Now begins the 2nd series trilogy!!

Its gonna start with "Broad Horizons" and end with three other series!!

Broad Horizons starts the four-series trilogy!!

This fic begins immediately after Invasion!!

Chapter 1

Sonic and Shadow walked out of the hospital, Tails had to stay because of his condition.

"Man...its gonna be very difficult to move on without my son..." Sonic said glumly, a tear falling from his face.

"He was a brave lad, Sonic, you should be proud that you raised such a courageous hedgehog. The dragon that threatened the world is slain and we can now start to rebuild out lives." Shadow said, doing his best to comfort his friend, Sonic.

"I know, Shadow, but still...he was my son!" Sonic lashed back out at Shadow.

"I'm sorry too, Sonic, but there was nothing we could do to stop it! It was his destiny, and nothing can alter ones destiny once its been revealed to him!"M Shadow said, trying to calm Sonic down.

"I just don't know how I'm gonna live without him..." Sonic said sadly.

"I don't know, either, but I know that we must move on so that the clouds of darkness and anger don't overwhelm us! We must rebuild our lives, as tough as it may be, back to the way they were." Shadow said to Sonic.

"Maybe you're right, Shadow...I just hope I'll manage to go on living my life everyday as a normal, happy hedgehog..." Sonic said, his thoughts running rampant as he was indecisive about what he was going to do.

"We know that he's in a better place, and..." Shadow said.

"And?" Sonic asked, stopping and looking at Shadow intently.

"...and he's with Tikal." Shadow said.

This seemed to get Sonic's mood a little brighter, knowing that his son was with the one he loved so much.

"He's a lucky son you have, Sonic, I wish I had a son of my own that was like yours." Shadow said truthfully.

"Thank you, Shadow, that means a lot to me." Sonic said to Shadow, slowly getting a smile on his face.

As Sonic and Shadow continued walking on towards a city to live in, two pairs of eyes were watching their moves intently.

"Hmmm...it seems as though that the young one is no longer there!" Lark said.

Lark was a green echidna with crimson eyes and a mean streak that would have made Bill look slightly weak. H also had a robotic leg on the right half of his body.

"We move on with the plan then?" Frieta asked.

Frieta was a purple hedgehog with a white T-shirt and black pants (no, she aint Jessie of Team Rocket!), she had green eyes and could hold her own in a fight.

"Yes, we must move forward!" Lark replied.

<Meanwhile, thirty miles from any city.>

"I really wish I could just run there, but my legs are so tired, Shadow..." Sonic said as he sat on a rock.

"Mine too, Sonic." Shadow replied.

Sonic pondered in thought as he stared at Shadow's face, the tinit of his eyes cast a different glow frombefore: no longer the cruel eyes of an evil thing, but a caring, compassionate freind who cared for others.

"Why can't I be more like Shadow? Sonic asked to himself. "He's moved on with his life, but I'm still moaning over my loss...He's right! I gotta move on with my life and push all hindrrences aside!" Sonic said to himself.
