Chapter II

Makoto ran up soon after the discussion between the outers ended. She was panting heavily, followed closely by Rei. Ami and Minako ran up together, and after a couple of minutes, Bunny panted up, carrying Luna and Artemis. The senshi huddled together, and were ready to discuss.

"Wait!!" A small voice piped up as soon as they were ready to discuss the missing Hotaru. "Chibi-Usa! I told you to stay home with Diana! The weather is awful!" Chibi-Usa shook her head violently, almost shaking the gray kitten Diana off.

"Hotaru's my best friend! I'm going to help find her! And anyway, Bunny, I wore your old jacket!! So let's go!" Bunny smiled, looking at the small girl in her big pink raincoat. Pride swelled in her for her future child. Her thoughts of the faraway future faded as Ami began to talk.

"We must transform. I can use my computer, and those close to her will feel her energy. It's probably good Chibi-Usa is here." They nodded, pulling out various pens and brooches.

"Moon Eternal, Make Up!"

"Pink Crystal Moon Power, Make Up!"

"Mercury Crystal Power, Make Up!!"

"Mars Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Venus Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Uranus Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Neptune Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Pluto Crystal Power, Make Up!"
There was a pause while they waited to hear the familiar "Saturn Crystal Power, Make Up!!" With sad realization, they finished their transformations.

"I found this." Pluto held out her hand and presented the broken communicator. Rei rubbed Sailor Moon's back as a sob rose up and escaped from her throat.

"That's...Hotaru's..." Setsuna nodded.

"Sailor Moon, we must concentrate. We must focus our energies on finding Hotaru."

"But Hotaru isn't Saturn." Haruka pointed out.

"I can feel her energy. It's weak, but it's there." Sailor Chibi- Moon said, staring into space. Without hesitation, the senshi moved together in a circle, hands touching.

"We will find Hotaru!" Chibi-Moon yelled, her moon sigil glowing on her forehead. A pastel pink glow surrounded her. Sailor Jupiter, holding Chibi-Moon's hand, cried out.

"Hotaru!! We'll find you and show you we're true friends!" Her green Jupiter sigil appeared as well as a jade green aura.

"Hotaru need a chance to finally live with people and love surrounding her!!" Sailor Venus called out, her orange-yellow sigil glowing. She bathed in her orange aura, raising her head to the heavens.

"Yes. Hotaru is one of us, forever." Sailor Mars whispered, her fiery aura building around her and her sigil glowing red, replacing her tiara.

"Hotaru...we love you..."

"Hotaru...I'm so sorry..." Neptune and Uranus looked at each other , their sigils and auras bursting out in gold and aqua.

"My little Firefly, we'll find you..." Pluto whispered softly, her sigil and aura growing.

"Then we shall find Hotaru, our friend and companion and help guide her!!" Eternal Sailor Moon yelled, her beautiful white aura filling in the blank space of the circle. After only moments, Chibi-Moon jerked, running away from the circle. She turned and ran down a small path.

"Chibi-Moon!!" Sailor Moon began to run after her. The senshi looked at each other quickly, then followed.

The room was dark where Hotaru was. She was naked, her pale skin in contrast with the dark. She lay on the cold floor, and she could feel her purple sigil burning on her forehead. She sat up slowly, looking at her surroundings. All that was there was a door with the symbol of Saturn on it. She stood up and began to move towards it.

"Hotaru." She turned around, facing her own alter ego-Sailor Saturn.
"Saturn?"

"Hotaru, do not open that door." Hotaru looked back at the door. It glowed slightly.

"If you open that door, your life will end. You will return to the land of the dead until your rebirth."

"I'm...dead?" Saturn pointed to her with a long hand.

"This is the pathway to the land of the dead. If you go through that door..." Hotaru again looked at the door, this time with nervous eyes.

"Hotaru, the time has not come for you to again guard the land of the dead. Your friends are here for you. The little one needs you. Danger is coming, and without you, the world will be destroyed and forgotten."

"It depends on me?" Saturn and surroundings began to fade.

"Saturn?"

"Your friends are reviving you. Go now, and watch the young Small Lady." She disappeared along with the door. All was black.
