The Plan

'Why? Why is it that I still love him even though he refuses to love me in return?!' Amy mentally screamed to herself. Amy had gone to her house alone, not being accompanied by Sonic, who was probably too busy to be with her anyway.

As Amy continued to weep, a light knocking could be heard at the door. Amy looked up and listened again to make sure her ears hadn't deceived her.

"Amy, its me, Rouge! Please, open up!" A concerned Rouge called through the door.

Amy opened the door and let Roug einside, her body drenched with water from the rain outside. "Why, hello, Rouge..." Amy said depressingly.

'She's not going to go on without him, I can sense it...there's no mistaking it!' Rouge convinced herself as she faced Amy face to face. "Amy, I have been watching you as of late, and I'm getting concerned with you're emotions..." Rouge said with the concern of a mother.

"Rouge...I wouldn't have been so emotional if he would've at least acknowledged me!" Amy retorted at Rouge.

"I know that, Amy, I know that...please, listen to me! I have a plan to get Sonic on your side!" Rouge said confidently.

"No, nothing could persuade that stubborn bastard..." Amy said almost in monotone. 'If only he would love me...' Amy looked at Rouge with tears in her eyes. "How can I get him to love me when he constantly ignores me?" Amy said desperately.

'Kid, I have no idea why I believ this, but there is something about you and Sonic that tells me that something special is going to come out of this. "Its not going to be easy, you must let him make that decision for himself...I know its not something you would want to do, but its the only way you will ever get him truely." Rouge said with a confidence only she could pull off.

"Maybe so..." Amy said silently. 'I don't know, its not that bad of a thought, and its the only thing I haven't tried...maybe there's something to this after all...' Amy spoke to herself as Rouge watched Amy's facial expressions carefully.

'Amy, I can only hope and pray that it works out...I don't know why, but I feel like this relationship will be the one that brings about something special...' Rouge said to herself as she waved goodbye and out of Amy's house.

'Thank you, Rouge...' Amy said in thought as the rain started to slacken off.

<Meanwhile, at Sonic's house>

Sonic was watching TV with Tails, and a bucket of popcorn was on the table with the late movie on. However, no matter what the blue speedster tried, he couldn't shake a feeling within him that something was missing. 'Why do I feel like this? There can't be anything wrong with me...is there?' Sonic contemplated as Knuckles and Tails noticed their friends confusion.
