Chapter 29

Amy and Susan were watching Michael's ever-improving condition as the days went on.

"You think you'll manage to run again soon?" Susan asked.

"Oh yeah! I'm feelin' like a bolt of lightning!!!" Michael said, jumping out of his makeshift bed outside the remains of the hospital.

Needless to say, this surprised everyone, particularly Sonic, and gazes were cast at the rejuvinated orange hedgehog.

"What!? I'm back, aren't I?!" Michael asked, a little annoyed by all the blank faces

"Well, we didn't know you would be back so soon, I mean, Blade almost killed you!!" Sonie stated.

"Oh yeah...that bastard is gonna pay for that!!" Michael said, revenge now on his mind.

"Well, it isn't going to be easy, Michael, Blade is much, much stronger then he was before, and he's also got those two goons with him as well!" Sonic said.

"I have a feeling that those three aren't in this together..." Michael said to himself.

Yet, if Michael truly only knew what horrors were going on between the three of them, he would realize just how deadly Blade is.

<Meanwhile, about 100 miles away>

Blade had just pulled his claws out of Lark's chest, his heart in Blade's left hand as he saddistically laughed in the air, squeezing Lark's heart as the blood flowed down his body.

Frieta was wide-eyed and a look of horror and fright were in her eyes as Blade was slowly advancing towards her.

"No...please! STOP IT!!!!" Frieta screamed as Blade grabbed her by the neck and was about to drill a spike through her lungs.

"Now, you join your friend Lark!!!" Blade said evily as he went to drill her throat.

Frieta closed her eyes, waiting to feel the spike in her, but felt nothing at all. Infact, she was not being held by the throat any longer. She felt a strong breeze over her as she slowly opened her eyes to find that a black hedgehog had kept Blade from killing her.

"Did...he just....save me???" Frieta spoke to herslef, seeing this mystery hero as an angel in disguise.

After about two minutes of running, the figure slowly put Frieta on the ground and looked her in the eyes.

Frieta, who had a very keen sense of smell, detected a scent that she recognized in her childhood.

"You remind me of......of a black hedgehog when I was just a little girl hedgehog...who are you, anyway?" Frieta asked, unaware of who it really was.

"Don't you recognize my scent? It should bring back memories of a promise I made to you, Frieta..."

"Frieta, lets make a bond, that no matter when or where, I will always be there to help you in your times of trouble!"

"Alright, Chris! Tee-hee!"

"oh my god!!! CHRIS!!!! ITS YOU!!!!!!!" Frieta screamed as she kissed Chris passionately on the lips, surprising Chris somewhat.

"Take it easy, Frieta! I was simply saving you from that asshole!" Chris said happily.

"You saved me from that killer! You have no idea how much that means to me!" Frieta said with tears in her eyes.

"Well, it was the least I could do...for a friend..." Chris said with some hesitation.

"You are still the shyest hedgehog I've ever known!" Frieta said with a bit of laughter.

"Well, I may be shy, but I am much more talented then I look, trust me on this...if you know what I mean!" Chris said with a grin.
