Chapter 17: Two against One
While the AX2000 and Eggman watched with eagerness at the predicament that the hero's were in, Knuckles was busy trying to find the 2nd Chaos Emerald. However, along the way, an E-series robot appeared out of nowhere and slammed Knuckles to the ground. It has been sent to find the Chaos Emeralds, but Eggman had sent Knuckles too...some unknown agent was at work...

Knuckles stared in bewilderment as the red robot jumped in the air using high speeds, able to "land" on the air and corss the canyon safely.
"How the fuck did that thing ever get that programmed into it??" Knuckles groaned as he felt the barriers numbing effects start to dissipate. 'Nows my chance at some payback, you bucket-o'-bolts!' Knuckles sprung up from his spot and charged the E robot, seeing the machine generateits barrier again.
Knuckles, however, had figured out how to get past that annoying obstacle, so instead of charging it directly, he pounded his fist through the mountain over the robot, sending massive stones cascading down.
"Danger, immidiate destruc-" Before it could finish speaking its sentecne, a large stone smashed through its barrier, sending high voltage sparks all over the place.
"Whoa! Time for me to get out of here!" Knuckles quickly got out of the robot's way, a loud and vicious explosion was heard behind Knuckles as the E-series robot had self-destructed. "Heh, guess he was a metal-head after all..." Knuckles started to go where he sensed the energy of the Chaos Emeralds, but he again found an E-series robot; two of them to be precis.
Knuckles was perplexed at why he always sensed the Chaos Emerald's energy but ound it to be those E-series robots.
Suddenly, it all clicked in his head...
"Those things are powered by the Chaos Emeralds!!! But, why can't I see the emeralds inside of them?!"

Meanwhile, the AX2000 had been waiting for over 7 hours, growing slightly impatient with Knuckles' slow searching. It was about to press the button when it suddenly felt a larg weight clobber it on the back of the head.
"Oww! Hey, whatn the hell was that for?!" The AX2000 demanded, seeing Shingleman and the SX2 behind it.
"If you destroy Amy now then the entire purpose of collecting the Chaos Emerald's will be ruined." Eggman whispered to the robot, a look of worry appearing on Michael's face.
"What are you freaks talking about?! Tell me!" Michael screamed at the two, getting blank stares from them. "Why the hell can't you mess with someone else?! Huh?!?!" The orange hedgehog boy had tears streaming down his face, not knowing what would become of his mother, Amy.

Meanwhile, Knuckles was a good distance from the two E-robots, when one of them looked back...
"Target acquired! Subject, K.N.U.C.K.L.E.S. found...eliminate at once!" The left robot said, its green armor shining brightly as was its blue counterpart.
"damnt...this is gonna get ugly..." Knuckles groaned as he prepared for one hell of a fight...
