July 24, 14:06 Station Square

Eruption Countdown: 8 days, 3 hours, 1 minute

 

* Amy runs onto a random street in the city, practically out of breath. Naturally, she's still searching for Sonic after Eggman captured him. *

 

Amy: (panting) Where is he? (continues running) Sonic?! Sonic?!

 

???: Amy?

 

Amy: Huh? Is that you, Tails?

 

Tails: (flies in) Still searching for Sonic? (lands in front of Amy)

 

Amy: Yes, but I can't find him anywhere. And if I don't within around 8 days…

 

Tails: Listen. I think I may have found a small trace of volcanic gases.

 

Amy: Really?

 

Tails: Look. (pulls out a small test tube) In this tube is a sample of the gases. It's very small, however, and most of it isn't really from the volcano. I had to dilute it to get as much of the sewer gases out as possible, and this was the best I could do.

 

Amy: This won't be enough to convince the city government. We'll need more. You remember where you picked it up, right?

 

Tails: Yes, I do.

 

Amy: Keep checking it out, Tails.

 

Tails: Okay.

 

Amy: Oh, I almost forgot. Is it alright if I have one of those test tubes? You know, just in case I come across something?

 

Tails: Sure. No problem. (hands a small test tube to Amy) Good luck finding Sonic.

 

Amy: Thanks. Bye.

 

Tails: See you later. (flies away)

 

Amy: (shocked) Oh, damn! I forgot to ask him if he's seen Sonic! (runs off)

 

July 25, 21:53 Station Square Park

Eruption Countdown: 6 days, 19 hours, 14 minutes

 

* Just outside Station Square Park, Amy rushes in. Once again, she's out of breath, but this time her condition is worse. Running around the city for three straight days obviously tired her out. *

 

Amy: (panting heavily) Water…need water…to find Sonic…

 

* Amy stumbles to the nearest water fountain she can find. But after taking a drink, she immediately spits the water back out. *

 

Amy: Yuck! (coughs) Disgusting! That tasted horrible. Almost like -

 

* Amy suddenly realizes what may have made the water taste so bad: sulfuric gases, possibly from the volcano. She quickly takes out the small test tube Tails gave her, and she collects some of the water from the fountain. *

 

Amy: Now I got proof! (turns around, placing the test tube in her pocket) I gotta bring this to Tails.

 

* But before she can get far, a familiar green robot falls down in front of her. Realizing what the robot is, she is practically petrified at the sight of Eggman's new-and-improved robot: Zero MK-II. *

 

Amy: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (runs away) Nooooo!

 

Zero MK-II: Target acquired. (launches arm at Amy, but misses) Capture! Capture! (begins chasing Amy)

 

Amy: (still running) Why won't you die?!

 

Zero MK-II: … … … (launches arm again, but misses)

 

Amy: (still running) What do you want with me?!

 

Zero MK-II: Objective: destroy future Amy Rose.

 

Amy: What?! How do you know I'm from the future?

 

Zero MK-II: … … … (winds up arm)

 

Amy: That's it! (pulls out Piko Piko Hammer) You're dead!

 

* As Zero MK-II releases his arm, Amy swings the hammer at it, sending it right back into the robot's head. Zero is only slightly damaged by the blow, and the robot tries to attack again. *

 

Amy: Oh great.

 

* Out of the blue, an electric bolt comes straight toward the robot. It connects, and Zero becomes incapacitated. *

 

Amy: Tails!

 

Tails: That was close. What were you doing fighting that robot anyway?

 

Amy: Eggman must have built another version of the old copy. And what's worse, it even knows I'm from the future!

 

Tails: That's not good. Eggman must have inside information, but from where, I don't know.

 

Amy: If you don't mind me changing the topic, I found another sample for the investigation. (pulls small test tube out of pocket) I took a drink out of a water fountain here, but it was contaminated with some sort of sulfur.

 

Tails: Now this is what we need to try and convince the city government. Nice job, Amy.

 

Amy: Did you get any more info on the location you found?

 

Tails: Not much more activity compared to yesterday. I'll need to examine the area some more. But in the meantime, you should try to bring that sample to Rouge. She works with the city council, so you may be able to get an audience with them to - (turns head toward Zero MK-II) Uh oh…

 

* In the middle of Tails' sentence, Zero MK-II stops sparking and gets back up. *

 

Tails: How did my electric bolt not kill it?!

 

Amy: Get ready!

 

Tails: No Amy! We should get out of here!

 

Amy: But to do that, I'll have to knock it back down!

 

Zero MK-II: (to Amy) You'll pay for the damage you caused me!

 

Amy: In your dreams, Zero!

 

* Amy starts twirling the hammer around with help from the Warrior Feather, and she sends the robot flying into a building. It bounces back, and Amy repeats the process several more times. *

 

Tails: Uh, Amy?

 

Amy: One second, Tails.

 

* She throws the robot into the wall one last time, leaving Zero worse off than before. *

 

Tails: (frustrated) Amy, let's go already!

 

Amy: Alright, alright, I'm coming.

 

* Tails and Amy flee the scene, leaving the incapacitated Zero MK-II lying against the building. But it starts beeping several times to start its recovery procedure… *

Oh man, what a case of writer's block that was. But now that I'm back, I'm ready to update more often, especially since it's winter break for my school. See ya!
