Have things always been this beautiful? Have they always been so calm? Have we ever enjoyed life this much, this perfect sky with no hint of an imminent attack? Has life always been this surreal, this wonderful?

We all realized the truth of this world once we experienced 3 months free of havoc and destruction. No attacks, threats, warnings--nothing. We'd been safe. We'd been able to go outside without wondering `at which point will our afternoon be ruined?'. . . something we all had all taken for granted.

During this 3 month period, Eggman hadn't struck us once, at ALL. We'd all been living in peace, getting to relax and have fun with one another. At first Sonic felt uneasy having this leisurely time; it had been so long since he'd ever just sat and relaxed. His restlessness soon wore down though, and even he became thankful.

In the spirit of fun and happiness, we all decided to have a party. The time we'd spent having worry-free fun wasn't something we were going to waste, especially when it could leave us at anytime. Cream and Vanilla, of course, decided to host the party.

I was so excited. Sonic had pulled me aside a couple days before the gathering and said something I never thought I'd hear…

--Flash Back--

“Amy… Amy…!!!” The rose-colored hedgehog turned around gracefully, her usual crimson dress flowing elegantly after her. She raised her right hand to her face, shielding her eyes from the sunset's orange glow. A few feet away stood Sonic, his blue quills feathering away in the cool evening breeze. Amy smiled gingerly.

“Sonic… What is it?” He smiled back for a moment, then turned to face the opposite direction. Amy gulped silently, disappointed that he was going to leave so soon. But, what does he have to say? He looked back at her, his usual smirk adorning his face, then said, “Amy… I have something very important I have to tell you on the day of the party… meet me here about an hour after its ended. Don't tell anyone… and come alone okay?”

Before Amy could agree, Sonic had sped off into the horizon. A small cloud of dust and a gust of wind were left as a result; Amy stood watching him disappear as she pushed her quills out of her face. “Sonikku…” Her cheeks held a deep red glow, matching her dress. Oh how she couldn't wait for the day….

--End Flash Back--

I couldn't believe it. Sonic wanted to tell me something… it had to be that he loved me! it had to be… he'd been so close with me lately. These days of utter peace couldn't get any better.

Unfortunately, I was very correct. The couldn't get any better. They wouldn't. in fact, they would take a turn for the worst. I never thought that I would end up in a situation like this, and for reasons I couldn't even fathom. Whether or not I was of importance made no difference; all I knew is that I was part of something that would change me. I didn't realize this until looking backwards.

In the end, it all worked out. We're all able to be okay. We're all able to live happily… to an extent. After all of this madness too… what a miracle.

This is the story, The story of feelings I never thought I could possess.
