The meeting

It had taken most of the day being in the arena. Kyle ended up winning he put up a good fight. Lina waiting till most of the arena cleared out before she headed over to the back rooms she wanted to see just what the trophy looked like.

It turned out there was nothing that could help them in there search. Now all they had to go on was the meeting tonight. They went to there rooms to get ready tonight. It was about 8:50 pm when they were done getting ready she figured they would be able to head down there.

When they got done there Lina found out there was a large room that lead to a smaller one in the back part of the large room. The base wasn't nothing to look at it had its normal standards like where they put extra blankets to cleaning supply. Lina thought the back room would be a great place to hide.

"Hey Lina do you really think those people are going to be here?" Gourry watched as Lina found a nice old chair to set down on once she was settled she turned his way. Lina waited till he also sat down.

"Well Gourry I don't really know, but this is all we have to go on. So I guess here in about a minute or two we will find out." The room grew quite once they were done talking just then the door to the large room could be opening you could hear the cracking hinges they were on.

As quite as Lina could she crouched in front of the door close to her, very carefully she opened it just enough to hear what the people in the other room where going to say. There only looked to be about three of them one of them Lina thought she knew.

Lina watched the old man young guy and woman. The young man and woman turned and was facing the old man so Lina couldn't see there face. They walked towards the middle of the room where all the bed sheets where. The woman took off the bed sheets and under them where a small table and some chairs. Using more than one of the bed sheets she covered the table and their chairs. After they sat down the old man got right down to business.

The old man was well very old he wore a hat that covered his bald head. He had a long beard. Mostly white in color but in some spots there was a little gray. He wore a tan vest and a dress shirt under the vest. He looked to be wearing just normal jeans with some old boots nothing to fancy about the boots. Lina couldn't make much more of what he looked like other than he looked to be not very tall. He had a lean body that was partly hunched over while he was setting.

"Where you able to figure out the clues for finding the map?" The old guy asked pulling something out from his pocket the other tow doing the same. The old man smiled then looked over the pieces that leaded on the table. There was five pieces all together. The old man started to pick up the pieces one by one searching them.

"There must be some kind of order they are put in." Lina looked beside her when she heard a snore. It seemed Gourry had fallen asleep on her. Sighing she turned back to the little group. "Is this all there is to go on this isn't enough to make anything out of." The young man voice sounded angry.

"Wait you must be a little patient. Figuring clues like this will take sometime first we need to find a common ground they all share. Now lets take a look there is five pieces of clues. They all are drawing of something." He picked up the paper in front of him. "Like this one it is a drawing of an old bed."

Just then the young guy that was covered in hidden cloths stood. "I have had enough of this come on Kayla lets get going Mr. Ashes isn't as much of help as the others have said." Lina covered mouth in surprise it turned out the young lady was the same waiter girl that served them earlier that day. Lina thought for sure the young mans voice and figure of him she knew from somewhere.

"Please Kyle wait can't we talk about this how else are we suppose to get over our problems with out finding a way to the hidden temple. You know the only clue is lying into the temple. We don't have much time other wise you might not make it." Kayla turned her head not wanting to see Kyles piercing gaze. A few tears made there way down her pale cheeks.

Mr. Ashes stood up. "Well if you no longer need my help then i might as well find someone who will." He was to the door when Kyle called him back her said he was sorry that he was under a lot of stress. They only had a short amount of time before the curse could get worse. Mr. Ashes walked back over I will forgive you this time but should it happen again I will not tolerate it is this understood?" Kyle shook his head.

They all settle back at the table. Mr. Ashes told Kyle and Kayla to bring the papers straight in a line. They did as they were told. "Hmm. now where was I oh yes the old bed." He looked at the other drawings. After the old bed was a book of names, hot springs, a room covered in cob webs and the last one looked to be the most important it had a two story building on it with a faded out arrow pointing to the bottom part of the building. "It does seem that all these things must be in one place but where."

Kayla was just looking around when she spotted an old bed. Thinking maybe but not really she looked back at the others. The building they were in was a two story and they were in a basement that meant the bottom. What basement would be with out cobwebs. Only a Inn would keep a book of names. That's it the map was in the basement of the Inn what a place to hide it.

"Hey listen up I think I might have it." Kyle and Mr. Ashes looked at Kayla she got there attention. "If you really think about only and Inn would keep a book of names and on the two story building with the arrow we are in the only Inn that has a basement with lots of old beds and cobwebs. That's it we are in the very room the map is in now just where to look this place is pretty big."

Lina awoke Gourry quickly she had to act fast she didn't want them to find it first. With a shove he fell off the chair that woke him up. "Hey Lina what's going on is it time to eat..?" Lina hit him upside the head. "No Gourry it's not but I did find out where the map is and it is somewhere in this basement were in so start looking I'm sure they would've heard you fall off the chair so they will be looking for us.

It was to late Mr. Ashes found them in the broom closet. "Just who do you think you are spying on us like you did and how did you even know we where down here the only ones that could have know where my self and the other two." He got interrupted when Kayla called out.

Kayla ran from where she was looking. "Mr. Ashes and Kyle I kind of made a little change in the deal. The person you are looking at is the famous Lina Inverse. I figured that if we shared the clues we had for finding the temple she might come with us to look for the temple. I am the one who told her about the meeting tonight. I am glad to see that you were able to make it. No offence Mr. Ashes but I really didn't think you would be able to help us other than with the clues you had."

"Well if that is how you really feel then you are on your own and here I thought that you were smarted than Kyle is seems you are just as dumb." Having nothing more to say he walked out the door heading up the steps. "I think I made him mad oh well no matter I'm sure you heard everything Miss Inverse so would you help us look for the map that is somewhere is this room?"

If there was one thing that Lina hated was to be used as a pawn. "Kayla wasn't it" Kayla shook her head." Well Kayla I would like it if you would tell us what you had planned and I didn't like the fact that you lied to me but I would like to know the truth behind why you and Kyle are here. Also what use you have with the temple."

Kyle cut in before Kayla could say anything. "Miss Lina I wanted you to forgive me for lying to you earlier also, but you must understand this town is known for the hidden map so if word got around that someone knew or was close to finding the map to the temple we would have not had a chance of getting there."

Kayla took over from there. "Miss Lina I met Kyle a while back. I was serving at the town he trained in and we fell in love but once we let everyone know that we were soon to be wed after he won the tournament we came to find out there was another girl who had fallen in love with Kyle as well. She was just beginning to do sorcery she had placed a most difficult spell on him and it turned out to be a curse."

" The curse didn't seem to take affect at first but as time went on he came to find out the curse was aging Kyle. Then we did more research on curses like his but it seemed to be the only one around."

"Why didn't you just talk to the woman that put the curse on you?" Lina asked thinking maybe they didn't try all their choices yet. Kayla lead them back to the table they were using earlier. After setting down and getting adjusted she continued.

"Well you see we did try to go back there, but it turns out she had went completely mad she was unstable and tried to kill us. We had to choice but to kill her either she did or we did. If there was any other way we would have done it but she was just unable to think straight. Their at the end I felt bad for the girl she had lost her family just a few months before all this happened and so since then we haven't had any luck till we found out about the magic potion held in the temple."

"I bet that is one of the treasure that is in the temple was there anything more said about the treasure in there other than what I have heard?" Kayla bowed her head Lina knew she was going to say she didn't know since no one has been to the temple for ages. "Well enough of this I know enough for now you can tell me more after we find the map it is getting later the longer we just set around and talk."

Everyone was looking till Lina pushed aside a few books when one of the books fell from the shelf out of the book pages landed a folded up paper. Lina picked it up the paper looked very old. She opened it carefully taking her time her heart racing she had a feeling that this might be what they were looking for. When she got it opened indeed it had been what they were looking for it was the map that lead to the hidden temple.
