Chapter 28

"Sonic!!!"

"Huh? Tails?! You're ok!!" Sonic said, very thrilled to see his sidekick out of the hospital.

"Sonic, your son is hurt! Knuckles managed to stop Blade's assaults, but he's unconcious at this moment! I don't know if he's alive or not!!" Tails said through tears, having to get Susan to hold him for leverage because of the stress.

"Michael!!!" Sonic shouted as he saw Knuckles carrying his son's limp form over his shoulder.

"He's out like a light, but I think he's gonna make a full recovery! He just needs time to recover." Knuckles said to a stressed-out Sonic and Tails.

"Well, we need to make absolutely certain that Blade doesn't hurt Michael while he's resting!" Shadow shouted, getting a nod in response from the others.

"What can we do thouugh, Blade is so much more powerful tha-"

"Don't worry, Sonic! I'm much stronger then what I was before, and Tails is too!! Besdies, we got Sonie, Shadow, you, Sonic, Tails, and me!!" Knuckles said to a nervous Sonic.

"Are you sure about that? 'Cause I don't want to have your word slip!! You hear me!?" Sonic said seriously to Knuckles face.

"I promise...now, if you'd be so kind as to get your nose off my face I can do more to help your son!" Knuckles said rudely, making Sonic grin widely.

"He hasn't changed a bit..." Sonic said to himself as Knuckles went over and placed his hand over Michael's face.

"He's gonna do fine, I'll guard him until he wakes up, then he's on his own..." Knuckles said quietly.

"Alright...I just hope..."

"AHHH!! ITS BLADE!!!!" Susan screamed, Amy ran over and grabbed Susan, trying to get her out of Blade's path.

"Come and get some asshole!!!" Sonic said confidently, forming a wall between him and his son.

Shadow, Knuckles, Sonie, Sonic, and Tails had formed a 'barrier' about 50 feet from Michael's position, trying to guard him as best they could.

"Think you can stop me?! THINK AGAIN YOU PRICKS!!!!!!!" Blade shouted as he ran full speed towards the 'wall'.

"I don't think so..." Sonie said to himself as he broke off and landed a vicious kick to Blade's face, knocking Blade off his feet for a few seconds. "Ha! Eat that you bastard!!" Sonie triumphantly shouted, only to get punched in the jaw in response.

"Prick...you will pay for-oopmh!!" Blade muttered as he suddenly got a fist to his stomach courtousy of Knuckles.

"I don't think you're gonna be doing any paying back today, you sadistic son-of-a-bitch!!" Knuckles said, spitting in Blade's face as an added insult.

Suddenly, Knuckles was knocked down not by Blade, but by Lark. His intrusion shocked everyone, including Blade to say that least.

"What are YOU doing here?!" Shadow yelled, getting Lark's attention immediately.

"I'm not here to fight with Blade...I'm here for YOU!!!" Lark said in a rage as he tackled Shadow to the ground. Sonie, who had gotten back onto his feet, pulled Lark off of Shadow, only to get a swipe from Lark's fists into his own face.

"Shit...that hurt!!!" Sonie said, grabbing his face as blood started flowing from the opened wound.

Lark went back to Shadow and got kicked in the face for his troubles by Knuckles. Lark rebounded and, with the help of Blade, knocked Knuckles on his ass with a punch to the face.

"You asshole!!"

Lark turned around to see Gina advancing towards him with a mallet in her hand, Amy was right behind ehr with her hammer.

"So, the fiesty females want a piece of this hot stud-monkey?!" Lark said with some sarcasm in his voice, laughing as he usually did...but he wasn't laughing when he got hit. Lark was bug-eyed when Amy and Gina connected with their weapons, which conveinently hit Lark in the grapefruits.

"Take that you bug-eyed bitch-ass!!" Gina said, getting silence from Amy as she stared at hber in confusion.

"That a new word in your vocabulary or something?" Amy asked, getting a confused glance in response.

"Gina, Amy, watch out!!" Sonic yelled out as a warning from the impending threat approaching them.

"How dare you strike my brother!!" Frieta shouted as she dove into Gina, slapping her in the face for Gina's attack on Lark. "How does THAT feel, bitch?!" Frieta shouted angerly at the white hedgehog she was attacking.

"Get..off me you dumb...pain in the ass!!!" Gina shouted as she launched Frieta off of her with her feet, getting back on her feet in seconds flat, but got knocked back down from Frieta.

"This isn't going to end until I say so!!" Frieta said through clinched fists, attempting to wallop Gina into submission. Right before she could connect, though, Shadow pulled her off and helped Gina to her feet.

"You ok, Gina?" Shadow asked, getting a 'yes' in response.

"Shadow, watch out behind you!!!" Gina yelled.

Her warning came a little late, however, as Lark was back on his feet and landing punches to Shadow's face, each blow caused more and more damage to Shadow.

"STOP THAT!!! STOP HITTING HIM!!!!" Gina shouted through tears as Lark continued to pummel Shadow with vicious whacks from his spiked fists.

"Shadow!!"

Tails grabbed Lark and headbutted him, causing both of them to stumble a bit, but Tails got the upperhand when he connected with an uppercut to Lark's jaw.

"Ha!! Take that you reject!!" Tails shouted in triumph as Blade was approaching him from behind.

"Tails, behind you!!" Sonic yelled as he rammed into Blade just before he could strike Tails. Sonic landed three hard kicks to Blade's face, temporarily knocking him out.

"Now, get the hell otu of here!!" Knuckles yelled as he picked up Lark, Frieta and Blade one at a time and flung them far away.

"This isn't over yet you priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Blade shouted as his voice echoed in the horizon.

"Damn...that was pretty rough..." Knuckles said through staggered breatehs as they had succeeded in protecting Michael from the attackers for the time being.
