Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Adventures of the Future 4 ❯ Incredibly lovesick angsiety ( Chapter 1 )
Kurama did his best to look after his mother and his kids but it was hard taking care of two three-year-old kids and a forty-five-year-old woman with permanent amnesia, Kurama had to teach them to do different things and it was a real pain but his little sister, Cristie, as well as Shadow and Burlow were there to help.
One day, it was Burlow's turn to help(he does help all the time because he lives with Maria).
"I'm bored, Burlow."Maria whined.
"Do you wanna learn how to play a video game?"Burlow asked.
"Mmmm... Okay."
So, Burlow put in their favorite fighting game.
"What game is this?"Maria asked.
"It's called Battle 2000, Tails built it for us when we were kids. You always won against me."Burlow said.
"Really? I won a game against you?"
"Yeah, back when you still had your memory, you were the best player on South Island and you didn't even live on South Island."
Burlow didn't want to believe that Maria's amnesia was permanent because if it was, she may not love him the way she did before she lost her memory. Now, Maria only found him as a friend more than a husband so Burlow was always reminiscing about previous adventures they'd had together in the past to try and jog her memory but it was always in vain. To be honest, Burlow was starting to think Maria was falling in love with Kurama but that would be weird(remember, the only thing Maria can remember is Kurama and nothing more. My brother even thinks that Maria doesn't completely know that Kurama is her son).
Burlow taught her the controls and they began a game. Maria tried her hardest but lost, badly.
"I... I won."Burlow said.
"I don't like this game, it's boring."Maria replied.
"Do you want to go for a walk?"
"Okay, where to?"
"No place in particular."
Burlow took Maria outside and they walked around the beautiful areas nearby, Burlow remembered how Maria used to love playing that game. Ever since Maria got out of the hospital, nothing had been the same. He couldn't talk to her like an adult anymore, she was like a child, they no longer acted like a married couple, they no longer slept in the same room, and talking to Maria was never the same. Burlow longed to have just one night with Maria... the old Maria.... where they could goof off like a couple of crazy teenagers or just so much as be loved. The one thing Burlow missed most of all was the sweet taste of Maria's lips, he'd never kissed her since that day, never hugged her or shown any other sign of affection... just the simple calm tone of voice was all. She seemed so oblivious to his yearnings. 'Why' would always be his question. 'Why did you take my love away?' Burlow asked that every time he prayed, he missed his beloved wife so much... but... every time he begged for her memories to return, it never happened. Burlow didn't want Maria's memories to come back just for lustful longings but so he could talk to the one he loved, the way she used to be. It just... never was the same.
Maria walked a long time with Burlow. Burlow stopped and noticed a rose bush, red roses that had just bloomed... Maria's favorite. They reminded Burlow of the day they had confessed their love for each other when they were thirteen. Oh God, he wished she could remember that. Burlow plucked the deepest red rose he could find on the bush, removed the thorns and went over to Maria whom was staring at the lake below the cliff she was sitting on.
"Maria."Burlow called.
"Yes, Burlow?"Maria asked.
"I found this rose, I thought you might like it."
Maria took the rose, its beauty seemed to mesmerize her. Burlow took the rose and put it in her hair(well, spines).
"Thank you, Burlow. It's beautiful."Maria put her arms around Burlow's neck and kissed him on the lips.
Burlow was kinda surprised, he blushed a little. Maria rested her head on Burlow's chest, she smelled his fur. It smelled sweet, like the rose in her hair.
R&R and I'll get started on the next chapter.
