Chapter 1: Sonic 2 Beginnings

Eggman: YAAAHHHHH!
Eggman's Mech hits the wall and is damaged beyond repair.
Sonic: I've finally beaten you!
Eggman pulls out a Chaos Emerald.
Sonic: That's a Chaos Emerald!
Eggman puts the Emerald in a slot on the machine.
Eggman: I need more time! So I think I'll get that.
Sonic: Extra time?
Eggman: If I would have beaten you in the past, you couldn't have stopped my plan for the ARK.
Sonic: What do you mean?
Eggman presses a button.
Eggman: RETURN TO THE PAST!
Suddenly, a bright, white light surround the two enemies and Sonic wakes up.
??? (female): There, there. Wake up Sonic.
Sonic: Is that Princess Sally's voice? Impossible.
??? (same): Wake up, buddy.
Sonic (shouting) THAT IS PRINCESS SALLY!
Sally: Of course. Nicole, how's Sonic?
Nicole, her handheld computer replies.
Nicole: He seems… different, Princess. But Robotnik's maing his way to the Emerald Hill.
Sonic: EMERALD HILL! I beat Eggman there years ago! Could he really have sent us back in time?
A purple walrus-y thing walks in.
Sally: Ah, Rotor, you're here.
Rotor: Yeah.
Sonic: Rotor! Haven't seen you in a while!
Rotor: What? You just saw me 3 minutes ago!
Sally: He thinks someone called 'Eggman' sent Sonic and himself back in time. It also seems that this 'Eggman' character is the same as Dr. Robotnik.
Rotor: Really? Well it doesn't matter now.
Rotor turns to Sonic.
Rotor: We gotta get you to Emerald Hill.
Sonic: I've beaten him there before; I can do it again.
Tails walks in.
Tails: But if what Sonic's saying is true, then Dr. Robotnik will be expecting Sonic, and would have set up a better-than-normal defense.
Sonic: Tails! Tell them! The X-Tornado; something!
Tails: I've never head of the X-Tornado, but the plain old Tornado is here.
Sonic: Then Eggman… er, Robotnik… sent just himself and me to the past.
Sally: Well, get to Emerald Hill!
Sonic: Huh? Oh. Okay.
Sonic gets up and hits a red spring and bounces his way up to the surface and heads for Emerald Hill.
