Chapter 14: The REAL Story Begins

Mchael awoke to find himself in a hospital bed.

There were tubes and other instruments attacehed to him, and he knew that he had to have been out for awhile.

"Guys?" Michael hadn't spoken in three days, and his friends were very happy to hear him speak.

"Michael!" Tails ran up to Michael and have him a hug.

"Hey, Tails..." Michael weakly responded.

"How ya feeling?" Tails asked Michael.

"Like hell...<snicker> is my dad ok?" Michael said.

"He's fine! He's waitin at the house with Amy, she said that she had to get a few things done before they went back to the hospital.

"What?" Michael was confused about the whole issue.

"Haven't you heard, Mike?! Amy's about to deliver her baby!" Tails said happily.

"Thats right!!" Michael got up, unaware of the instruments attached to his body.

"You need to rest, Michael! Me and Tikal will help out!" Tails said.

"Tails...tell Tikal that I love her, and that I hope she visits me soon!" Michael said.

Tails gave Michael a wink and headed out the door, leaving Michael alone in the room with a television set and a bed.

"Well, may as well see if there's anything good on..." Michael turned the TV on and started flipping through the channels, stopping at an interesting news coverage of downtown Eagle-Eye.

There was a yellow echidna on a podium outside the former Mayor's office, and Michael thought he looked like Bill.

"Fellow echidnas and hedgehogs!! Lend me your ears and listen to what I have to say!! For too long has this city been neglegant to cater to our needs! Too long has this ass of a city been screwing us and forgetting all about us! Too long has this foul city breathed in the clean, pure air, and exhaled foul, ugly air! Too long we have waited and waited for this town to get it together! Now is the time, brethern! Join me, Bill, in the fight against Eagle-Eye!!!!" Bill shouted over the michrophone, causing the ruckus crowd to cheer and chant Bill's name.

Michael was stunned that his good friend Bill would do something like this againts the very place he grew up in.

"I myself have been a victim of prejudice!! I am strong and capable of being the finest leader ever!! However, I have always been behind the shadow of Chris, the leader of my former gang, the "Freaks!" IU have had enough, and the time has come for Chris, and all of Eagle-Eye, to learn a lesson in humility and respect!!!" Bill pounded his fist on the podium, each blow caused damage to the piller.

"Bill...what...?" Michael was puzzeled at Bill's recnet attitude.

However, when Bill got on about Michael, it was too much for the orange hedgehog to take.

"This brings me to my other point: Michael the hedgehog!! He and his father may have stopped that dragon, but they won't beable to stop our combined forces!! Together, we will triumph over all adversity! We will succeed above them all! We will have the power!! We will rule!!! We will make things according to our standards!! And we shall do as we please!!!!!" Bill pounded his fist against the podium, destroying it like it was paper.

Michael turned the TV off, horrified that Bill had rallied a group of echidnas and hedgehogs, who were all just as pissed as he was, to attempt a takeover of Eagle-Eye.

Michael yanked the tubes and cords out of his body and dashed out of the room.

"I need to talk to Chris and the others! Maybe they will have some answers to this!!" Michael said to himself as he dashed off towards where Chris and the "Freaks" were.
