Chapter 21

<Meanwhile, about 40 miles high in the sky>

Blade was hovering in the night sky, his claws gleeming in the moonlight as it looked around for something to destroy.

'Scanning area........................location identified as Motople City......damage estimated to be from massive storms......human life-forms at a minimal......devastation consistant with a tornado, F5 on scale.........traces indicate that storm hit approxamitely four weeks prior to my arrival............no identifiable traces of light within fifty miles of current position......switching to heat vision.' Blade's internal computer bleeped as it continued to hover high in the air.

Blade scanned the area, trying to find any trace of life whatsoever.

'Continuing search of Motople region...............<bleeping noises>......scanners indicate heat signature approxamitely fifty miles from current location at .045388G quadrant...............heat signature consistant with bio-form pattern records......researching data on signature...................................................<bleeping noises>......heat signature identified as belonging to Sonic the Hedgehog, resident of Mobius......<High-pitched bleeps>...'

"Heheheh...finally...revenge is mine, Sonic the Hedgehog!!" Blade said evily as he slowly hovered closer to the ground. "Computer, scan the area for any other heat traces...I don't want his friends trying to stop me!" Blade said as his feet touched the ground.

'Scanning area............<bleeping noises>......no other heat signatures consistant with major threats......' the computer bleeped.

"Excellent...computer, standby for furthur instructions..." Blade said as his computer went on standby.

Blade walked over the piles upon piles of debris still left from the storm, laughing slightly as he saw the destruction around him.

"Ahhh...so good to see ruin!!" Blade said to himself as he approached a building that had lights on. "Computer, scan the building and give me a reading on heat signatures..." Blade said as the computer processed data.

'Scanning.................................<bleeping noises>......32 heat signatures found......'

"Good, now, out of those heat traces, scan those who are on record..." Blade said to the computer.

'Processing..................................................... ....<bleeping noises>......seven of these heat traces are on record......'

"Now, run ID checks on these traces and bring up the data for me to see..." Blade said to the computer, laughing slightly.

'Processing data........................<Bleeping noises>......trace #1 belongs to Sonic the Hedgehog, resident of Mobius........................<bleeping noises>......trace #2 belongs to Amy Rose, resident of Mobius...........................<bleeping noises>......trace #3 belongs to Sonie the Hedgehog, 2nd son of Sonic the Hedgehog...........................<bleeping noises>......trace #4 belongs to Shadow the Hedgehog, considered the "Ultamite Life-form" by Dr. Gerald Robotnick..............................<bleeping noises>......trace #5 belongs to Susa the Hedgehog, resident of Eagle-Eye City, is the daughter of Michael the Hedgehog..............................<bleeping noises>......trace #6 belongs to Gina the Hedgehog, resident of Motople City..............................<bleeping noises>......trace #7 belongs to Michael the Hedgehog, resident of Eagle-Eye City......' the computer bleeped.

"! WHAT?! How can-?!" Blade was sweating bullets when he heard that Michael was alive. "How can that fool be alive?! He's supposed to be dead!!" Blade said to himself.

Blade was hesitant to approach the hospital any closer then he was, however, he managed to gather some courage and prepared to destroy someone or something.

"He may be alive again, but I, Blade, the modified version of Bill, shall kill him again!!" Blade said evily as he got to the doors of the hospital.

When Blade went to open the doors, they wouldn't open because they were locked for the night.

"Looks like I'll just have to improvise then!" Blade said as he crashed through the glass doors.

"Hey! You can't be here! This is a restricted-"

The guard never got a chance to finish the statement, for Blade had grabbed the guard by the neck and thrust a jagged spike through the coronary artery, killing him instantly.

"Fool...you have just delayed the inevitable for your friends..." Blade said to himself as he flung the dead guard to the floor, admiring the blood stains on his body. "Perfect...heheheheh...this is only the beginning of the end for Sonic and his buddies!" Blade shouted out as, one by one, he took out the ground-level guards, killing them all in the same fashion.

<Meanwhile, in the recovery room>

"Sonic, do you think that Gina's gonna recover fast?" Shadow asked a nervous Sonic, getting no response.

"Sorry, Shadow, I'm worried." Sonic siad silently.

"About what?" Shadow asked.

"I got this strange feeling in me that something isn't right, I don't know why, in the hospital..." Sonic said in response as he continued to chat with Shadow.

"Security! All personel and staff are to be on the look-out for a yellow hedgehog. It's already taken out numerous guards and is on the move inside the building! Don't let him go any further!!" The intercom barked out.

Now, under these conditions, the place would've been crawling with security cameras and lock-down statis on the doors, but Blade had put a halt to that by sabotoging the cameras, therefore, noone could find him.

"This'll hold them off for awhile...heheheheh...long enough for me to get that Sonic out of the way for good!" Blade said evily as he continued his path of destruction inside the building.

"Hey! Did you just hear that!? There's a yellow hedgehog attacking the place!" Shadow shouted to Sonic, who was gathering the others in the room.

"Listen! I don't know who or what this thing is, but we cannot allow it to get to Gina, Flash or Sonie! They are still very much hurt and we cannot afford any other injuries to them!" Sonic said, getting a nod from Michael and Shadow.

"All this worthless trash...heheheheh, it makes little difference what they may try! They won't stop me from carrying out my revenge on that damn Sonic the Hedgehog!" Blade said to himself as he turned off his heat vision.

As Blade continued to move upwards he encountered various faces, all who simply became another victim of his assault.

"You dare try and stop me?! You will die like everyone else!!" Blade yelled at a helpless echidna he had by the neck and drilled a spike into his throat, blood gushing through the wound as the echidna drowned in his own blood.

Blade merely licked the blood of his arm, savouring the taste of death to another victim.

"This accursed hole is going to burn to the ground when I'm finished with it..." Blade said out loud as he reached the eighth floor: the floor that Michael and the others were on.

"Whatever is attacking us is on this floor! Shadow said as he prepared to fight whoever it was that dared enter the hospital to cause trouble.

Suddenly, the door was kicked down by Blade, who hovered into the room with an evil smile on his face that could only be matched with a person with revenge on the mind.

"Finally...after three years...revenge!!" Blade said as he dashed at Sonic but missed and hit a wall face-first.

"Whoa, buddy! I don't know what you're talking about, who the hell are you?!" Sonic yelled at Blade, completely unaware that it was really Bill.

"Don't you recognize my voice, Sonic?" Blade said evily.

"What are you talking about?!" Michael stepped in, protecting his father from Bill, who was still unknown by the others.

"Fine, you pricks leave me no choice but to reveal my true self..." Blade said as he threw his metallic armor off, revealing his torn, bloodied self.

"Oh my god!!!" Michael shouted in fear as he instantly recognized it was Bill.

"It-it-!! It can't be!! Yo're supposed to be dead!!" Shadow said in fear, stepping infront of Gina and Flash, hopign to protect them.

"Thats right you bastards...its me!!! I'm back, and I'm not the watered down Bill you fought before!! Let me show you what I will do to you, Sonic!" Blade said as he grabbed Sonic by the neck faster then even Michael could react.

"Put him down, now!! Don't do something that you are going to regret sdoon afterwards!!!!" Michael shouted in a rage, ready to kill Blade if he even tried to hurt his father.

"Fine...here ya go!!" Blade said evily as he drilled Sonic's left foot with the spike, getting a kick to the face for doing so by Michael.

"YOU BASTARD!!!" Michael shouted in anger as he delivered hit after hit on Blade, each blow doing more and more damage to him.

Finally, Michael charged up into his super-form, short-circuiting all the lights in the hospital.

"You're gonna pay you fucking asshole!!" Michael roared as he blasted Bill away with a blue beam of energy.

"If you think this is it, you are mistaken!!!!!!!! I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!" Blade yelled as he dissapered in the sky.

"Dad! Are you ok?!" Michael turned back into his normal form, the lights suddenly coming back on.

"Yeah...<grunts>...that bastard drilled a non-important area of my foot...its not something I need to run with...I'll be fine...thank you, Michael!" Sonic said as he slowly got up from the ground.
