Title: Toki no hana nozo ni anata okizari ni shita 2 (I left you in the Garden of Time - Chapter 2)
Series: Sailor Moon

Usagi blinked in astonishment as Mamoru's tirade washed over her. Chibi Usa stood in the background and made faces at her, gleeful that Mamoru was dumping Usagi. "Why should my whole life be destined because of what happened in the past?" Mamoru ranted. "You never…"
Usagi pulled herself up, the foreboding feeling in her stomach making her ill, fury at him for doing this to her raged through her like an unholy flood as she decided that she wouldn't put up with this. She had been a marshmallow for too long. Her eyes flashed fury and indignation and it was the unbridled rage in her eyes that made Mamoru fall silent. Her rage was palpable. "Don't you EVER say never to me Chiba Mamoru." She hissed in a voice she barely recognized as her own. "I don't know what form of idiocy this is to make you so cruel that you would purposely hurt me like this, but I. WON'T. STAND. FOR. IT!" she yelled.
"Usako - lower your voice." Mamoru said in an upset voice, not having expected Usagi to fight back, forgetting that she had a temper on her that rivalled Rei's on occasion. Chibi Usa's jaw hung open as she saw a different side to Usagi, the one she loved to torment and abuse.
"Go to hell Mamoru." Usagi snarled. "You don't tell me what to do anymore." She snapped. "You just destroyed the best thing in your miserable and empty life - the only ting that could have brought you joy and you know it. You are destined to be alone for eternity now Mamoru - I hope you're happy with the choice that you've made."
Mamoru blinked in shock as Usagi's words struck home, struck the empty place in his heart that only she could fill. His soul began to bleed as he struck out once more, wanting to hurt her as she had just hurt him. "You're handling this remarkably well." He commented in an almost hurt tone.
Usagi didn't reply, feeling the tears build. She was damned if she'd let him see her cry over him though. The foreboding in her stomach had her almost doubled over as waves of nausea wracked her slight frame. 'This isn't right…this shouldn't be happening…' she thought as she tossed her head and stormed away, proud of her control and reaction. She knew that he and Chibi Brat were watching from his balcony, hoping she'd break down. 'There's a strength in me that sometimes you can't see.' She thought angrily. She knew that if she didn't get home soon she'd do a classic Usagi and wail in the street, losing all the ground she had gained today. 'Never again.' She promised herself. 'I'll never waste any of my time on him again.' She sighed inwardly.
Her head was telling her one thing, but she was having trouble telling it to her heart. She did not see an exasperated Guardian of Time appear behind her and shaking a fist at her - she didn't hear Setsuna's yell that this would not help the timeline…things had started to go wrong from this point and she was retracing old steps. She saw nothing but misery in front of her.

"HE DID WHAT?"
"YOU DID WHAT?"
"YOU GO GIRL!"
Three yells from three different directions, all aimed at a smug Usagi who sat cross legged in Rei's bedroom, calmly sipping tea. "Tell me again, I don't believe it." Ami demanded, surprising them all with her exuberance.
Usagi arched an eyebrow at her normally quiet friend as she related the story again. Minako giggled incessantly and bounced in her seat, knowing Usagi's ulterior motive. "I know why you did that!" she said in a singsong voice.
"Sharing a brain again, are you?" Makoto interjected as Usagi and Minako grinned foolishly at each other.
Usagi nodded. "Mamoru wants what he can't have and I told him that he can't have me now." She confirmed. "I love him so much and I know the baka loves me but…"
"It's the game of love!" Minako squealed, unable to keep silent a minute longer. "By not crying in front of him and not showing weakness, your reaction will drive him insane!" she clapped her hands together. "I've taught you well!" she giggled.
Usagi smiled. "I just hope it works." She murmured, her foreboding feeling returning stronger than ever. She didn't tell her friends of the dream she had had last night, a dream that was more premonition - a dream where she was condemned in life, where Mamoru had wed someone else, where Rei had destroyed her moon. She was taking a terrible risk, an awful gamble with Mamoru since he was a man you couldn't really play games with - he played them with you instead.
Rei stared at Usagi through narrowed purple eyes. True, she hated Usagi and would love to see her downfall - or better yet be part of it, and she would yet. Her psychic sense was going haywire right now and it was enough for her to know that Usagi was up to something. She was hiding something from all of them and she was determined to know what it was. Usagi could never keep a secret or hide anything so getting her secret would be no problem for an expert like Rei. She would be leader yet and she would reclaim her boyfriend. Perhaps this break up between him and Usagi was for the best - she could spend time both with Mamoru and that darling child she loved so much. They could all complain about Usagi and compare notes on the idiot. "Usagi," she began in a chilly voice - a strange contrast for such a firey person. She hoped that she'd get Usagi into trouble over this. Wishing Luna were here to help her, she barrelled forward. "What aren't you telling us you Odango?"
Usagi read Rei's expression very easily, not as stupid as Rei would like to think. She saw nothing but contempt for her there, nothing but derision in Rei's soul. Knowing Rei's ulterior motive, she played the fool - something she was very good at. "I have no idea what you're talking about Hino Rei." She replied in a voice just as cold. The senshi detected a deeper fight about to occur - a worse fight than they had ever seen.
Ami leapt in, hoping to avoid the inevitable confrontation. "Usagi, didn't you need to study for that math exam this week?"
"Don't interfere Ami!" Rei snapped, causing Ami to withdraw in hurt silence and Makoto to scowl at her. "Now Odango Atama, tell the truth if you are capable of it. What are you hiding from us?"
Usagi dropped the idiot façade as she glared angrily at Rei. "None of your damn business Rei." She snarled. "If I wanted you to know then I'd sure as hell tell you, so dry up and die!"
Rei blinked, not used to having Usagi use such a tone with her, indeed she was unused to having Usagi fight back at all. "Dumb blonde." She began, hoping to provoke her.
Usagi was having none of it today. "Bugger off you satanic, black haired, doujinshi reading, boyfriend stealing, purple eyed, crow loving, backstabbing, ass wiping fat piglet of a cross eyed skunk!"
Rei's jaw dropped as Usagi stood. Minako's eyes were bulging out of her head as she stared at Usagi as if she had grown another head. Makoto repeated the insults, committing them to memory as Ami looked slightly smug at Usagi having taken Rei down a notch. No one had ever heard their "leader" use such language on anyone before. Indeed no one knew that Usagi was capable or had the vocabulary skills to insult someone to that capacity. "How dare you." She hissed in a low and angry voice. "How dare you talk to me that way?"
"Is it any worse than what you say to me?" Usagi shot back. "To my face or behind my back?" she smiled at her sweetly. "I know every thought that runs through your head Hino Rei, so don't think for one moment that you can put one over on me. You've had it in for me since the first day we met, and you will continue to have it in for me until we end this one way or another. Shall I warn you now that I will drop the illusion I've assumed for you?" she winked at her other friends. "I'll keep you guys posted ne?" she glared at Rei one last time. "You keep it up and you'll be the one thrown out of the senshi - not me."
"You knew about that?" Rei gasped.
Usagi didn't reply, just had an 'I know more than you think I know.' Glint in her eye and walked out the jinjya. Her only thought was 'This time, I'll do it right.'

Setsuna smiled from the Gates of Time. Indeed her Princess was showing her spine of steel and was in rare form. She winked at Chronos who's forgiveness she'd end up begging for for the rest of eternity. Her face fell when she turned her magenta eyes to the livid face of Neo Queen Serenity. Shame raced through her as she thought of her sins. Queen Serenity stood next to her daughter just as furious and just as upset. Neo King Endymion couldn't even look at her. She had meddled with time, but worse was that she had betrayed her Princess for revenge on Chronos. Grateful that she was giving Usagi a chance to rewrite her destiny, thankful that this time she would make amends, worried that this time Usagi was fighting back during the infamous break up, she sighed. Her punishment would be a long time in the serving since she was immortal. Her biggest worry was Rei…no matter what timeline she looked in, she was always nasty, she was always cruel. "She will succeed where she could not before." Neo Queen Serenity said abruptly, a slight attempt to soothe her senshi. They had been friends before Setsuna's deception…
"Why do you say that?" she asked in a small voice, unable to bring her eyes to meet her Queen's.
"Because there's a strength in me that sometimes you can't see, and Usagi in that time is taking full control and she will make it on her own, with or without Endymion I think." She explained. "Continue to watch Setsuna, and Chronos, make sure she keeps her hands out of the timeline?"
Chronos nodded, his eyes narrowing at his love. "Her Time Key has been taken from her, her penance will be served. Worry not your Majesty, things will be put aright again."
"For all our sakes, I hope so."

Ok, I realize that I won't be the most popular of people, having made Setsuna a little naughty, and don't get me wrong - I like Setsuna though I wish she didn't favour Chibi Brat so much. I've never read a story where Setsuna meddled or got into trouble or basically acted like a normal person…she's always shrouded in mystery which I love…I just decided to change her character a little bit. Don't worry, she gets better and her penance isn't all that bad, after all, Chronos loves her and Neo Queen Serenity trusts her still. So let me know what you think, please read and review but be kind! Support people! No flames!

A slight blurb on life in Japan…it's the rainy season here…my hair frizzed one month ago and that was the end of that…every day is a bad hair day…clothes lines have to be hung inside because of the massive humidity and they won't dry outside. Many of you would say….use a dryer. Well I'd love to! My kingdom for a dryer! However they don't have them here in Japan! They DO NOT exist here! Argh! The bar scene is incredible. The place for going to bars is Roppongi - let me tell you that is a scene and some there…I try to go every week! Wow! And with the World Cup happening here…well I don't feel quite some homesick with all the other foreigners and that's good. Culture shock galore though. I've gone through 3 stages of culture shock to date and 2 earthquakes. I hope I don't go through any more culture shock since I know the earthquakes are inevitable. Ah well. I love it here anyway! What a clean city Tokyo is! And how polite the people! But I still miss Canada…and decent ice cream…

Ja!
