A/N: Now that that's out of the way let's begin chapter 2 shall we?

 

 

 

Chapter 2: Hidden Emotions

 

 

Shadow sat upon the roof of Princess Peach's castle watching the sunrise, thinking. Why does she remind me of Maria so much? Bah! It doesn't matter she's just a damsel in distress like all these other helpless females. Shadow thought. He soon heard a familiar voice. “You okay Shadow?” the voice asked. “What do you want faker?” Shadow replied, standing up from his sitting position. “Nothin' just wanted to see how you were doin' is all.” Sonic said. Without even so much as glancing at him Shadow walked away.

 

 

“Where ya goin'?” Sonic asked. “None of your business!” the black hedgehog retorted, hopping off of the roof of the castle. “I just need time to think.” He whispered to himself then skated off in some random direction.

 

 

“He must be really depressed about Peach being captured.” Tails said, walking next to Sonic as the two watched Shadow skate off. “How do you know?” Sonic asked. “If you even paid any attention to Shadow when he's around Peach you'd know what I mean.” Tails replied, also running in some random direction. “Where ya goin'?” Sonic asked. “To my workshop!” Tails hollered back.

 

 

Sonic turned his attention back to Shadow's body quickly disappear from sight. “I better see where he's going.” Sonic murmured. He hopped off of the castle's roof and dashed after Shadow, making sure that Shadow wouldn't see him.

 

 

Later…

 

 

Shadow finally stopped running after what seemed like hours at what seemed to be a graveyard. But this graveyard wasn't an ordinary graveyard this graveyard didn't have tombstones and human graves in it. Instead it had animal bones and carcasses and all kinds of gory and disgusting things.

 

 

Shadow inhaled the scent of the decomposing animal flesh and rotting bones. “Haven't smelled that in a while.” He mumbled, walking off somewhere.

 

 

Sonic hid a couple feet away from Shadow behind a giant elephant carcass. “This shit smells awful! How can Shadow like this smell?” Sonic complained, putting his hand over his nose he slowly followed Shadow, making sure the onyx colored hedgehog couldn't see him. Due to his carelessness Sonic stepped on a bone crushing it making a large “CRUNCH” sound.

 

 

Shadow's head darted behind him searching for any followers. He found none but still didn't let his guard down. This guy must think I'm really stupid for him to follow me like this and think he's getting away without an ass whooping from the Ultimate Life Form. Shadow thought. “Chaos control,” he whispered and disappeared from sight.

 

 

Sonic began to look around the area he was in just to make sure Shadow wouldn't sneak up on him. He could be anywhere right now so I can't let my guard down! Sonic thought.

 

 

Soon he gave up on searching for Shadow and just began to walk around. “Why would Shadow come to this place?” he wondered aloud. But before Sonic could take another step he felt the barrel of a gun against the back of his skull. “What do you want faker?” the gunman asked. “Shadow….. um what are you doing here?” Sonic replied, dodging the question. Shadow lowered the gun, as Sonic turned around.

 

 

“What do you want?” Shadow asked.

 

“What's wrong with you?”

 

“Nothing!”

 

“You're lying,”

 

“I'm not!”

 

“It's about Peach isn't it?”

 

“NO!”

 

“Then why are you blushing?”

 

Yup it was true. Shadow the hedgehog was… Blushing. “Yes it is about Peach! Happy Now!?” Shadow barked. “Now we're getting somewhere,” Sonic replied. “What about Peach?” the blue blur asked. “It's just that… She reminds me so much of Maria and,” Shadow trailed off. “AND?” Sonic asked. “I think I love her.” Shadow murmured. Sonic still heard him though.

 

 

“But there's still one question that hasn't been answered yet.” Sonic said. “Yeah and what's that?” Shadow asked. “Why in the hell did you come here in the first place?” “I came here to lure you out of hiding. I knew you were following me.” Shadow replied. “But…. How did you know?” asked a confused Sonic. “Oh please. I could smell your stench 10 miles away!” he said. “That's not very nice.” Sonic replied. Shadow chuckled “That's because I'm not nice faker!”

 

 

Sonic thought about the situation here for a moment then came to a conclusion. “Dude if you really love her you should save her.” He said. “You know what, you're right! Thanks for the advice!” Shadow said, running away “Advice? Thanks? Huh? Hey where are you going?” Sonic asked in confusion.

 

“To visit a couple of my friends!”
