The evening came quickly, Burlow hoped that Maria WAS getting some memory back. Why else would she kiss him?

"Let's go home, Maria. It's getting late."Burlow said.

"Okay, I'm getting tired anyway."Maria replied.

Burlow scooped her up in his arms and walked home.

"Burlow, you don't need to carry me. I can walk by myself."Maria said.

"I know, I'm doing it because I want to."Burlow replied.

They finally made it home, Maria had fallen asleep in Burlow's arms. Burlow sat down on the couch and gazed at Maria's sleeping form, he started thinking. His shoulder angel and devil appeared(you know what that means, folks. Burlow's thinking naughty).

"Burlow, I've been watching you. I've seen those lustful fantasies in your head, don't do that to her. She wouldn't even know what you were doing."SA said.

"Ah, don't listen to him! Burlow, ol' buddy. Do what you want with her, you know you can't resist. Just look at her, she's a target just begging for it. You want it so bad, I can sense it. Just do it."SD said.

"No, Burlow! It's not right! She's as helpless as a child, don't do it. What if something happens?!"

"Could you guys just leave me alone?"Burlow asked.

"Sure."

Burlow was fixated on Maria's face. Sure, he wanted to do it but he couldn't. Maria was just too helpless, it wasn't right. But then again, he wanted it so badly. Maybe just once...

Maria snuggled close to Burlow with a trusting smile on her face. 'No, I can't do it.'Burlow thought.

Burlow set Maria down and he went to sleep right next to her, Maria had truly forgotten everything. If she still had her memory but didn't know Burlow, she'd be as giddy as Knux when he tells a lie.

"You can trust me, Maria."Burlow whispered in Maria's ear, quickly licking the tip of her ear.

Maria held tight to Burlow, she was having some sort of nightmare.

In the nightmare...

Maria found herself witnessing somebody's death. A white hedgehog, the same color as Kurama, was dying. She was bleeding badly, Maria remembered the hedgehog from somewhere. Suddenly, she knew what happened. There by the hedgehog was a tiny black and red hoglet, covered in blood...

Burlow held onto Maria. Suddenly, Maria jerked awake, crying and sobbing.

"No... no... NO!!! IT'S MY FAULT!!!"Maria screamed.

"What's your fault?"Burlow asked.

"She... she died because of me, I killed her!"

"Who?"

Maria said nothing and held tight to Burlow, Maria cried hard and kept moaning the word, "mother".

"It's my fault. It's all my fault!"Maria cried.

"What did you do?"Burlow asked. "Maria, I'm ganna go get Shadow and Kurama."

"No! Please, don't leave me here. They'll come after me!"Maria begged.

"I need to get Shadow and Kurama, they'll help you."

"NO!!! Stay with me, don't leave me alone!"

Shadow heard Maria crying and went to her, Kurama came too.

"Burlow, what did you do?!"Shadow yelled.

"I didn't do anything. She keeps saying she killed someone."Burlow replied.

Shadow picked up Maria and cradled her in his arms.

"Maria, what's wrong?"Shadow asked.

"I killed her, it's my fault!"Maria replied.

"Maria, you didn't kill anybody."

"Don't let them take me, daddy! Please, keep me safe!"

"I will, Maria. Nobody's ganna hurt you."

"Don't leave me alone! They'll kill me!"

"Sh... It's okay, we won't let you get hurt."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill her."

"It's okay..."

Maria cried herself to sleep.

"Grandfather, she called you daddy."Kurama said.

"Yeah, what about it?"Shadow asked.

"She's never done that since she came back from the hospital."

"... She's getting her memory back."

"Do you think we should leave her alone?"

"I don't know. Why would Maria think she killed someone?"

"Grandma... She thinks she killed grandma."

"Let's keep an eye on her just in case."
