Chapter 2: Chain's history

 

 

The next morning….

 

 

The next morning Tails had just woken up. “What a beautiful day today.” Tails smiled while he looked out of the window. “Better go check on the hedge-fox.” Tails murmured and walked downstairs. Upon arriving downstairs Tails saw the hedge-fox stir and make groaning sounds in her sleep. Tails walked up to the couch and examined her. When Tails got close enough to her face the hedge-fox's eyes jolted open startling Tails. “Whoa, you scared me.” Tails said to her. The hedge-fox jumped up from the couch and back flipped towards the door. “Who are you? Where am I? TELL ME!” she demanded. Tails stretched his arms out toward her trying to calm her down. “Hey calm you need to rest you're sick and hurt.” Tails stated. “Shut up,” she screamed “I don't need your pity.” The hedge-fox retorted then she felt massive amounts of pain erecting from her ribs.

 

 

“See? You need rest I don't want to hurt you.” Tails said reassuringly and held his hand out to the mysterious hedge-fox who took it. “My name's Miles but my friends call me Tails.” Tails then twirled his two Tails around.

 

“My name's Chain, Chain the hedge-fox.” Chain replied and shook his hand still eyeing him suspiciously. “Where am I?” Chain asked looking around. “This is my workshop and my house.” Tails replied with a smile on his face. “How did I get here?” she asked walking around a bit. “My best buddy Sonic found you outside lying on the ground and brought you here until you woke up. Which was a few minutes ago.” Tails replied, that charming smile never leaving his face. Tails then came to a realization “HOLY SHIT!! I've gotta call Sonic!” the young vulpine bellowed and ran towards the phone and quickly dialed Sonics number as fast as his sensitive fingers would allow.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile…..

 

 

Sonic was in his bed sleeping that is until his phone's ringing had woken him up “It was the toaster I swear!!” Sonic hollered, awakening from his dream. He sat up in his bed for a few seconds until he realized his phone was ringing.

“Hello?” Sonic said through the phone. “Sonic it's me Tails. You have to hurry up and come over fast she just woke up and….” Tails trailed off “And what?” “Just come over here as fast as you can.” Tails finished and hung up the phone. “Sheesh! What's got his panties in a bunch?” Sonic wondered aloud got his shoes and gloves on then headed out the door.

 

 

Later…

 

Sonic was on Tails front porch about….five minutes after he left. Tails, already knowing who was there opened the door and dragged Sonic in. “So where is she?” Sonic asked, eager to meet this girl. “She's in the living room sitting on the couch.” Tails responded and led Sonic to the den. “Is this your friend Miles?” Chain asked, “Yes it is. And don't call me Miles call me Tails.” He requested “Very well then.” She replied.

 

“Hello there my name's Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog!” Sonic said

 

“My name's Chain, Chain the hedge-fox.” Chain replied.

 

“So chain,” Sonic began “Why do they call you chain?” he asked.

 

“Well….” She trailed off and lifted up her hands which had chains wrapped around her wrists. “I am called Chain because I can control the chains that I wear on my wrists and manipulate them to do whatever I want.” She finished.

 

“So what's your story?” Tails asked curiosity getting the best of him.

 

 

FLASHBACK

 

(A/N: Chain will be narrating this flashback and these mean that she is narrating. Understood? Good!)

 

(A/N: This Flashback takes place about a day or three ago in the Red Mountain where Chain is seen running as fast as Sonic.)

 

I was running in the Red mountain on my way to the Mystic Ruins because I heard that Chao resided here. That is until that Eggman fellow showed up. “Give me your chaos emerald little girl and I promise I won't hurt you!” Eggman threatened as he appeared in his Egg mobile. “How did you know I had a Chaos Emerald with me?” Chain asked in confusion. “Two reasons, A: I have a chaos emerald tracker B: plus you just told me!” The mad scientist explained and unleashed his hordes of robot minions to fight Chain. That crazy fat bastard began to send thousands of robots after me in an attempt to take the chaos emerald I had and still have in my possession. Chain, using the chains on her arms was destroying the doctor's robots by lashing her Chains out at them. “What's this? So you can manipulate the Chain's on your arms to attack eh? No matter,” the mad doctor then pressed a button on the panel of his machine causing two robotic arms to lash out at her. Chain dodged the arms and jumped toward the head off the Egg mobile. Chain then sent a swift kick towards the side of the machine causing it to malfunction. During the malfunction one of the arms lashed out at Chain and hit her in her ribs really hard which sent her hurdling towards the mountainside. “We'll meet again hedge-fox!” Eggman cursed and retreated with his army of robots. After the hit I had taken from that robot arm my energy began to drain. And I fainted a couple yards away from your house Tails.

 

END FLASHBACK

 

 

“…And that's what happened.” Chain finished.

 

“Wow I can't believe you took on Eggman's goons all by yourself!” Sonic said clearly impressed. Sonic soon came to a sudden realization “Hey wait, in your flashback thingy you did say you could run really fast didn't you?” Sonic asked “Yup!”

 

 

“Do you think you could beat me?” The blue blur asked

 

“Possibly.” Was her answer.

 

“Then how about a race right now?!”

 

“Sure, I can't see why not?” Chain replied with a shrug. The two had forgotten all about poor Tails as they walked outside and got into their running positions. “At the count of three we go. Alright?” Sonic said with a grin on his face.

“Whatever floats your boat.” She replied and they both got into position.

 

“1,” Sonic crouched down a bit.

 

“2,” Chain began to twirl her bushy fox tail in the air.

 

“3!” They both sped off in the blink of an eye with after images trailing behind them leaving Tails covered in dust. “Speed freaks.” Tails murmured shook the dust off of him and headed back inside.

 

 

Sonic and Chain were neck and neck dodging all the obstacles that came their way. That is until they were headed for the end of a cliff! Chain just smiled and asked “Think you can make it?” Sonic gulped hard he knew there was water at the bottom of that cliff. “I'm ready for anything!” came his reply. The two furries then jumped off of the cliff sorta sky diving to the water below. `WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?! I SHOULDN'T BE OUT HERE PLUMMETING TO THE WATER BELOW ME!!' Sonic screamed in his mind. Chain kept the smirk on her face and began to inch closer to the cliff. When she was close enough she starting running down wards to the water. Sonic then got an idea and began to move closer to Chain “Gotcha.” He said and grabbed her and wrapped his arms all the way around her. “What are you doing?!” She bellowed. “This,” Sonic reached into her pocket and pulled out a blue chaos emerald “CHAOS CONTROL!!” the two disappear in a flash of green light.

 

 

 

Later…

 

 

Sonic and Chain reappeared in a flash of green light right outside of Tails house. “That was some race.” Chain said. Then she suddenly fell to her knees panting hard. “You need some rest.” Sonic suggested and picked Chain up and headed inside.
