Chapter 27

<Back in Motople>

"Lark, we need to do something! If we don't, Blade isn't just going to kill the othbers, he's going to want to kill us too!" Frieta said desperately.

"I doubt it, Frieta! He may look intimidating, but I don't believe he has the balls to kill me or you! Besides, he hasn't gotten a true taste of my power..." Lark said confidently to Frieta.

"He could've creamed you with both hands behind his back!!" Frieta said to a stubborn Lark who was not listening to her.

"I don't have time for this, Frieta! If you want to act like a coward, then do what cowards do best: curl up in a ball and shrivel up!!" Lark said, pounding his fists into the ground.

<Meanwhile, many miles from Motople>

"Where are you at?!" Michael shouted in the air, looking frantically for Blade but coming up empty-handed.

"Over here you prick!!" Blade shouted back, revealing himself suddenly to Michael.

"You are a dead hedgehog when I'm through with you!!!" Michael shouted, charging at Blade as fast as he could go.

"Pathetic..." Blade said to himself as he easily dodged the charge from Michael and delievred a kick to the gut to a shocked Michael.

"Oh...ohohoh-hahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...!!" Michael said, his breath short and infrequent from the force of the kick.

"You have no idea who you are messing with, biy...you just have no idea!" Blade said angerly, holding Michael in the air by his neck in a chokehold.

Michael responded by punching Blade in the mouth, knocking a tooth out of his mouth, making Blade more pissed then ever.

"You will regret that boy!!" Blade said through clinched teeth, tightening his grip on Michael's throat dangerously close to killing him.

Michael struggled to breath as the force that Blade was appliing to him was extreme. Michael struggled to pry Blade's hands off as he felt his strength slowly being sapped from his body.

"You...................b........b........bas...........tard..... ........." Michael managed to choke out as his hands suddenly fell limp and his head hung low.

"Farewell...Michael the hedgehog!!" Blade said evily as he had Michael where he wanted.

<Explosion>

"?!"

"Get your filthy hands off off Michael you bitch!!"

"Huh? Who dares attempt to stop me?!" Blade shouted to the pillar of smoke which had resulted from the explosion.

"ME!!!"

Blade suddenly felt a huge force hit him in the gut, causing him to let Michael go, clutching his gut in severe pain as he was barely able to discern the form of his assaulter.

"T-T-Tails?!!!" Blade shouted in extreme surprise, not expecting to see Tails standing infront of him or to have the young fox hit him with such a powerful kick.

Tails stared a hole in Blade's soul, running towards a motionless Michael on the ground.

"Not so fast, fox boy!!" Blade shouted as he suddenly got up and went to take a swing at Tails.

However, much to Blade's shock, Tails moved out of the way without breaking stride or slowing down, he quickly grabbed Michael and sped off towards the west.

"Come back here you prick!!!" Blade shouted in rage, running after Tails.

<At a nearby make-shift hospital at Motople>

"Are you going to be able to handle all the patients, doc?" Sonic asked nervously.

"Well, it isn't going to be easy, but, with a little effort, I feel the team of doctors and nurses that rermain will be able to handle all the patients!" one of the doctors replied to Sonic, allieviating his fears somewhat.

"Thats good to know..." Sonic replied, breathing a sigh of relief as he was unaware of his son's condition.

<Meanwhile, west of the battlefield>

"C'mon, Mike! Wake up!!" Tails desperately said to an unconcious Michael.

"Damnt...what can I do!? Blade is close behind me, I don't know where the others are, and I have no idea where I am..." Tails mentally screamed to himself as Blade could be seen in the distance.

"Hang on, Mike! I'm gonna try and fly you to a safer location!!" Tails said nervously, carefully picking Michael up by the shoulders and lifting him over his own.

"Time to suffer!!!" Blade screamed, not far from Tails' location.

"Here we go!!" Tails shouted as he used all the strength he could muster into lifting himself and Michael into the air, using his tails as a propeller for extra support.

After some slow accensions, Tails finally managed to go at a pace he could handle with Michael on his shoulders as he flew as fasr from Blade as he could.

"Come back here you bastard!!!" Blade shouted, running after Tails.

"What is it gonna take for me to lose this asshole?!" Tails mentally shouted to himself as he felt his muscles get less and less able to support Michael's weight. "Oh, hell no!! Don't you dare quit on me now!!" Tails said to himself, getting nothing but weaker muscles and tired bones as he slowly started losing altitude.

"I have you know!" Blade said triumphantly, completely oblivious to a certain red echidna behind him.

"No, I have YOU!!!" Knuckles said behind Blade's back, landing a vicious punch to Blade's lower back, stopping Blade in his tracks and on the ground in severe pain.

"Oh...god...w-w-w-w..what...happened?!?!" Blade shouted behind him, his back stiff from the blow delievred by Knuckles.

"I'm back!!!!!" Knuckles said with a bit of laughter as he grabbed Tails and Michael and flew off towards Motople.

"This...isn't-o-o-o...over you...p-prick!!!!!!" Blade said through staggered breathes.
