X-LAWS Attack
“Oh. My. God. Leave me alone!!!! You stupid people can't take a hint, can you?!” I screamed at Jeanne, Lyserg (who is still alive, by the way. Lol!), Marco, and the rest of the annoying “good” doers.
“Do not defy us, Ivy. We will have to hurt you if you don't hand over Hao.” Marco warned.
“Get out of my way! He's incoherently drunk, and it's kind of my fault. I won't let you hurt him while he's in this condition. It's against my Honor Code.” I scoffed. Hao was an enemy of mine (sort of…), but the annoying X-LAWS are far worse!
“Ivy, please, be reasonable!” Lyserg tried persuade. “He's done as much, if not more, damage to you as he's done to us. Let's end the suffering now. Just hand him over cooperatively, and all of our problems can be solved.”
“No!! I'll never let you kill him!! He's mine!” I screamed. I stopped cold when I realized what I had said. `Why did I say that? Why? I hate him, right? Yes—yes, of course I do. Then why did I say that? You just want to kill him yourself. That's all. Nothing more.'
“I feel sad for you.” Jeanne opened the little door of her Iron Maiden, and spoke to me. “You have grown attached to the monster.”
“Have not!!” I denied, sounding little kiddish.
“Then why do you protect the infidel? “ Marco countered.
“I have no flippin' idea, but you can't kill him now!! It's just wrong! I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait until he's conscious and sober!” I snarled.
“Then we must take you along with your lover.” Marco stated plainly as easily as if he were saying, “You know, stop signs are red and have an octagonal shape.”
“I'll fight you.” I glared at the unfeeling shells of people standing before me.
“Hahahahaha!! You have no weapon! How can you fight us, the almighty X-LAWS? You're fighting God!” One of the group, Prof, poked fun at me.
I set Hao down out of the way off to the side. `I need a lot of furyoku for this, and I don't want to use mine…I could always transfer Hao's furyoku into my body. Good thing I grabbed some transplant talismans before I left.' I swiftly placed one of my talismans over Hao's heart as I laid him on the ground. I discreetly placed the other talisman over my own heart. I don't think the X-LAWS noticed; if they did they didn't say anything.
“Who said I need a weapon?” I smirked as I slowly slid my arms upward towards the sky, and began to sing, almost chant with my eyes closed.
“Don't look back on my life and judge, it's just too tragic.
Do not look down upon me, my dears, I am no witch; I just like magic.
The wind shall blow, rain come in tow.
Now you shall see the gift God, on me, bestowed: witness the storm of Prospero!”
At the end of my chilling little hymn, I flung my arms downward as if cutting through the air, and my eyes snapped open. A loud rumble of thunder was heard fast approaching, and the wind started to pick up. Lightening flashed and rain started pouring from the sky. The X-LAWS were soaked in a matter of nanoseconds, but the rain didn't dare touch its master, so I remained perfectly dry. Hao also stayed immaculate, for I did not want to lag a sopping wet Hao home, and the rain bowed to my will.
“So the little witch has some power after all.” Marco (looking like a drowned blonde sewer rat) spat.
“I do.” I affirmed. “It's a good thing I grabbed my prayer beads when I ran out the door. I might need my spirits to fight.” I fell into a trance as I summoned forth my ghosts:
“One I place for my Sister, oblivious and unknown.
Two I place for my Mother, currently residing in a place I could never call `home'.
Three I place for my Father, cruel and unloving.
The way I see it, there is no use in running,
So hear my voice on high.
Hear my prayer beads and draw nigh.
Come forth, Spirits three,
And in the battle, aid me!”
Aikido, Isabelle, and Chip materialized before me, each carrying their weapons. Aikido held her Hoshihara (“Star-field”) blade ready to strike, Chip circled above Aikido's head holding his mother's feather medium in his beak. Both were ready to fight. Isa stood to the side looking bored. The Látigo de Diablo (her whip “Devil Whip”) loosely hang in her hand, and Jack (her gun) was not even cocked.
I sighed and ignored the stubborn, arrogant, smug, moody, ghost. “Now who's weaponless?”
The nine `Soldiers of God' growled softly at me. The boys were ready for a fight. “Why do we delay any longer?! She clearly wants a fight! Let's give it to her!” One of the rowdy men, Larch, called to his fellow X-LAWS. And they pounced upon me.
I was gone before they could touch me. The whole of them looked around bewildered. “Up here, morons!” I taunted, and they looked up, and stood awestruck at my new set of wings. I had oversouled Chip into his mother's feather, and he lent me his power of flight.
“Come down and fight coward!” Another one of the men, Denbat, yelled up to me.
“Why don't your angels come and get me?” I sneered.
“Ready X-LAWS? Let us slay the harlot and avenge our sorrows and the sorrows of the world by killing her master!” Marco instructed.
My storm was still raging, and right then a huge flash of lightening cracked, temporarily blinding the justice doers. I took advantage of their momentary uselessness, and used the lightening to mask my descent. I swooped down upon them like a harpy, knocking out one of the annoying men, Denbat.
“It's no use. I have more power now if you haven't noticed. In addition to my regular Allure powers, I now control—“ I disappeared in a wall of fire, and reappeared behind them. “—fire.” I grabbed the now soaked shirt of another X-LAW, Prof, and sent an electric current through him, sending him under.
“Two down, seven to go.” I winked as I flew back above their heads. “Isabelle! Partial Possession!”
“What's a `Partial Possession'?” I heard Lyserg ask Marco.
“I'm not sure.” The elder admitted.
“Hahaha!! Ya'll wouldn't. It's an Ivy thing. We're the only shaman team I know a that does it. It's a right amazing feat, it is. Partial Possession is a few steps up from what regular Shaman do with their oversouls.” Isabelle answered from inside my body. “I'm half oversouled inta the whip and the gun, but I'm alsa integrated with Ivy. Watch our superior power, and see if you insult us then!”
“Feel the power of the Devil Whip!” I shouted as the whip flew at yet another X-LAW, Larch, and cut off his oxygen supply until he joined his friends on the ground.
“And say howdy t' Jack!” Isabelle added as she shot Meene. The bullets in the gun were made of pure spirit energy, so they did not kill her, but only knocked her to the ground, and made her black out.
“Your turn, Aikido! Fusion Partial Possession Time!” Aikido joined Isa half inside my body, half oversouled into the Hoshihara.
“Oh it feels so good to finally do this again!! Time I got in on the action. Ready Judo?” Aikido referred to me by my former name as she always had. She rotated which name she used for me.
I lifted the Hoshihara and prepared to use Aikido to strike. “Okay, sure. Say Goodnight, Cebin!” I called out my prey before he hit the ground.
Venstar then approached me. I whipped out some ju fu talismans and summoned my warriors up from the earth. They we never live humans, just warriors made of the earth's clay, so they weren't all that strong. It took thirteen of my clay warriors to down Venstar. Now all that was left was Marco, Lyserg, and Jeanne.
“You shall not defeat God, you and your kind will fall!” Marco charged right at me with his angel in tow. I sidestepped, and they ran face first into the wall I had been standing in front of. I'm not sure if he broke his nose, but I'm positive he broke his glasses. There was a sickening crack as he hit the wall though. “Ewww…he won't be up and about for a while.”
I turned to Jeanne and Lyserg. “Well…all of your friends are out cold for the next few days; what are you going to do now?” I asked them, not taunting or teasing them at all. It was a simple question (such as “What do you want for Lunch today?”). I wanted a simple answer.
“I'll fight you Ivy.” Lyserg gulped. I pitied him…I really did. He was so innocent, so kind. He really didn't want to fight me at all.
“You don't have to, you know. I can just walk away right now, and no one else would be hurt tonight. I'm sick of fighting. I think it would be better if we could just settle this by talking. I really never have liked fighting in the first place. Agreed?” I tried to reason. I didn't want to hurt more people than necessary to get my point across.
“I think that's a grand idea.” The tin can spoke up. “Give us Hao so that we may destroy him and rid the world of suffering. Then we all may go home and sleep in peace tonight.”
“I couldn't sleep peacefully knowing that I could have saved him, but instead I handed him over just so you'd leave me alone. I know we would all like to forget that Hao is human, sometimes I think even he wants to forget, but he is what he is, and I won't let you murder him in his sleep when he can't defend himself. I'm sorry. I won't let you. My conscious won't let me do it.” I tried to reach out to her and make her see that killing someone to show that killing is wrong is just as wrong as that person killing in the first place. Killing to show that killing is wrong, is wrong in itself.
“He gave up the privilege of being human as soon as he slaughtered thousands at a time. He no longer is human, so you should not treat him as such.” Jeanne instructed, coming out of her Iron Maiden. “Why do you still protect him? He's done worse to you than some others who would have him killed on sight. I don't understand you, Ivy Kyôyama.”
I dropped to my knees beside Hao's unconscious body. I looked at him for a while, studying every detail. I had no idea why I protected him. “I guess that it's something I believe in. Anyone who sees spirits can't be all bad. He's probably suffered more than I have when he was younger. He's probably suffered more than any of us can ever know. That's why I put up with all of his crap.” I paused to gather my thoughts again. “I think that he just needs someone to help him. He needs someone to talk to, someone who loves him, and doesn't judge. He needs to fall in love and have his love returned. I hope he finds her one day. I know how it feels to be alone in the world; then I found Yoh. I can only hope the best comes out of this situation…”
“I'm sorry, but I can't let him go. He's weak, and we can kill him now. I'll not let him reek havoc on future generations.” She placed a small pale hand on my shoulder. “I have to fight you, or you have to give up. The choice is yours, Ivy. Will you fight for him?”
I stood slowly, really thinking about what I should say, what the right thing to say was, what the wrong thing to say, what my mom would say, what my dad would say, what my brother and sisters would say, what would Jesus do (Lol Sorry had to put it in there, with the X-LAWS present it's kind of a religious moment.), what would Yoh do, what would I do? All sorts of questions flowed through my brain. They were all pushed away the moment I got to my feet. I had no doubt in my mind, so I stated firmly, “It's worth it. I care too much about not becoming a killer again. I won't stand by and watch someone be murdered, even if it is only him.”
Jeanne nodded quickly, “I see. Shamash! It's time to fight. Let's introduce her to the Iron Maiden. I think she would look good in one.”
I jumped back away from the jaws of death that were the Iron Maiden she was determined to put me in, and I drew my prayer beads again. “Try that again now that your spirit is imprisoned by my beads!”
Jeanne looked stunned, “H-how did you…?”
Lyserg noticed what I was about to do and tried to warn the maiden. “Jeanne-sama!! Look out behind you!!”
I had a doppelganger of myself placed in front of her, and was about to attack her from the behind. She quickly spun around, but she was not fast enough to avoid my dropkick to the face. `Ouch…' Needless to say she was out cold and bloody when she hit the mud.
“Just you and me Lyserg. What's your decision?” I inquired.
“I will fight you. I can beat you. I have to. I can't drop out now that everyone else has taken their turn. I can't back out now. I will fight you.” Lyserg chanted.
He was so determined to take me down; I found it cute how he was so sure he could win. It's a shame he was in such denial. He knew he couldn't win, and it sort of pained me to crush his hopes and dreams.
“Sorry. You can't win Lyserg. I know it, you know it, even that squirrel over there gathering nuts out in the rain knows that you can't win. You don't have enough power for such a situation. I'm sorry, but I don't want to hurt you.” I started to walk over to Hao to prepare him to walk away.
A pendulum just missed my head as I ducked when I saw it coming. I could sense it even if I had my back to Lyserg. “I will win; I have to win.” This was becoming his anthem.
I walked back over to him and slapped him on the cheek. “Don't ever send that thing anywhere close to my beloved head ever again.” I breathed. I'm sorry, but I really must have you asleep now. Goodnight Lyserg.” I said as I grabbed a glass bottle and broke it over his head. He was immediately knocked unconscious.
I walked over to Hao, who was sleeping more or less peacefully, sort of. I picked him up as to not interfere with my wings, and took off carrying Hao back to Yoh's house. I finally got home at around one in the morning, and I was dead tired. I landed on the roof, and used my new fire magic I had borrowed from Hao to teleport into my room without being noticed.
I laid Hao on my bed, and covered him up so that he would stay warm. It was more than he deserved, but he was drunk, it was my fault he was drinking, and what would it hurt letting him sleep in my bed one night?
`What if he wakes up and tries something?...I could always put a binding spell on him, and that would hold his whole body neck-down still. It would work. This was a foolproof plan. I'll just bind his powers. Perfect. I'm going to take a shower.' I sighed as left the room. `Ivy…you shouldn't let him stay…I don't see this as ending well.' I teleported to the bathroom so that no one in the house would see me out in the halls and question me. `It's going to be a long night.'
