A human and a white hedgehog stood in a large room, talking.

The human spoke first. "You are a top-secret Bio-Engineered project called Genesis. After we found you in the cryogenics Laboratories eight years ago, we thought you were beyond our help and technology at the time, so we waited and now you're back. Could you help us?"

The white hedgehog lifted an eyebrow at the human, and then he turned his head away from the human, and walked around the room. A bit more of an uncomfortable pause was found.

About after half an hour, the white hedgehog stopped walking and turned only his head to face the human. "I'll help you get Grey Orin, after all, he was the one who did this to me, and can I see my file?"

"Of course you can. Lieutenant, show Matrix the files on project Genesis."

"Yes, Commander," said a lieutenant, who was waiting at the door. Matrix turned and left out the door.

Matrix was back in his room, lying on his bed, reading his file. All the pieces of paper were on the side table next to his bed, and on the front of the folder in red letters, it read: >Top-secret Project by F.I.R.E. military< Matrix turned the page, and he read…

Code name: `Matrix'

Real name: `Max Raven'

Race: Hedgehog

Fur color: Was a sandy brown, but was changed to white, red and black.

Sex: Male

Age: Project started when subject was five years old.

PROJECT Goals: To Rebio-Engineer a living being and to stop the ageing process in humans. This project has military backup, ultimate warrior.

Side affects: Ageless, powerful psychic abilities. By the time he is twenty-one years old, he will have completely stopped ageing.

Matrix looked up from reading the files, and in the back of his mind, he remembered how Grey turned him.

"So, I'm psychic, huh?" He said out loud to himself. He held out his right arm, and opened his hand.

The door to his room suddenly was sent flying into the wall next to him.

"Hmmmm, could use some work." Max laughed lightly. Max stood up, and walked out of the room.

He soon arrived at the training room, and he stood in the doorway, watching all the other agents there. Some were on the weights, and others climbing up a fake wall. Max headed over to the weights. Some of the other agents watched as this nine-year-old kid walked in, and started to set up some of the weights.

"Hey, kid, you're in the wrong place," said a red squirrel.

Max looked at him, and then back at the weights he had just set up. They were at the maximum weight, and Max grabbed the chain, pulled it, and all the weights moved easily. The red squirrel stepped back with shock.

"I see you've meet Max."

Most of the other agents turned to see Commander Kerry standing in the doorway of the training room.

"Nice to meet you, Max," said a voice from the crowd of people. Max turned to see a 33-year-old white bat. She had long brown hair and aqua green eyes. Max shook her hand. "My name is Rose."

"Nice to meet you, too, Rose." Max said to her.

"How long are you staying here?" Rose asked.

Max looked over at Kerry. "I don't know."

Four humans ran into the room, and in their hands, they had riffles. "Commander Kerry, Commander Kerry," one shouted as he ran.

Kerry turned to the other humans. "What is it?"

"F.I.R.E., THEY'VE FOUND THIS BASE!"

Kerry's face was full of shock and fear. "Rose, take Max and get out of here!" Kerry shouted at her. She nodded, grabbed the nine-year-old, and ran out.

The figure sat at the side of the bed, looking at person in it. "That was over eight years ago, and it has been all my fault. I promised…"

A white hedgehog lay on the ground of a building roof, watching for its company. The hedgehog slowly stood up. {Rose, you okay?}

{Could use a bit of help,} said her voice in his mind.

{Okay, coming.} He said.

He looked down from the side of the building, and jumped off. He used his a psychic abilities to float down to the ground, and then he ran to another building.

"ROSE, ROSE," he called as he ran.

The white hedgehog ran down a corridor, and all the walls were made of dull grey cement. He ran in only to see Rose being held by her neck, by a human.

"Who are you?" the white hedgehog shouted.

"You forgot me, Max?" asked the human. The man turned to look at the struggling bat. "Tell me, 03, do you care for her?"

Max looked right into her aqua green eyes. "Yes."

She closed her eyes, and a single tear fell down her white fur.

{I love you, Rose.} He told her.

{I do, too}

"Well, that's nice," the human said, throwing her aside and walking over to Max. "Matrix, I am your creator!"

"Grey!" Max growled in anger.

He ran at Grey, about to hit him, but something electrical shot through his whole body, and he fell to the ground. As he opened his eyes the painful light hit his eyes, and he was chained up to the wall. He looked around, and saw Rose tied up. She was in the same cell as him.

Max heard a voice over the speaker. "You're awake…good."

Max looked at Rose. She was unconscious, and she was bleeding from her head.

{Rose, I'll help you hold on!} Max said in his mind, and tears fell from his eyes. It was too late to help her. She was in a coma.

"WHY, GREY?" Max screamed, and as he did, the whole building started to come down on them, but Max used his abilities to protect them by creating a psychic shield.

After Max had forced himself out of the rubble of the building, he stood watching the sun setting.

"I promise, Rose, I'll get Grey, and make him pay!" Max called to the havens.

The figure bent down and kissed the white bat in the bed.

"I will keep that promise, Rose," whispered the figure. He stood up and turned to go.
