Shadow sighed lazily, waking from a slumber under a nice, thick shaded tree. He was bored; that “damned blue hedgehog” was away doing god knows what, and everyone else was working on Amy's surprise. Eggman hadn't done anything in a while, and he wasn't interested in finding out any new information. There was literally nothing to do.
~Ugh; what a mediocre day. Humph, if only I were as easily amused as all those other pathetic idiots, wasting their time on Amy and that hedgehog's supposed “love”…~ He closed his eyes slowly, burning with irritation. It was stupid, so stupid. Before he could think any more thoughts of irritation, he felt a tap on his shoulder from the front. He opened one eye half way, ready to bite off the head of whomever had disturbed him. When his vision cleared, he saw before himself a cute pink hedgehog, smiling brightly. He stared at her for a moment then asked, “What do you want? And how the hell did you find me?” She stood up straight, then placed her hands on her hips. “Well, on the way to the store one day before, I had seen you here. So I figured I'd check if you were taking a snooze!” She giggled a bit, and Shadow rolled his eyes. “So, get to the point. What the hell do you want?” he crossed his arms, closing his eyes again.
“I wanted to know if you wanna come to Sonic's surprise tonight; its gonna be really cool! That is, if you're not busy…” Amy hoped that he would show up. The more people the better. After a brief pause and a silent debate, Shadow replied with the few words, “Whatever. If I'm not busy at the time.” Amy's smile widened. “Thanks so much Shadow! 3455 E. Violet St, don't forget!” And with that, Amy was off.
“Pfft; so giddy over a schoolgirl crush.” Shadow made himself comfortable and continued his lazy slumber.
~~~~~Meanwhile, Somewhere on a Faraway Beach~~~~
Tails scanned the ground carefully, looking left and right for his blue friend. He zoomed through the sky in the Tornado 2. Now that the planning had been done, all that was left was letting Sonic know about the event.
“Sigh, where are you Sonic? I've been looking for at least an hour…” Tails glanced at his watch, correcting in his mind that he'd been looking for at least two hours. He was just about to turn his plane around when he noticed a tiny blue speck on the coast of the island he soared over. “Hey, could it be…” Tail's face lit up.
Without any hesitation he landed the T2 a couple meters from a confirmed Sonic. He was sitting on the pearly sand staring straight forward, un phased by the loud plane's engine. Tails didn't notice this at first, and so then ran to his friend giddily. “Sonic; I've been looking everywhere for you!! I have some information to give you!!” The hedgehog stayed silent. He didn't even look at Tails, though he was aware of his presence.
“Um, Sonic…?” Tails sat down next to him, his eyes flooded with worry. Sonic sighed and turned his head to face the other way. He couldn't look at Tails. Not in this state. Tails leaned over to Sonic, trying to look at his face.
“Hey, come on Sonic-”
“Not now Tails. Just leave me alone.”
“But Sonic; what's wrong?”
“Aren't you busy anyways? You seemed pretty wrapped up the last time I saw you.”
Tails shook his head. “It wasn't like that; is that what's bothering you?”
Sonic laid back on the sand, his eyes closed. “No way. And who says I'm bothered?”
Tails' eyes rolled, then held a worried look. He stared straight up at the sky then replied, “Sonic, we've known each other for years. I think its easy enough for me to tell when something's wrong.” Sonic now dared opening his eyes. He glanced over at Tails with angry eyes that quickly softened. “I guess you're right, buddy. But I don't know… it's a problem that I caused myself and talking about it isn't exactly, well, unembarressing.” Tails looked at him expressionlessly. Sonic knew that he wanted to hear more, but couldn't bring himself to open up to the cute little Fox. He shook his head then said, “look its nothing. Why were you looking for me anyway? What's going on?”
Tails rummaged through his pocket then pulled out a small piece of paper. He handed it over to Sonic, explaining “Come here at about 7:00PM. There's something waiting for you there.” On the paper was written the address to Amy's surprise party. Of course, Sonic didn't know that this was the reason. Sonic stared at the note curiously. “what exactly is waiting for me?” Tails smiled brightly. “A `Thank You' party along with a little surprise gift.” He stood up and dusted his legs off. “Make sure to be there Sonic!”
Sonic watched as his little friend hopped into the Tornado 2 and rev up the propeller. The blue hedgehog nodded, and with that Tails soared off into the sky.
“A party, huh…”
~~~~~~Rouge's House~~~~~~~
Meanwhile at Rouge's house, Cream, Amy and Rouge were getting ready for the big night. They had each already spent hours trying to achieve their perfect looks; Amy had curled her quills, Rouge had wrapped her hair into an elegant bun leaving a log of hair hanging over her left eye sultrily, and cream had put cute little bows on each of her ears. Although fairly simple, all their choices Had taken forever. They now all sat in a hot bath, chatting as they soothed themselves in the boiling, lilac heat. The aromas were wonderful, and each of the girls couldn't wait for the boys to see their looks.
Amy sighed happily, sinking deeper into the warm bubbly paradise. “Ah, this is so nice; I'll be completely relaxed for tonight! Thanks for having us over Rouge.” The silken-furred bat chuckled a bit. “No problem. After all, you want to be nice and clean for Sonic tonight.” The pink hedgehog's cheeks beamed with a bright red blush. “W-What do you mean by that? I-I won't… well I don't think…” Rouge now burst with laughter. “Ha ha! I don't see why I never liked you before, Hun. You're quite entertaining.” Amy was now irritated as Rouge continued to laugh; Cream, on the other hand, didn't understand what had been implied and why Amy was so flustered.
Cream interrupted the conversation with her most polite and sweet voice. “Um, can I ask you girls something? I've been kind of wondering, um, well…” Cream stopped. Amy and Rouge now gave her their attention, waiting for her to continue.
“What is it, kiddo? What's on your mind? Rouge waded closer to the little Rabbit, and Amy did the same. Cream continued. “Well, um, I was wondering, how do you know if you have a crush on someone? How does it feel exactly?” Amy and Rouge were quiet for a moment, then both lit up with joy.
“Oh my gosh Cream, you have a crush!? How cute!!”
“Its that little fox, isn't it?! How long have you liked him, Cream??”
“Well, um-”
“You should have told me; we could've come up with a plan for you two as well!”
“I'm pretty sure he probably feels the same way for you~!!”
“I don't know if-”
“We could let you let him know tonight!”
“I bet he'll say yes instantly~~”
“Heeeeeeeeeeyyy!!!!”
Cream splashed her hands into the water, causing it to splash. Her cheeks were now a dark shade of red, and she was extremely embarrassed, as well as upset that the girls wouldn't listen. They were quiet now, though, realizing their error. When Cream knew that they would keep quiet, she decided to speak.
Looking away from the girls in more embarrassment, Cream said, “I don't know If it's a crush… I don't even know if he feels the same or if I even feel a crush at all… I've never had one before. . .”
Amy and Rouge found this adorable, but held back their many comments. They didn't want Cream to get upset enough to not talk to them. Amy thought hard for a brief moment. She knew most definitely that Cream liked Tails; she'd always suspected it. When she had put her thoughts together, she replied to Cream, “We'll see what we can do, okay? And don't worry; doubting your feelings with only make things worse, too. Congratulations Cream!”
The young rabbit giggled lightly, and the other two girls smiled.
~~
After they finished their soothing baths, the girls now slipped into their outfits. Cream's cute, light pink dress followed her as she twirled gracefully. It was a comfortable and cute dress. Underneath the pink skirt of it were white frills, causing it to puff out slightly. It was absolutely adorable, and the big bows on her ears were the perfect finishing touch.
Rouge's dress was form-fitting and sexy. A deep purple and silky material, it traveled from the back of her neck down her bust, tightly wrapping around her womanly curves. The dress soared over her hips and parted at the front of her thighs, feathering down to the ground. Matching heels and silver jewelry accented the dress. Rouge looked very elegant.
All the girls felt like royalty, especially Amy. Her dress was just as magnificent as the first time she'd laid eyes on it. Strapless, the dress was tight around Amy's waist and flowed freely at her hips. The matching sash glinted along with the dress's crystal pattern. Pearly while gloves that crawled up Amy's arms made her look like the perfect princess, along with a crystal and lace chocker. Boots with crystal patterns as well and 4 inch heels adorned her feet, and the final touch was a beautiful tiara upon her head. Rouge and Cream watched Amy in awe.
“I must say, you know how to pick a good dress,” Rouge complimented, touching the light fabric delicately. Amy smiled shyly. She believed she looked nice, but also felt a slight modesty. Cream nodded her head to Rouge's comment. “Yeah Amy; you look like a queen fit for Sonic!” She smiled gingerly, proud of her best friend.
Amy now felt extremely confident. She grabbed a small handbag along with a ring of keys. “Alright guys; its time to get what belongs to me.”
