We've defeated Eggman. I'll count this as my revenge for what happened in space. Rouge wandered off, and Omega followed her. I just gazed out at the sky. My vague memory of Sonic hadn't improved, and I still hadn't told Rouge that my memories were back. Rouge walked back out and talked about finding Knuckles, again.
"Some things never change, do they?" I smiled and shook my head as Rouge flew off. I turned and started to walk away when Rouge sharply turned in the air, flew back, and dashed toward me. She threw herself at me as I spun around. "What is it?" I inquired.
"How did you know `Some things never change'? You've remembered!" Rouge cried happily. "Why didn't you say anything."
"You're right," I admitted, "but I'm forgetting everyone else again. I can't remember what happened to me much after I came back to earth, either."
Just then an arguing group approached. Is it really him? I can't seem to remember if he's the one in my memories, but there is a strange familiarity to that hedgehog walking toward us. "Sonic?" I called out to him.
The hedgehog looked up from his argument from the echidna and the fox, looking shocked and disbelieving. "Sh-Shadow?" he yelled. The other two with him looked astonished, too, as they all ran toward me. "Is it really you?"
"Yes, I think so…"
"How did you survive?" the fox, who I realized was Tails, asked.
"I…don't know," I confessed. "Um, Sonic, are you crying?"
"What? No! Of course not! I just… you're…you didn't…" Sonic stuttered, wiping his eyes. He seized me in a hug. "It's good to have you back."
