Dark angel: *Walks in smiling* Hallo! People asked for a continuation for this little one-shot fic, so I decided to try and continue somehow… it WAS kind of difficult, for I did not intend to continue it *Rubs the back of her head as she sweatdrop* But what can I say? I love reviews, and 3 out of five wanted me to continue, so I did *Smiles* so here is the product of my efforts to fight against writer's block! Hope you like it and review it too!
Disclaimer: Nope, I don't own anything… don't own the Slayers, nor Xellos, nor Filia… not even the song in this fic… T-T I own NOTHING!!! *Sobs and sniffles*

The forest at night tended to look gloomy and sinister, however, tonight, it didn't look at all like that, or at least thought Xellos as he walked under the starlit sky, trying to think about the resent twists that had taken place after the night he had dreamt about the blond girl… he had began questioning himself about her identity; could she have been Filia? Had they both shared the same dream? He wasn't sure, however, he did know that the evidence pointed towards that.
For one, Filia seemed to act in a more considerate way towards him; lately he hadn't been able to tick her off. It had been a strange change, but what struck him most was the fact that he wasn't all that sure if the change had been for the worst or not… her smile was lovely, and he hadn't seen her direct it to him in particular until right after the dream.
Besides… lately he wasn't able to tell what was a dream and what wasn't… he wasn't even sure if he was dreaming now or not. Lately his dreams had been getting weirder and weirder, up to a point he couldn't understand, although, he had to admit he was WAY better off now than before, for al least the horrible blood covered nightmares had banished.
An owl hooted somewhere in the depths of the forest and a solitary wolf howled, letting everyone appreciate where it was, as the moon light crossed the ceiling of branches to illuminate the forest floor, making it look shiny and sparkly.
Music… that's what the mazoku thought when he heard the sounds of the midnight forest, a music intricate and difficult to understand, but music never the less; The forest could recount wonders to the ones brave enough to travel through it at night, although only if that being was able to listen hard enough to hear beyond it…
Suddenly as the purple haired priest walked into a clearing, he felt words form inside him… and he didn't know why, but he began to sing in a low voice as the forest accompanied him. Xellos could have even sworn that real music could be heard around him as he sang.
"There are times when the earth is trembling and we all get lost…" he began as he looked up into the sky, opened eyed, "When the colors fade away, and the darkness rises up and bursts."
Yes, darkness… the darkness that lives inside one's soul and body could easily surface if called for, causing even the happiness of others to vanish. He knew it was true, he had seen it happen countless times; for even the smallest mistake could take you to catastrophe… you could argue that life wasn't fair, right?
"Desperately we're searching for a place we can't catch hold," he continued, raising his voice a bit more when the shadows of the trees seemed to dance around him, "And we will cross the ocean ride until we get the sense… how about a ride?"
A place he wished to reach… he was darkness and she was light. How to reach an intermediate place where both powers would be able to fuse into one alone? That was the question, and for an answer he would have done anything, he knew as that much.
"Can't somebody tell me who I am?" as he asked the question the wolf in the distance howled again, and the wind rushed across the clearing, swirling around him and making his cape spread, "Will I ever learn to live my dream?" a dream of hope… I want to live in hope, he thought as he managed to continue, "Will I be in harmony with the river deep, underneath my skin?"
By now, the clearing and the forest seemed to have come alive, as the light of the moon shone and melted with the shadows… his shadows, he thought sadly. He shouldn't hope for more than what he already had, but it was difficult to do such a thing, very, very difficult indeed.
"Can't somebody tell me who we are?" he demanded to the sky as he closed his eyes and fists, "Straighten out the path, don't walk too far!" his voice was now confident as he sang all that had been eating him inside out, "We'll we ever see the flowers growing in our yard?"
He shook his head as he thought about the possibilities of that actually happening… not likely, not likely at all. The mazoku looked at the grass of the forest floor, as he once again continued his strange song.
"There were times when our hearths were nearly full of desperation, with who I am, wishes in the wind and insistently hope for some word be granted." At least the words he had been granted, he thought, remembering how the Golden dragon had lately tried to talk with him, keeping her temper tight shut.
"At the end of our journey! We finally made the discovery that; we all cross the ocean ride just to realize the treasure lies inside…" he looked at his surroundings open eyed again as an owl descended from a nearby tree to land on top of a mouse, which had been scurrying over the moonlit floor, grabbing it with it's talons and finally flying up and away carrying his food elsewhere to eat it.
Xellos once again asked his questions from before at the darkness around him, so absorbed was he in his singing, that he didn't even notice a blond haired girl walk into the clearing until she began singing herself.
"Nothing is impossible… but there's nothing as frightening as discovering your own heart," sang the girl as she smiled at the startled mazoku in front of her, "Endless heart…"
The purple haired priest looked at her with open eyes; her smile, her bowed tail… it was her alright. Filia was singing and he still couldn't tell if everything was a dream or not, therefore he decided to join in once more, and so they sang together. Light and dark, side by side.
"And can't somebody tell me who I am?" he asked yet again, only this time, he did receive an answer when the blond haired girl hugged him and smiled, "Will I ever learn to live my dream?" he continued, and Filia answered once more, hugging him closer and seating her head on his shoulder, "Will I be in harmony with the river deep, underneath my skin?"
This time the dragon maiden raised herself and kissed him full on the lips, to which he responded gratefully. Delicate and tentative kiss it was… however, for someone able to understand the language of something like a forest, it didn't take him long to understand the meaning of it all…
The moment the blond parted from him she looked up into the starlit sky and smiled, singing once more, "Every moment has a bit of all; color, laughter, fear, delight and even pain… however, the strongest force of all lies in love," she looked into his eyes as she enter her last phrase, "Love… forever love…" she said, voice only barely above a whisper as they both seated themselves, back against a nearby tree, they hugged and eventually fell asleep, where they dreamed for a better future, future that was now within their grasp.
Unnoticed by the mazoku and the Golden one, four figures left their hiding places and returned to the camping site where they sat near the fire, trying in vain to explain what they had seen in that clearing, but to no avail.
Amelia smiled suddenly as she looked at the others, "They found each other… simple as that," she said, "There's no room for logic in it, the only thing that can be said, is that they found each other…"
What the young princess didn't know was that she was indeed right, light and dark had found each other…
Dark angel: *Stretches and yawns* Wow… late at night now… better go to bed too. I'm sleepy… I'll post this tomorrow. I think it ended quite nicely, oh! And by the way, thanks to Digi for her help *Bows* the idea came into my head after talking to you. Oh! And another thing, the part Filia sings is not part of the real song, so you wont find it, I made it up *Giggles* Anyhow, if you wanna listen to the song, it's by someone called Orange blue, *Rubs the back of her head* Don't know who they are, but I fell in love with this song, I think it fitted my purpose very well indeed. *Suddenly remembers something* Oh yeah! Don't forget to review! `K? Aaaawwww !! I love reviews! *Hugs reviews as she cooes happily* LOVE THEM!!! Bye!
