" Miff if foo'!!" Baku said with a mouthful of ramen for breakfast. Kane sweatdroped. " Do you mind repeating that in English and NOT HUNGRYan?" Baku swallowed.

" I said this is good! Where'd ya get it??"

" Baku, we have that stuff back home too," Shute said. " Really? What meaning did my life have without these then??" (A/N: *facefaults* Baku! -.-) Everyone laughed.

" Oh, and Kane? For some reason…I think of candy when I hear your name for some reason…makes me hungry," Baku commented out of the blue, making Kane hit his head on the table while Zero muttered something. (A/N: Hahaha! *nudge* remember??)

" Okay, so is there a round coming up?" Shute asked. Kane nodded.

" It's an endurance test of some sort…I'm not quite sure what it is, but if you fail, you're going to be in the insane asylum for quite a few years…"

" Oh, uh….that's nice…" Shute said nervously.

" Okay then ya ninnies!" Baku stood up. " I'll go and take that test then!" Zero's head shot in Baku's direction.

" What?!"

" What??" Baku shrugged. Kane shook his head. " That's not a good idea for a mortal to do that…The damage may be permanent." Zero inwardly shuddered at the thought of Baku's mental stability suddenly crashing.

" So? Bring it on!"

" You're crossing the line from confidence to idiocy in a record breaking time…"

" I am not!"

" I'll go!!" Everyone looked at Zero. Baku tilted his head. " Zero?"

" I'm not letting you do this Bakunetsumaru," Zero said sternly. " But why?" Images of last night's dream suddenly zapped through Zero's memory banks in a single flash.

" I..I just can't let you. And that's that."

" But Zero--!"

" I said drop it Baku!!!" Zero said a bit too harshly. Baku was taken aback. Zero blinked, then looked down. " Er….sorry…." He then walked out of the hotel room and into the hallway.

Kane sighed, then went out after him after seeing Baku's look of confusion while saying, " I'll make sure he doesn't crash into a building again…"

`

Kane shut the door behind him and saw Zero leaning on the wall a few doors down. " What's eating you?"

" Huh?" Zero looked up. " Oh…nothing…"

" Don't give me that crap. It was last night, wasn't it?" Zero froze. " I don't know what you dreamed of, but I saw you waking up in cold sweat and the tension when you looked over at Baku…" Zero looked down.

" It was scary…I…I .." The images of him biting into Baku and his dead body in his arms crossed his mind. He shuddered. He suddenly jumped when he felt something on his shoulder.

" Chill!!" Kane said, withdrawing his hand. " You don't have to tell me if it was that bad…" Kane lifted Zero's head up. " Look, I'll do the test. You shouldn't do anything if you're shaken up by this." Zero shook his head.

" N-no…I'll do it." Kane raised an invisible eyebrow. " What?"

" I'll do it…"

" Zero, you don't know what you're agreeing to…" Zero sighed, " I just feel like I have to for some reason…for Baku and …Litho…" Kane took a step back.

" I see. Alright then…" Kane turned on his heel to go to the stairs. " Oh, I heard they're going to display Litho at the tournament grounds at noon, so you and Baku better hurry up if you want to see him…" Zero turned and was about to say something, but the black knight was gone.

" I hate it when he does that…" he muttered. He shook his head, then ran into their room calling for Baku.

***

Litho sniffedled quietly as he sat in his cage. Normally, cages wouldn't hold him. But this cage was hexed, so he couldn't get out at all. He didn't look up as he was being displayed like a rare diamond in this large place. Well, at least there was light….

" Litho!!" Litho's head shot up as he looked around. " Litho!!" He looked behind him, then smiled happily. " Daddy!!"

Bakunetsumaru ran up to Litho and hugged his son through the bars. " Oh god! I've been so worried!!" Baku sobbed. Litho wanted to cry so badly, but he kept it in. (A/N: Aww.)

" D-Daddy…"

" Don't worry, sweetie. We're here to win this, and take you back home with us!" Zero came up behind Baku and patted Litho on the head. " Papa!!"

" Don't worry, nothing's going to keep us from getting you out of here," Zero said confidently. Litho nodded in agreement. " Yeah!! I bet you can defeat that Kibbles and bits guy!" Zero tilted his head while Baku got what Litho was talking about, and laughed.

" Who?"

" He's talking about Kibaomaru!" Baku laughed. " Yeah…Uh, whatever his name is," Litho said non-caring way. Zero smiled while patting Litho again.

" And that's why he's my son!" Baku giggled. The samurai kissed Litho on the forehead and hugged him again. It was uncomfortable to do that through bars, but it didn't take away the comforting feeling of reuniting.

" My sweet little baby…" Baku whispered. " I'll make sure nothing ever happens to you after this again!"

" Hey you two!" Baku and Zero turned to look a security demon. " You can't be that close to the Litho creature. I suggest that you two leave now since the competition isn't ready yet."

" What?!" Baku glowered. " Why I …" Zero put a hand on Baku's arm. The musha sighed. He turned to Litho. " I'm sorry, but we got to go.." Litho nodded in understanding, and tried not to look sad. Baku didn't even cover up his sadness. " Don't worry…This will be over with soon…"

" TODAY…"

" I'm going, damnit!!" Baku spat, then patted Litho on the head, and walked by the guard, but not before stepping on his foot.

" Litho.." Litho looked to see Zero didn't leave. The guard was too occupied with his foot to notice. Zero knelt next to Litho and cupped something in his hands. " I'm going to give you a present for being s very strong and good boy," he said. He opened up his hands and in a puff of magic, laid a jewel encrusted red box. It was fairly small, but very pretty.

" What is it?" Litho asked while taking it. He suddenly felt a warm feeling of security wash over him.

" That's something the Princess of Lacroa gave me a long time ago. When you are really scared and need comfort, or feeling so sad; open it. It will help you through your troubled times…" He kissed Litho on the forehead, then put a hand on his head. " Stay strong, little one…" Litho nodded.

" I love you and Daddy, Papa." Zero hugged Litho tightly. He never felt such a strong desire to protect him the way a father would since Fenn. " I love you too, son."
