Back to the Beginning...Ch 5




Sometimes factors beyond our control make their prescence felt at the most inoppurtune of times. Other times, however, they are an invaluable asset. Determining when that is true or false is for the individual to decide.

Sonic slowly opened his eyes and found himself in a house. He gingerly got up out of the bed he was on and leaped to the floor. After stretching his arms and legs somewhat Sonic made his way downstairs, where he found Shadow, Knuckles, Amy, Sonie, the young boy and girl who had saved him and the others, as well as that spirit that had creeped Sonic shitless.


"Hey, guys!" Sonic eagerly notioned out to the others, getting a smile from Amy, a grin from Shadow, and a slap on the back from Knuckles.


"Thought you weren't gonna make it there, Sonic!" Knuckles jokingly notioned to the blue speedster, who merely winced at the sight of Amy; she had a good-sized knot on the top of her head where Blade had flung her across the corridor.


"Ah, glad to see you awake, hedgehog, its time to tell you what we've been discussing down here with your friends for quite some time." the young girl spoke in an almost monotone manner to Sonic.


"You see, Sonic, what they've explained to us is that, although Blade may have been mortally wounded, his spirit remained intact. When he was in the afterlife he apparentely coaxed several other wandering spirits to help him locate a victim for his spirit to take control of." Knuckles started out, getting a slow nod from Sonic.

of this, Blade was able to find Tails, who was young and full of energy, and take over his body to make it his own. However, his spirit had developed a unique trait during the ritual." Shadow stated, Sonic slowly starting to understand some of what was going on.


"Even though he took over Tails, his spirit had suffered from a downside which leaves him unable to remain in a controlled body for more then seventy-two hours straight. It was the only reason he left Tails' body to unite with yours." Amy continued, Sonic's 'oh's' and nods were gibing the others the impression he was getting this down good.


"Theerefore, when he took over your body, he was so full of his new found speed that he had forgotten that it takes one minute for the spirit to fully attach it self to its victim. Any harsh jarring or major assault on the host may jar the spirit loose, which was the case with Shadow kicking the spirit out of Sonic's body." Sonie finished, some more nods coming out of Sonic.


"So, hedgehog, do you fully grasp what has been said to you now?" Anna asked Sonic.


"Yes, I understand fully whats going on." Sonic started, getting sighs of relief from the others. "-I understand fully that this makes no sense whatsoever." Everyone face-faulted at this.


Anna was fuming at this gesture and made Sonic aware that she was the, eh, bitch of the household. "Listen up, hedgehog, the safety of the universe is at stake, so we can't have your puny delays keeping us from fulfilling our part! Now, understand this or do the chores for the rest of this week!" Anna said, her face a beet-red.


"Heh, listen, girl, I don't know who you think you are, but I'm the worlds fastest hedgehog! I can take anything you dish out!" Sonic said in an arrogant manner.


"ANYTHING?" Anna said, raising her eyebrow.


"ANYTHING!" Sonic replied, same arrogance as before.


"Well, then...heres what I want you to do..." Anna got out a flim of paper and unrolled it, reaching out about three feet long. "I want you to wash the dishes, clean the floors, wash the clothes, take a shower, get some weights on, run thirty miles down the street without a break, run back thirty miles without a break, make lunch, cook dinner, make the beds, scrub the floors in the bathroom, eat what I give you, clean the gutters, clean out the refrigerator, take a one-hour swim for exercise, and give me a full massage." Anna said without taking a breath, getting some applause from Sonic.


"Pretty good, girl, but if you REALLY knew me, you would know thats child's play for someone like me! I'll show ya!" Sonic said as he dashed in and out of the house, blue blurs were the only things visible as he went through all the items on the list in under fifteen seconds.


Sonic dashed back into the room where Anna was and grinned a huge grin, not even realizing that Anna wasn't smiling.


"That would've been better then anything Yoh has ever done...but you didn't do something..." Anna said coldly.


"Yeah? And what would that be?" Sonic asked, arrogant as ever.


"You didn't give me my massage." Anna said plainly.


"Oh! Well, that'll be a piece-o'-cake!" Sonic went to massage Anna but felt a large object crash into his skull.


"Don't you even think about it, Sonic." The voice that could've only belonged to Amy said. Sonic looked at her and smiled weakly before falling to the floor. Amy waved her hammer in triumph.


"Pity...I was really looking forward to that massage..." Anna said, no emotion in her voice as Yoh and Amidamaru merely laughed at Sonic's expense.


"You want some too?" Amy shot back, glaring at Yoh and the spirit infront of her. The two waved their hands infront of them for mercy.


"Aie-ie-ie...I can tell this is gonna be a unique experience..." Shadow muttered as him and Knuckles went to he kitchen to make a sandwich.
