Falling For You
Falling. It's a wonderful feeling. I know most would think I was crazy or suicidal if they heard me say that, but I'm not. I just enjoy the weightlessness, the wind, and the feeling of being free. It's peaceful and calming. I've always wished that I could fall forever; I never wanted to hit the ground. Whenever I was falling I was carefree. Hao couldn't hurt me, and I couldn't hurt anyone. Nothing was wrong whenever I was suspended in the air. It was a way to escape.

Sadly the ground was fast approaching, and soon it would all be over. Despite all the suffering I had been through, I didn't want to die. I found myself praying for someone to save me. Unfortunately someone did. I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and promptly felt my savior and myself start to rise gently back up to the top of the cliff with the others.

I closed my eyes tightly. I didn't want to see who had rescued me; party because I already knew, and I most certainly didn't want him holding me the way he was.

Hao laid my body down on the top of the cliff where Marco had been. (Three of the X-LAWS had taken his body back to wherever they were staying, and now the only X-LAWS left on the cliff-top were Meene, Lyserg, Venstar, Cebin, and Jeanne.) Hao kneeled so he could lean over me. His eyes were wild with fear and his voice had a distinctly anxious tone to it quite unlike his usual self. “Are you okay Ivy?!”

I slowly opened my eyes, not wishing to be back on top of the cliff with the X-LAWS and Hao. I pushed him off of me and stood up. I was a little shaky, but I could walk. “I would have been fine if you didn't try to save me!” I snapped. I would have been fine if it were Yoh, or even one of the X-LAWS saving me, but no. It had to be Hao.

I was so mad that he just couldn't leave me in peace. I decided to make the weather fit my mood. I raised my right arm to the heavens as dark storm clouds rolled like fog over the moon. I swiftly brought my arm back down to my side; a clap of thunder and flash of lightening graced the dreary black sky. Rain poured down upon us to cleanse the earth.

For once Hao's grin faltered. “Are you saying you'd rather die than continue to live with me?” he gave a depressed sigh.

“What does it sound like I'm saying, Hao? Yes. I'd rather die than have to spend the rest of my life with you!” I bellowed.

He wouldn't hear it, “You're my fiancée. You don't have a choice in the matter, like it or not!”

“Fiancée!! You're no fiancée of mine!” I mocked. “You have no knowledge about me what so ever! Do you know my favorite color? What about my hobbies? My dreams, goals, secrets, fears? No! You don't even know my favorite animal, band, food, or what I like to do for fun! You know nothing, yet you still consider me your fiancée!? I don't think so. I don't care what I said in the past, I will never marry you. I want you to leave and never let me see you again.” For the last two sentences, my voice was as cold as ice and stung like knives.

I had had so much pent up anger in me for so long, it felt good to finally let it out. I wanted to hurt him as much as possible, but I knew what ever harm I could do to him would never equal out to the amount of suffering he had caused me. I had snapped and broke out into a fit of unquenched rage. I lost all control of my body in my momentary bout of madness and rushed toward Hao pushing him off the cliff.

I knew he wouldn't let himself fall, he would be all right, and he could use the Spirit of Fire to levitate. I knew he would be fine, but what scared me was that I had meant to kill him. Was I really like that? A murderer? Even if it was him…he was still human right?

Hao levitated back up to the top of the cliff and stared confused at me for a minute. I turned and ran, pushing Venstar and Cebin out of my way. The X-LAWS saw it was a bad day to try to save anyone's soul, so they left.
I stopped running as a reached Yoh. I slowly approached him.

Yoh held out his hand for me to take as if saying, `Here's your second chance. Please take it.'

I pushed his hand out of the way again.

He sighed and thought `Why won't she just admit when she needs help and take it?

Until I instead jumped into his arms and kissed him. He was a little startled at first, but soon responded. After a minute or three I broke the kiss and sunk into Yoh's welcoming arms. He held me and whispered, “Let's go home, Ivy.”

“Yes. I'd like that.” I cooed. Yoh and I started to walk away from that awful cliff. He still had his arm around my waist, and I was kind of walking diagonally so that I could keep both arms around Yoh. I don't know what possessed me to look back, but I did, and what I saw was the saddest thing. There stood Hao Asakura, drenched to the skin looking pathetic with a deeply hurt look on his face. He stood starring after us looking heart broken. He looked as if he could start crying at any minute, or maybe he already was. I couldn't tell because his face was splattered with raindrops.

I looked back straight ahead and ignored Hao, holding on to Yoh even tighter. I had no sympathy for the devil though, and left the wretched creature standing on the top of a cliff in the rain watching the love of his life walk off in the arms of his own brother.
