woman with fear?” A white and orange costumed woman announced.

“In the name of Mercury..”

“In the name of Venus..”

“We will punish you!” Unimpressed the man reached in his jacket and pulled out his gun again. [BREEEK-BREEEEEEEEK] He fired his small machine gun at the two of them and moved his back to a wall. The Senshi jumped swiftly and evaded easily.

“Venus love me Chain!!” The chain lashed out around the mans wrist and made him drop the gun.
“What are you gonna do now?!” He then grabbed the chain with both hands and pulled hard. Venus went airborne and was flung over the man, then into a wall. It didn't take a genius to notice his strength from there.

(He's still just a person though) ”Shabon Spray!!” The thick fog covered everything and Mercury then ran to aid Venus.
“Are you okay, Venus?”

“It hurts everywhere.”

“Don't worry.” Mercury was grabbed from behind and spun around. [THUMP] She was kicked straight in the chest so hard, she almost had every rib in her body broken in someway or another. The man went over to Venus as he picked up his gun from the ground. He grasped her face firmly.

“I'll be around.” He said and walked away. The fog remained for a few minutes as the two Senshi struggled to stand and get back home.

“...”

“...”

“Turn there, that quickie store, and stop the engine” Ami turned in and turned off the ignition.
