Finding Your Way Home
As Yoh and I walked in the rain down the street in each other's arms I couldn't stop my thoughts from wondering back to Hao. He had looked so pathetic standing there, drenched starring at me confused. He looked absolutely lost like an abandoned puppy caught out in a storm. I felt sorry for him. I couldn't help it. I'm not really the cold heartless person I pretend to be.

“Ivy?” a soft voice next to my ear called to me.

“Hmm?” I tilted my head upward slightly to look at Yoh.

He stopped and walked me over to a nearby bench. I sat down and he stood over me, looking me over, inspecting me. “You still owe me an explanation.”

“Where do you want me to start Yoh-koi?” I looked up lovingly, but tiredly at him, hoping he would see my exhaustion and leave me alone until morning.

Apparently he did notice how tired I was and asked, “Uh…are you okay?” He walked over to me, and sat down. He turned my face toward himself, and felt for a fever, gently pushing my bangs out of the way.

“No, I don't feel too well.” I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed in pleasure as he continued to stroke my face and play with my hair. He was so gentle and kind with me. Hao would never be like that.

“We need to get you inside quick. Here, it's not much further; I'll carry you.” Yoh lifted me and carried me bridal style. I was so tired; I fell asleep, safe in his arms.

I regained consciousness when I felt myself being lowered onto a bed. I snapped straight up, and my head collided with someone else's. “Ouch!” I whimpered.

“Are you okay, Ivy? Sorry about that. I was trying not to wake you, but…” Yoh replied sheepishly.

I smiled brightly up at him. “No. No, I'm okay. Thank you though…for taking care of me…you could have just left me out on the street, but…you didn't. Hao would never take in someone unless they were of some use to him. I fail to see of what use I could be to you.” I mused.

Yoh looked taken aback for a minute, but soon laughed it off, saying, “I do have a use for you.”

I looked at him suspiciously for a minute. If he was anywhere near as perverted as Hao, this would not end well.

“You're cute, and I like to look at you.” He bent down and gave me a small kiss on the cheek. “What I want from you is to help you and be your friend. Noting more.”

`My God, he's serious!' That was a huge relief! “O-okay!” I spat out happily.

“Yoh, get away from that filth. You don't know what Hao's been doing with it! It probably has his germs all over it.” An obnoxious British accent interrupted out moment.

Yoh turned around to look at Ren, sitting cross-legged on a stool on the other side of the room. The two others from before were there too. Trey propped up against the wall at the foot of my bed, and Jocko sitting on the floor.

“Awwe, come on, Ren! She hasn't been doing anything with Hao! I think she's totally sanitary. Besides, she's going to be staying with us permanently, or until she decides to leave. Get use to her Ren. She needs our help, and protection from Hao.”

`So alike, and yet, so different.' I mused.

“Yoh, I refuse to live under the same roof with that.” Ren scowled at me as he turned up his nose in disgust.

“Ren, she's a person. Treat her like one.” Yoh reprimanded my brother.

“I don't like her. She reminds me too much of that annoying sister of mine. Judo Tao…that little witch.” I could have sworn I saw a tear forming in Ren's eye as he spoke of my former self.

“Is that why you hate me, Ren? Because I look and act like your baby sister?! Get over it; I'm staying.” I spoke up for myself.

“Oh, no you're not! I won't be having Hao's woman sneaking around here spying on us for him! Get out now or die!” Ren gracefully pulled out his Kwan Dao, and pointed it at me.

“Oh, so that's it. You don't believe I'm not with Hao after all. Then I'm better off dead at my own hands than yours.” `Forgive me for taking my own life, but I cannot allow you to kill me Ren. If you kill me now and ever find out that Ivy and Judo are one in the same you'd never forgive yourself for murdering your precious baby sister. I do this for you my brother. Who knows? It may end some of my own suffering as well.' I grabbed Yoh's sword and prepared to make a fatal cut to my neck.

Unfortunately Jocko and Trey overpowered me and got the sword away before I could finish the job. I threw the two boys off of me and made a mad dive for the weapon. Just as I got my hand around the hilt, Ren brought his foot down, crushing my hand. “Ahhhhh!” I screeched at the sudden burst of pain. Yoh took my momentary period of weakness to pin me to the ground with his body with one of my wrists in each hand.

He lowered himself to whisper in my ear. The position we were in scared me, because it reminded me of what his older twin brother use to threaten to do to me if I misbehaved. But instead of the harsh words I was use to with Hao, soothing words met my ears. I closed my eyes and tuned into his faint voice. “Shhhh. Why are you doing this? Death isn't the answer. I won't let anyone hurt you. Everything will work out, you'll see. While we're here, I think it's a suitable time for my explanation. What did Hao do to you?”

I, in turn, raised my head to speak into his ear. “He promised he could help me stop the power “accidents” from happening. He said he would make it so I could control my power and not kill anymore. I didn't ask his name before I sold my soul to him. I didn't know what was happening and he confused me. He used and tricked me. He tried to rape me several times. I ran away. I came looking for you. I thought you could help me. The X-LAWS got me and associated me with Hao. Now they want to kill me `cause I won't join them. I don't know where Anna is, but I didn't do anything to her. I promise.”

As if on cue, Anna and the rest of the gang who had been missing up until this point barged in. I can only guess what Anna was thinking when she found her fiancée lying on top of some random girl with her clothes falling off of her in a pretty suggestive position.
