Hannah sat at a table in the workshop with Misty. Misty finished the circuitry in a navy blue, watch-like communicator. She looked at Hannah, who closed the outer casing on it and pointed on finger at it. Electricity shot from her finger tip and zapped the communicator.

"That's the last one." Misty announced.

"Let's see, purple for Marie, dark red for Anna, and Navy Blue for Bianca." Hannah checked them off on her fingers. Hannah stood up and stretched her arms and legs.

"I'm gonna go see what the others are doing." She told the blue-haired Mercurian.

********

Kaze looked around the room, bored. Lilly and Kate were playing cards. Marie was sitting in an armchair, flipping half-heartedly through a magazine. Bianca was watching TV, changing the channel every five seconds. And Anna was doodling on a piece of paper.

"Hey guys." Hannah said as she walked into the room. Everybody acknowledged her vaguely.

"Don't be too enthusiastic now." Hannah said sarcastically.

Kaze looked at her, smiling slightly.

"I'm bored." Kaze whined at her. Before Hannah could reply, Luna Belle leapt onto the chair.

"There're youma attacking a mall downtown."

"Finally, something exciting to do." Bianca grinned. The others stood up.

********

Some Mall Downtown:

Emerald stepped over a bunch of shattered glass. Sapphire examined a piece of debris.

"They really did a number on this place." Garnet said, picking up a sliver of tile.

"I think we should split into pairs and look for the youma, if you find the youma, just send us a signal on our communicators." Emerald said.

"Sapphire and Ruby check the roof and floors 30 through 25. Tanzanite and Garnet, check 24 to 19. Aquamarine and Crystal, 18 to 13. Amethyst and I will take 12 to the ground floor." She instructed.

The teams split up.

Sapphire & Ruby:

Sapphire dropped down through the small shattered skylight to land beside Ruby.

"Everything's clear on the roof." She reported. Ruby stared at her for a moment.

"Why do you do that?" Ruby asked her.

"Do what?" Sapphire looked at her blankly.

"Jump down through the skylight. I mean, why don't you just use the stairs?" Ruby asked her.

"Oh, that. It's more fun to use the skylight." Sapphire said matter-of-factly.

Ruby shook her head and started searching again.

Tanzanite & Garnet

Tanzanite tread carefully over glass and wreckage, looking around.

"Find anything Garnet?" she shouted.

"Nothing!" came the reply.

Tanzanite frowned and went down to the floor below.

"I wonder if the others have had any luck." Garnet mused.

Aquamarine & Crystal

"Where could those youma be?" Crystal asked Aquamarine, exasperated.

Aquamarine shrugged and peered out one of the broken windows. Crystal looked at the broken items on the ground and saw an oddly familiar piece of debris. She crouched down and gingerly picked it up with two fingers. It was a round miniscule glowing piece of material.

"Hey, Aqua. I think I found something." she said, catching her teammate's attention.

Aquamarine examined it and said "Crystal, this is what's left behind after Emerald uses one of her electrical attacks."

"I take it, this is bad?" Crystal asked.

"Yup. It means that Lady Quartz has upgraded her minions." Aquamarine stated.

Amethyst & Emerald

Amethyst and Emerald walked down the stairs, equipped with sword and glaive. Amethyst stopped, and Emerald paused too glancing sideways at her. In the blink of an eye Emerald whipped around a blocked a glaive with her sword. Green eyes locked onto Violet ones.

"What do you think you're doing here, Saturn?" She hissed. She heard the sounds of Amethyst's Cronos Glaive connecting with Uranus' Space Sword.

"What are you doing here?" Saturn echoed the question, challenging her.

Emerald forced the glaive tip to the ground and snapped back "Trying to find a bunch of youma."

Saturn backed off, but watched her closely. Emerald turned her head to see Amethyst with her glaive at Uranus' throat.

"Amethyst." Emerald called over to her.

"Yes Princess?" Amethyst looked back at her.

"Let Uranus go and give her back her space sword." Emerald told her, a hint of reluctance in her voice.

Amethyst gave her a quizzical look, but obeyed. After she was done she went to Emerald's side.

"Now get out of here before-" Emerald started but was cut off when a huge black clawed paw swept into her stomach, sending her hurtling through a wall, into one of the stores.

Almost immediately Tanzanite, Sapphire, Ruby, Crystal, and Aquamarine arrived.

"Where-?" but Amethyst stopped her and pointed to the large hole in a wall. Emerald winced in pain but materialized her sword into her hand and muttered "You're gonna pay for that, youma."

She nimbly leapt over to the youma and swiped her sword. Her eyes met with the youma and she stopped. The youma's eyes were pure black, like a dark cave. Out of nowhere Hannah felt doubt building in her mind.

`What if I can't stop Quartz? What if can't beat the youma she sends? What if one of us gets killed?' She started rambling mentally.

Aquamarine looked confusedly at her princess, who was staring into the youma's eyes. Emerald's usually bright eyes were dull and blank, and a black aura seemed to be surrounding her. Emerald lowered her sword, never taking her eyes off the youma's, and the glowing sword clattered to the ground.

The youma turned its attention to Uranus and Saturn, who were just as perplexed at Emerald's actions. Emerald didn't move an inch.

Aquamarine dodged one of the youma's paws and flipped over to Emerald, who was staring at the wall. The Neptunian Scout snapped her fingers in front of Emerald's eyes, but got no reaction.

"Ruby, come snap her out of it. You're the one closest to her." Aquamarine called over her shoulder. Ruby did a handspring over the youma and landed in front of Emerald. She grabbed her friend's shoulders and shook her lightly.

"Hannah! Snap out of it, we need you right now." Ruby told her. Emerald blinked suddenly and shook her head.

"What happened?" She asked.

"The youma, like, hypnotized you or something." Ruby replied.

"Um, when did they get here?" Emerald asked, watching the Sailor Scouts.

"I dunno. Let's go join the fight." Ruby said. Both girls simultaneously leaped over the youma. Ruby looked behind her and shouted "Hit the deck!"

Emerald and Ruby dropped to the ground, and a flaming arrow narrowly missed their heads and hit the youma. The youma burst into flames. Emerald and her team faced the Sailor Scouts.

"You almost hit Lilly." Hannah snapped, detransforming. The Jovian glared at the Sailor Scouts. She turned her fiery gaze to Raye and added "Who would be your future daughter."

"Hey, it's not her fault. She was aiming for the youma." Lita defended heatedly.

"Ha! If she had killed Lilly, I'd be aiming at her and I'd `accidentally' hit her." Hannah spat back. Her hands were glowing acid green. Kaze put a hand on her shoulder and quietly said "Calm down."

The green energy diminished and Hannah unclenched her fist.

"Let's go home, Hannah." Bianca said.

"Good idea."

The Girls teleported away in flashes of multi-colored light.
