Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ The Price of Love ❯ Chapter 5 ( Chapter 5 )
Ren glanced nervously around as he watched the overcast skies. 'Please Please Please don't let it rain' he prayed. A roll of thunder suddenly ranged out against the dark sky. 'Damn!!!'
"Let's fine a shelter" Haruka ordered.
"Where?" he tried not to sound as doubtful as he felt, but the chances of them finding any place to stay was slim.
"There" Haruka smirked as she pointed to the cave that was almost right in front of them. Ren jaw dropped.
"Come on, Blondie" she teases as pushed him forward.
"But you're blond too" He growled as she laughed. The sound was like tinkling bells over the thunder. Ren blinked in shock. Since when had he become so poetic? He tried to ignore the rush of warm feeling that came over him, when Haruka arm grabbed his. His heart started to beat faster. He could feel his face growing red. Nobody had ever touched him before, except Jadeite and that was different.
"Hurry up, you don't want to get wet do you?" That thought alone was enough to get him rolling on his feet. They had made it just in time, when rain became a downpour. Ren wiped the sweat from his face, relief. His secret was still safe.
"We're out of food" Haruka stood up after she checked the pack. "I saw some berries over near the cave, I'll get some."
"B-but, It's raining!"
"I'll be a little wet" Haruka grinned. "It's better than starving" She quickly walked out.
"Wait!!!" Rena tried to ignore the bad feeling he got. He waited impatiently for what seemed like eternity, but she never came back. Fighting the urged to cringe. He carefully stepped out. He sighed in relief. The water was cold, so he was still able to remain in his male form.
"Haruka!!!!" he hollered. "Haruka!!!!" he walked over to the berries patched that they had founded earlier. He tried not to panic when he couldn't find her. "Harukaaaahhhhhh" He fell to ground and frowned. Did the ground just moan? He looked over his shoulder and gasped at the object that he had tripped over. Silently, he picked up the unconscious scout and headed back towards the cave as fast as he could.

Nephrite smiled as another roll of thunder ranged out. He loved thunderstorms almost as much as he loved the stars. He loved the way the rain pattered when it hits any object. It made such a wonderful sound. Beside him, Setsuna sneezed loudly.
"Bless you"
"Thanks" she sniffed so miserably that he couldn't help but grinned. They were holed up in a large trunk of an earth tree. Roughly about 17 feet in circumference or more. He never knew the inside of an earth tree would be this wide that it could fit two or three person.
"Achooo!!!!!"
"Bless you"
"Thanks"
"Achoooo!!!"
"Bless you"
"Thanks"
"Achoooo!!!"
"Bless you"
"Thanks"
"Achoo!!!!"
"Bless you"
"Thanks"
This went on for several minutes before he couldn't stand it any more. The laughter in his throat came out.
"What's so funny?" Setsuna frowned. "Achoo!!!!!"
"Oh, nothing" Nephrite grinned as he looked at her amused.

Jadeite tried to warm the girl that was in his arms.
"It's so c-cold" Hotaru teeth chattered.
"I know" he assured. He tightened his grip on her. Maybe it would help, if he did something to take her mind off the chilly wind that was blowing.
"Hotaru?"
"W-w-what?"
"Have you ever played truth or dare?" Jadeite grimaced. He hated that game, but it was the only thing he could think of.
"I like that g-game" Hotaru snuggled deeper into his embrace.
"Ok, then lets play. I'll go first. Truth or dare"
"Truth" Hotaru answered back promptly.
"Chicken" he teased.
"I'm not!!! Truth!!!" she growled a bit. Jadeite chuckled. She was awfully cute when she was rally up.
"Alright…. What's your favorite color?"
"Purple" Hotaru smiled. "My turn. Truth or Dare"
"Truth"
"Chicken" she teased. Jadeite merely chucked. "Ok. Truth…let me see. Who's the most important girl to you?"
"Usagi"
"Oh?" He wondered briefly about the disappointment in her eyes. "Who's that?"
"My…" he was at lost for words. " Best friend" he told her. It wasn't an exact lie but it was true. Usagi was not only his sister but she was also his best friend.
"Do you love her?" Hotaru seemed almost afraid.
"Yes, I do" He looked at her worriedly. "Is something wrong?" He watched stun as she pulled herself from his embrace. She gently brought her arms to hug around her knees.
"I'm tired. I don't want to play this game anymore." In front of them, the rain fell, not touching them because of the broad tree that they were sitting under.

Zoisite struggled along. The sole of his boots, swashed unpleasantly. Up ahead, Michiru walked on, the rain seemly having no effect on her.
"We need to find shelter" he ran up to her.
"What for? Don't you like the rain?" her tone was icy and cold, but her green eyes were strangely blank. Devoid of any emotions.
"I guess, but we could get sick." He sighed as she walked on. "Fine!!! I could get sick!!!" Still she walked on, and it frustrated him to no end. He wasn't worried about getting sick. He was worried about how far she was going to take herself and how weary she would get.
"Michiru-sama!!!" He quickly grabbed her arm and whirled her around. "We need to get out…" his voice trailed off. Those weren't raindrop that was trailing down her face. They were tears. Silently he pulled her into a hug, to comfort her. She was rigid at first, like a china doll, but slowly she sank into his embrace. Her shoulders shook.
"What's wrong?" he asked soothing as one of his hand stroked her hair. He felt her shake, her frame trembling with every sob.
"J-Just hold me" she whispered through her tears. And he did.
