If I owned Sailor Moon the way Naoko Takeuchi does, I'd be on some beach with a playmate on each arm and a bottle of whisky. Strangely enough, this might be what Naoko does...
I still own...

Chapter 8
The Castle Invaded
The situation was spiraling out of control. Pluto managed to de-transform Mercuary out of her Scout status, but the embedded arm was still in her. Ami had passed out seconds after Venus chased after the creature, with no victory to bring back.
Needless to say, Sailor Moon and the others fought the assailant with everyone injured in some way or another. The only bright side of things was that the injuries were light enough to walk away from.
Makoto and Ami unfortunately were the worst off. Even as Sailor Jupiter, she was badly hurt. The one single blow from the creature, was enough to knock her out and keep her out. Their was just a sliver of defense high enough that kept her from being put in casket. It was only that sliver of defense that prevented her death, but it still wasn't enough to keep her out of the hospital.
Ami was, needless to say, much worse off. Her wounds were fatal and deep, and the severed arm was still embedded in Ami. The time it took for an ambulance to get to her seemed like hours. Even as Setsuna did everything within her capacity to help, even as she heard the sirens in the distance heading towards her, it seemed to take forever just to get to her. Ami's eyes would flutter open briefly, but would close as if she would die right their. Her skin went from a healthy pink to a depressing pale white. Setsuna's hand, arms, knees were covered in Ami's blood. Setsuna was crying as she could still hear the sirens getting closer, crying because she still couldn't see them, and crying because if she left Ami's side, she might die.
Later that night...
Everyone was at the hospital in a waiting room, again. Ambulances eventually came by and, their was the task of getting Ami in the Ambulance "with" the large arm still stuck in her. Since that day, they all had thought everything was fine, but that man and the monster came back. Even more, the violent spirit might also be back.
Hours went by. Mamoru had a pretty bad headache with one hand on the side of his head.
Minako's heart was melting in a gutter as she rubbed her eyes with a sniffle.
Rei sat next to Makoto as she fought a two-way losing battle in her thoughts about the fight today.
Haruka was sitting next to Michiru with her hand in hers. Grateful that her injuries weren’t as bad as they could have been.
Michiru was also grateful. Her leg was bandaged up, and just had to stay off it for a few days
Setsuna was nervous. Her breathing was irregular and sharp. She could see the creature, its mass, its strength. She repeated the vision in her mind of the creature, as it ripped a multi-ton piece of steel and flung it with little needed strength, and its persistent running.
Of coarse, no one could forget that Makoto was just as bad in shape from the fight. She was breathing and surviving through clear plastic tubes all around her. Her body showed evidence of what could be confused with being in the middle of a two-way, car crash. From her neck line and down to much of the left side of her hip area was swollen and discolored.
More time came and went for the next few hours. Mamoru had to help, at lest a little, the mental state of Usagi's state of mind. His arm went around her shoulder, and spoke a few words.
"Come on, I think I know a few people who'd be more than happy to see you." Two teary, sad, blue eyes looked up at her prince.
"Hey, will you guys be okay here?"
"Yeah, we'll be okay. Were just gonna stay here and wait for the doctor, to tell us anything." Haruka said.
"Guys, will you call me if Ami's is going to be okay?" Usagi asked.
"Of coarse we will. As soon as we hear it, you'll be the first to know." Minako answered. A few minutes later, as Mamoru and Usagi were driving down the streets. Their wasn't much to be spoken
about. Makoto and Ami were hurt badly and it was the only thing on Usagi's mind. Well that wasn't entirely true, the assailant was also present in her thoughts, too quick, and too strong, and as he had already had a secured victory at hand – he stopped, and walked away. Even being hit with both of Haruka's and Michiru's attacks at the same time from two sides, it didn't stop him. She was at one time so close to him, that when he fired his small machinegun, it made her ears ring.
"Usako?" She turned to face him.
"I know, how you must feel right now, but giving in wouldn't help any of us. Please be strong, for Ami and Makoto. They'll pull through if you think good thoughts about them." She tried to smile, and it was kindda hard, but she tried. She looked back out the window at the passing lights of the city. Some of the buildings looked familiar... some of the building looked really familiar.
"Aren’t we going back to our place?"
"Not really. Someplace better."
"Someplace better." She quietly said to herself. Frankly she couldn’t think of anything that could make things better. She looked at him again, with a few questions floating in her mind. But this was in his hands, and she had to trust him.
After a few more minutes Momoru stopped the car. Usagi looked out the window, and her eyes lit up.
"Really?!"
"Really." The two got out of the car and Usagi, was still saddened, but this was enough to take some of the sadness away. Hand in hand the two walked together up the walkway and made it to the door.
"Go ahead, ring it." Usagi was so happy, and anxiously pressed the doorbell, then again, then again and really pressed on it again. Then the door opened.
"Usagi?"
"Hi mama!" Usagi threw herself into her mothers arms. Happy as could be given what had happened today. Mamoru barely turned his head and he saw Kenji Tsukino looking out from the doorway of the kitchen, at him.
(Aw man. I'm going to feel this tomorrow) Mamoru thought to himself. Usagi's father may have reluctantly agreed with his daughters choice, but Kenji never actually said he approved of their relationship.
(It's for her. I gotta remember that. No matter what he says to me.)
"Usagi, what brings you here so sudden?" Her mother asked.
"I don't know, but Mamoru insisted that I had to come right now." Half of that was true, but she did know why exactly he brought her home.
"Well you're both welcome to stay, and share dinner with us."
"Not only that, but I'm sure we'll have much to talk about." Kenji added, but he really meant this as a directed comment to Mamoru.
(I knew I was gonna feel this.) Mamoru thought. A few minutes later after some small talk and greetings, Ikuko and Usagi we're in the kitchen getting the last few item on the table. But... in the living room....
"So... how's school?" Kenji asked Mamoru.
"It's going well."
"Your getting high marks, I take it?"
"Yes sir. I make it a constant effort to always do well in my studies."
"Oh, good. You do know that you can't just start a life without graduating from college, right?"
"Yeah, absolutely. My science teacher, even notices the hard work I do, and even comments on the finished work I turn in."
"Really? That's something alright. You do take other classes other than just science, right?"
"Yes, of coarse."
"Like what?"
"You know, the usual subjects like advanced algebra, foreign languages studies, political science, and gardening. I also put in an auto-shop class just to fill in a phys-ed class."
"And you are keeping up good grades right?"
"Absolutely."
"Hm. Speaking of which, as of 'Auto' how's your driving status? You havn't gotten any speeding tickets have you?"
"None."
"And you don't go racing down streets with wild hot-rod friends do you?"
"No, I just keep on the road, and remind myself to be a defensive driver, always."
"Oh, that's good, that's good. Because you do know that a wreak less driver will always pay in one way or another?
"Of coarse I do. Like I said, I don't take chances."
"Oh, okay... Now what about you? What do you have intended for your future? Because I don't see how 'just' a good college degree by itself will get you very far in life."
"Ah, well, It's crossed my mind that.."
"Dinners ready." Ikuko interrupted. A victorious cheer in Mamoru's mind went off.
(Saved!!) At the dinner table Kenji, Ikuko, Shingo, Usagi and Mamoru ate quietly, unfortunately Mamoru knew as soon as everyone finished eating he would have to continue talking to Usagi's father.
He looked at Usagi, and saw her smiling more than before, so overall, it was worth it.
After dinner, Usagi excused herself and went up to her old bedroom. She saw her stuffed animals, her old little vanity desk and mirror. She sat down on the edge of her bed and had a pink, stuffed rabbit that had a blue dress on it, in her arms.
Kenji and Mamoru were talking again in the living room. Shingo was helping his mother put away the food and clean the dishes.
[Ding-dong]
"Shingo, can you finish putting the food away for me?"
"Sure mom, I got it." She wiped her hands shortly, and made her way to the front door. She saw her husband lecturing Mamoru about life, and how he should conduct himself while he was with Usagi. At the front door her opened it.
"Yes?" [POOM!!] Ikuko was thrown off her feet with an extreme force and landed on her back. Kenji crawled on his hands and knees to a wall as Mamoru jumped behind a chair. Shingo was crouched into a little ball in the corner of the kitchen. In walked in the assailant, dressed like before earlier that day, dark and heavy, and a brown and black sawed-off shotgun in hand. He walked in like he own the place. Only a few steps in the house and he turned into the living room and remained at the entry-way, and saw Kenji and Mamoru cork bottled in with no way out. [POOM!!] It was like shooting fish in a small barrel. [POOM!!] Kenji didn't have much of a fighting chance. Hell, it was a one-sided fight, and the assailant knew it. Now three were down, as he reached in his inside pocket and loaded three shells in the shotgun. He looked down the next hall, and then heard footsteps behind him, then turned to see Shingo running from the kitchen. [POOM!!] He missed by a few inches and started running after him.
"DAD, HELP ME!" Shingo screamed as he ran into the living room. Unfortunately their was only two laying bodies on the ground moaning and screaming loudly for him to see. He ran to his father on the ground and shook at his arm trying to get him to wake up. [POOM!!] Then Shingo was thrown off his fathers side end over end. He turned his attention at the stairway and made his way up casually. What little was left of the barrel made an aggravating [clack_clack_clack_clack_clack] on each step. At the top of the stairs, he looked to the right then the left, and saw Usagi hiding behind the biggest stuffed animal that was, at best, only half her size. He didn't even take one step and a rose was suddenly thrown and embedded in his right hand. The assailant looked at his hand, then looked down the stairs and saw Mamoru slumped against a wall trying to ready another rose, against all the pain he felt. The assailant aimed. [POOM!!] Then he was knocked down again. The assailant reached into his coat for more shells and released the rose again. He grabbed it entirely by the full bloom and pulled it straight out, drawing only a few streams, and drops of his blood. He reached again for a few more shells and loaded the shotgun to it's full capacity of five rounds. Usagi was sobbing nearly out of control as she could hear the screaming and moaning from downstairs. The assailant entered her bedroom and just looked at her. His head tilted on one side, as if saying. 'who are you?' He looked back out the hall and calmly closed the door.
Then Usagi couldn't hear anything. Not the crying, not the moaning, and no screaming.
Now just the sound of his thick, black boots walking on the pink carpet of her bedroom. He looked at her again and took a few more steps towards her and grabbed the stuffed animal away from her and dropped it behind him. He then grabbed her by the arm and threw her on her bed. He walked to the pink and white chair at her desk and picked it up and placed it in front of her bed. He sat down and propped the shotgun against a white, wooden-dresser. Now his attention was devoted at her. All she could see was just those two eyes of his through the black ski-mask. She breathed heavily as she visualized her family dying, she looked passed over his shoulder at the door.
[Snaps fingers]
"Eyes over here." He spoke calmly, and she looked at him.
"Just to clear thing's up, we've met before." She looked at him with tears running down her eyes.
"Leave me alone."
"No. Even if I wanted to myself. I'd always be around, one way or another. It might be also worth mentioning, that I've been around you and your friends for quite a while."
(What?)
"There's quite a bit I know about you and your friends, but... theirs only so much I know of you without being able to talk to you like this. It's more personal. Nothing to distract us, no fighting, just you and me. Which brings me to one of the few reasons I'm here. Things like when, and where you were born, your school grades, even how many time you applied for a drivers license are easy enough to know. Any competent fool with a computer can figure those out. Things like what you spend nearly your entire paycheck on, dresses, shoes, moves, and even your nails, are just a matter of trial and effort."
"You've been stalking me?"
"No, not at all. If I were stalking you I'd be hiding in dark alley ways, behind bushes, like some immoral degenerate pervert. You're basically a giant neon sign. You're very easy to find in the middle of the day. I might as well add the fact your friends are too.
"Leave my friends alone."
"No, I won't."
"What's wrong with you?"
He shook his head briefly.
"Nothing. Theirs nothing wrong with me.
(If only their was a way to help my family. Shingo? What did he do to him!?)
"Uasgi? Are you paying attention?" She looked up at him again.
"What did you do to my family!?"
"Don't worry about them, they're fine." He said plainly
"I did that just to get your attention. But like I said, don't worry about them."
But I should get to the point of why I came here. The simple thing is your ability to transform to Sailor Moon. Up till five years ago I could've cared less about you, but that changed. Now what I'd like is A: How did you become Sailor Moon, and B: Why you? And by all means, please take your time answering, given what has happened." Usagi couldn't believe what she was hearing from him. His
disregard for the value of life, gave her the crystal clear picture that no matter what he had in mind, it was going to be carried out.
(My Mother, Father, Shingo, what did they do to deserve this? This isn't fair! Mamoru, what did he do to him?) She franticly tried to think of a way to help her family, but she still had to get by the assailant before she could help anyone. Even then, she would have still had to transform into Sailor Moon without him reacting. Her eyes looked at the door with each of her family member in her thoughts.
[Snaps fingers]
"Remember, pay attention." She focused her attention on him again, and the gun to his left. Here and now, she couldn't help and the more she tried to think of a way to help, the more distant the idea became.
(If only I could call my friends, they would help me.) She couldn't help but look at the assailant and the near-by gun to his side. He seemed to notice what she was looking at.
"It's the gun isn't it?" He grabbed the shotgun by the barrel and moved it behind the dresser, but stopped and changed his mind, and look at Usagi again. He brought the gun out again and set it on his lap.
"I bet you've never handled a real gun before have you?" Now she was really worried.
(What's he talking about?)
"You want to?" After a short moment he held the shotgun near the barrel end and pointed the shoulder stock at Usagi.
"Go ahead, take it." Usagi didn't move, then inched away a little.
"No I meant what I said. Go ahead." After she gave a helpless, lost look for a few seconds the assailant got up and moved over her.
"No get AWAY FROM ME!!"
"Shut up and take it." He grabbed her right hand and manipulated it to hold the grip of the gun, then grabbed her left hand and did the same to hold the far end of it. Both his hands clasped over hers to keep her hands in place. Then he let go and backed off a few steps. The gun in her hands limped down and tumbled out of her hands and on the floor with a muffled clatter. She looked down at the gun then looked up at the assailant and backed away into the furthest corner of her bed against the wall. The assailant looked at the gun then at Usagi.
"It was too heavy for you?" A few seconds later her reached into the right side of his waistband and drew out another gun. A pistol.
"How bout this one?" Again he reached over her bed and grabbed her arm at the wrist and pulled her over and placed the pistol in her hand. He manipulated her tapered fingers to wrap around the grip of the gun, and clamped it down. When he let go of her hand the gun dragged her hand down just as it dangled on her finger and fell on the bed.
"Oh come on, it's not even two pounds and you can't hold it? What kind of person are you?" She sank as far as she possibly could into her bed and wall corner, as if just another inch away form him would make things better.
"You telling me you can pack away five pounds of junk food all day, but you can't hold a gun for five seconds?" She didn't answer, as he sat back down again.
"Well I hope you've been thinking about what I asked you."
"What?"
"You know, the question about how and, or why you're Sailor Moon."
"I forgot."
"You forgot, what do you mean you forgot? How do you just forget becoming whatever it is, the hell you are?" His voice, for the first time, raised at her.
"No, I mean, uhh I forgot you asked."
"...Oh" He calmly responded.
"Okay then." He looked down at her feet near the pistol and reached for it and put it back in his waistband.
"Alright, how about something else? I've been wanting to get to this ever since I walked in your room here. What I'd like to know is, specifically, and the thing about this question is that it does involve all of your 'friends' whether you like it or not. Your, well for lack of a better word, 'items' that allow you to transform. I'd like to know whether or not more can be made, or can they be duplicated?" An instant red flag went up in her mind. She suddenly understood this was way bigger than she thought.
"Why?"
"It doesn’t matter. Yes or no?"
"I wont tell." The assailant got back up and grabbed her by the face and covered her mouth, and pinned her back to the bed, with one hand.
"Tsukino, can you hear me? I'm usually very patient, but at times when my clear message isn't received, I begin to think I'm being disrespected. Now pretty please, with a cherry on top, answer my question." He let go of her face and sat down again.
"I don't know."
"Tsukino.."
"NO, I mean, I really don't know. I just got it one day, and that was it."
"It was just given to you?"
"Yeah."
"By who?"
"You won't believe me."
"Try me." Usagi couldn’t think fast enough to tell him anything that would satisfy him, but what else was there?
"Please, it was a long time ago. I really don't know where she is."
"She? What did 'she' look like?"
"I don't know."
"Oh come on, try. You can try, right?" Their was only so many ways to explain how her pet cat, and friend jumped and flipped in the air to create the item he was talking about. He looked over his shoulder at the door, then back at her.
"Come on, what did she look like?" His voice raised slightly.
"What about her name, what was her name?"
"No."
"Damn it Tsukino, smarten up. Is their anything about this chick you do know?" His voice raised again as he sat up suddenly.
"No." He paced a few steps back and forth the length of her bed. He looked the door of the bedroom and back at her again.
"We're going to have to pick this conversation up later." He said calmly.
(What?) He bent down and pickup the shotgun on the floor and opened the window. He looked at her again as he had one leg hanging out the window. Then the rest of him went out the window with the sound of a heavy thump as he landed outside. A bead of sweat went from her forehead down her neck.
(What if he comes back? If I'm not still here he might hurt me or.)
"MOM!" She jumped off her bed and bolted for the door. As soon as she opened it, her ears were assaulted with the sound of several police and detectives littered throughout her house, paramedics were at the side of each of the fallen. Her mother was sitting on a chair breathing with a oxygen tank and mask, Shingo was nowhere to be seen, both her Father and Mamoru were being looked over by a paramedic. Then she saw out through a window, a woman was talking to Shingo while sitting in a police car.
"What happened?" She said to herself.
