(Morning after the defe at of Malefor)
A gentle breeze stirred& nbsp;the air as the sun began to rise&nb sp;over the Vally of Avalar. With it
came the dawn of a new age for t hose that called this place their home. For the
struggle for peace and safety&n bsp;from the ruthless purple dragon Malefor h ad finally come
to a close. The ni ght before he was challenged by Cynder, the formerly infamous black
dragoness known& nbsp;as "The Terror of The Skies" and Sp yro, the new purple dragon whose
one&nb sp;purpose in life had been to bring abo ut the end of Malefor's existence and th at of
his dark forces. The two had successfully rid him from this life and saved their world.
However, their triu mphant victory had come at a great cost. Along their peril filled trek
to make their last stand, the dragon duo lo st their dearest friend and mentor, the great
guardian dragon of the fire eleme nt... Ignitus.
Whats more, the amount o f power unleashed by Spyro in his valian t effort to heal the
world as it&n bsp;tore itself apart was tremendous. The act drained him of all his powers and
strength. This resulted in both Cynder and himself getting knocked unconscious. Now
as the sun reaches the pinnacle of  ;its ascension, Spyro finally begins to awake n. At first
the sun's light renders&nbs p;him temporarily blinded. After a few second s of readjusting his
eyes to the l ight he is able to take in his surr oundings.
As he looks around he can&nbs p;hardly believe what his eyes are seeing.&nb sp;The world was not
destroyed. He had& nbsp;managed to save it. Even more unbelievab le is he was still alive.
Spyro wa s so overjoyed that he felt like he  ;might weep with joy . Yet after a moment of
savoring his accomplishment, he&nb sp;realized that something felt as though it& nbsp;were missing.
Then it hit him... C ynder! He looked around frantically and found that her body was
resting on the& nbsp;ground several feet away from him. Havin g spotted Cynder he rushed to
her side as quickly as his body could carry& nbsp;him. Once he reached her he stopped  ;and
carefully placed his head upon her chest. He desperately hoped that she wa s alright. A
few moments went by a nd he heard the soft thrumming of her&nb sp;heartbeat. It felt like her
body was weak at the moment, but her steady  ;pulse told Spyro that she would be just
fine. He lifted his head from her body and sighed with relief.
Then  ;as he stared at her resting figure, he& nbsp;remembered their last conversation that
they had, just after defeating Malifor. Spyr o remembered him telling Cynder that he
wanted her to run. To leave him an d find some place to take up refuge  ;from what was
transpiring at the time. Yet dispite his request she refused to& nbsp;go. Insisting that no
matter what might happen that she was going to remai n by his side. Seeing as there
was to be no changing her decision to stay Spyro simply nodded to her in respo nse.
Then he began to call upon ev ery bit of physical and magical power he had within him.
for one last atte mpt to save their dying world. Then just as he released it all from his
body; he heard her whisper in his ear three simple yet unexpected words to hi m. "I
Love You". Then everything went&n bsp;black.
She loves me. Spyro thought to himself. Did she really mean it? More importantly did
he feel the same way about her? They had both been throug h so much and they
weren't always friends. At one time he considered her t o be his enemy. Spyro could
have&n bsp;left her when he defeated her at Con vexity but he didn't. He saved her life& nbsp;than
and again when they got trapp ed in the Well of Souls. Throughout all& nbsp;that time he felt a
strong connect ion towards her. There was this need to& nbsp;protect her and show her that he cared about her. More than that it w as a compulsion to spend time with her&n bsp;and do
anything to see her smile.&n bsp;All along he wondered why he felt th is way. What was this
feeling of e motion that he had for her? Now that&nbs p;he thought about it, it was love. He&n bsp;
loved her. Looking back at Cynder a nd peering at her beautiful face, Spyro knew that
he still did.
It was&nbs p;at that moment that she came through a nd her eyes slowly opened. She blinked < br> a few times to help her eyes adjust to the bright sunlight. Then when she&n bsp;was able to
see clearly she lifted& nbsp;her head so that her eyes met with& nbsp;his. Spyro's breath caught in
his chest as he gazed into the depths of&nbs p;her astonished eyes. After a few moments&nb sp;she
broke the silence.
She shook&nbs p;her head slighty and then spoke to him in a tentative voice.
"Spyro... is&nbs p;that really you?"
"Yes" Spyro replied.  ;"It's really me."
"Where are we? The&n bsp;last thing I can remember is...", she&nbs p;stopped short of what she
was saying& nbsp;and looked away. As if she were emb arrassed about she was going to say.
So Spyro soothed his own nerves and f inished what he felt certain she was goi ng to say
to him.
"The last t hing you remember is telling me how much you truly care about me, as I
made my last attempt to save our home. That you love me."
The scales on& nbsp;her cheeks flashed a deep shade of red as she softly gasped. Lifting one of her wings slightly in front of he r she tries to hide the visible embarras sment on her
face.
Spyro chuckles softly at her shy reaction to his knowin g her true feelings towards him.
He&nbs p;stops and leans his head down to her&n bsp;ear so she will have no trouble hear ing what
he has to say next.
"You have no idea how long I have w aited to hear you say those words."
She slowly lowers her wing and looks u p at his smiling face.
"Really?"
" Yes"
Shedding silent tears of joy Cynder closes her eyes as hers and Spyro's&nbs p;lips meet in a
soft yet passionate&nb sp;kiss. The pressure of their lips pressed&n bsp;together warming her to her
very co re and setting her heart racing. Never h ad she felt more alive nor happy than&nb sp;in
this single moment with Spyro.
They pull apart from their first kiss and gaze lovingly into one another's ey es.
"I love you Cynder"
"Yes... I& nbsp;know that now."
Sighing she stands up slowly and stretches her sore muscles.&nbs p;
"Well Spyro... I suppose we should pr obably start heading back to Warfang. The&nbs p;
guardians are most likely concerned with&n bsp;our whereabouts and our health. Not to&nb sp;
mention the fact that Sparx will be& nbsp;very worried about you."
"Don't worry&n bsp;about them, they'll be just fine. Besides whats the rush? Beings how we
jus t saved the world and think we deserve&n bsp;something of vacation to relax and celebr ate
our victory"
"You know... that's&nb sp;actually not a bad Idea. The ancestors&nbs p;know we could use a break
from h elping people. Plus it will give us time alone together"
Says Cynder playfully.  ;
"Then its settled. We'll take a three&n bsp;day vacation and then we will make o ur way back
to Warfang.",
Spyro sa ys as he wraps his tail around hers.&nbs p;
"But for now we should lie down and rest some, regain our strength."
Sm iling Cynder nods in agreement with him and the two lie down next to each o ther.
With Spyro holding her in his&nbs p;embrace and their tails still intertwined s he falls into a
peaceful slumber.
